I mean I'm not willing to sit around and wait for someone else to do an in depth study/evaluation of it, before I use it. I'll try it out in my next game startup.
I'm not so egotistical as to think I'm an expert game designer. I'm sure that if someone with years of game design experience, and/or better native design talent took a run at it they'd evolve a workable system faster than I can, and probably end up with a better result. But a system that I can cobble together and use now, which gives "good enough" results, is better - in my humble opinion - than a perfect system years from now, or never. "Perfect is the Enemy of Good".
Maybe someone will come up with a better version eventually. In that case I get to use this approach now, and use the better stuff that comes later - and maybe my experience and experimentation can help someone do a proper job of it later. And if nothing better comes along, I can just keep using my "hack".

You volunteering, Vedex?
WOTC lies. We know that WOTC lies. WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. We know that WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. And still they lie.
Because of the above (a paraphrase from Orwell) I no longer post to the forums -- PM me if you need help or anything.
