When I tried to download the player maps for Princes of the Apocalypse, it said that one of them was 11,000 kb, and wouldn't upload on Roll20 when I tried. I was able to compress the images, but can you decrease the file's size so further trouble may be avoided?
I do believe the only way to decrease the file size would result in a lower quality image, which I'm sure many would not be a fan of. However, if we had a few selections (maybe low res, med res, and high res) that would resolve this.
I've had the same issue with roll20 before. Mine was a background image (map) and I ended up just using photoshop to cut it into 4 pieces and reassembled by placing the pics next to each other in the background layer. Getting it to line back up was trying but it worked in the end.
Good luck.

How do you get a one-armed goblin out of a tree?
Wave!
