I was having some trouble flushing out some world building when I realized the (NPC) group I was working with would be so much better as a "Friends to Enemies" trope. Realizing that made a whole chain reaction go off and now I'm getting up the nerve to write it down. This is my final procrastination.
What are your favorite tropes to hear about/ insert in your works? Are there any tropes you thought were great but turned out terrible? I'd really like to hear about them.
I just like reading TV Tropes in general, possibly specifically the setting pages under D&D, for inspiration. Even though this is a homebrew world, It provides great inspiration. For example, there is a tavern, which exists as a pocket dimension. Inside it, minor gods, as well as high level adventurers and the sort, mingle and chat. Perhaps you could make the opposite, turn it into a villain pub, or perhaps a place where both villains and heroes show up, and magic stops any fighting from happening.
