i look to make no profit, only spread joy. i sometimes make homebrewery homebrew and never was even 1 monetized. if ever i decide to make homebrew to profit off, it will be free to access, but have an optional way to pay, such as patreon or those choose what to pay gmbinder things

I'm right now making a part of an adventure where players are stuck in a world that's inside of the chest. Idea was that it's filled with mimics and can be random items, switching around. So I was thinking how to do it.

This is the evilest thing ever.

I will steal this. I already am going to give them the mimic book that's gonna try to befriend them. In the last session, they spent 1 hour talking with the mirror mimic, who responded in images.

Now they are already expecting mimic in every room... But I can also make magic items (or potions?) mimics. Mwuahahaha.

What about a mimic that is inside a painting. And depending on what the painting was is what the mimic would be, for example if there was a painting of a character  the mimic would be that character but with sharp teeth and long claws and probably extra eyes. This mimic could come out the painting.

I was thinking that there could be a mimic ring or amulet that poses as something magical, waits in a treasure hoard (or similar place where a magic item would be found), and stays with the looter until they're alone (or asleep), at which point it injects a venom that makes the wearer fall asleep and/or go numb. It then begins to eat the target in their sleep, attempting to kill them before they wake up.

If the looter is an elf (and they have sleeping instead of numbing venom), they don't attack, either going for one of their companions or waiting until they get a chance to feed.

Edit: This is somewhat based on myths regarding camel spiders.

I love that idea more than mine but i do still like mine. But earlier in this page it saaid there would be playable mimics i think that the Amimic should be a playable race since it is a form of a humanoid.

What about a class you can play as called the mimic hunter. Your purpose is to destroy mimics of all kinds even the freindly ones. You could have a spell called Detect Mimic. You would also have a pet mimic that is loyal to you, this mimic would most likely be a weapon or a tool. Of course there would be more stuff you could do but that's just whats in the top of my head.

I would recommend taking the changeling race from Eberron, change the Ability Score Increase to +2 Strength and +1 Constitution, remove the Changeling Instincts trait, and add in the amimic's solvent trait.

Or, take the mimic race and swap "Adhesive" for "Solvent"
