Hellooo! So I'm going to be running the Canopic Being adventure and have some concerns for the ultimate battle vs Valin Sarnaster. My current plan is to run her alongside 1 or 2 Canopic Golems and also bump up her HP quite a bit as the characters going in will be lvl 15 rather than the recommended lvl 13. I plan to have her teleport to one of the players during their exploration of her tomb and cast her contagion spell and hopefully give them vulnerability to all dmg.
"Each of the thousands of motes of light that fill this cube-shaped room takes the form of a tiny eyeball, all of them shifting to stare at you as they drift past." - This is from the text box right before the final fight. I plan to use the eyeball-like motes of light to make the fight even more challenging if possible, though I'm not sure how. I just feel like with all the iconography of eyeballs throughout this adventure it'd be fitting to use them for something other than to describe the room. Any thoughts on what to use them as? Maybe have them all on initative 20 turn to face the players and shoot lazers equal to 1d6 per eyeball currently standing with an HP and AC of 12 or something? Maybe they make a Dex save to take half dmg too? So it'd be easy for the players to get rid of them but also do something to make them spend their actions to get rid of them? (I will obviously not have 1000 of tiny eyeballs like the text says 1000d6 is a bit too much hahaha, but something like 10 maybe?) Hope this wasn't too much to read and hope you have some insight for a new DM who's only ever written his own adventures and never used the official books hehe <3
