Are you running a game in a premade world? If so, the sourcebooks will have religions.
If you're running in your own world, you can make some gods up. (If you need ideas, take a real world pantheon, such as the Greek or Norse, and use them as examples of what sorts of gods you'll want.)
Another trick is to tell your players to make up their own gods, or details of their worship. Use their ideas as a starting point if you need some more gods.
Some of the best descriptions on Religion and the Gods in D&D is in the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide. Granted it is setting specific, being part of the Forgotten Realms, but it covers how religion is viewed and has better descriptions for the main gods. In most cases you'll end up mixing and matching, but it has a better perspective than just a sentence or two from the other sources.
I’m making something based on warhammer, does that count?
If it's your game, i.e. you're the DM, or your DM is okay with it, sure why not? Almost everyone borrows from other fiction or at the least uses it for inspiration. You may want to change the name, unless you're playing in the Warhammer world, just to make it bit less obvious. But that's totally up to you.
My players want to join a religion, and I don’t know a whole lot about that stuff in dnd.
