I have a couple slightly different ideas on the ways it could work. The basic idea is that when you cast it at higher levels, you can add to or subtract from the averaged "rolls," but I'm undecided on how it should function. In my mind there are three questions:
Should you add/subtract your spellcasting ability modifier or your proficiency bonus (or some kind of combination of those)?
If it's your spellcasting ability modifier, should what you add/subtract be your modifier times the number of levels you upcasted it? (So assuming a modifier of +5, if you cast it a 5th level, you add/subtract 5, but if you cast it at 7th level, you'd add/subtract 15.)
If it's your proficiency bonus, should there be a multiplier on that, too?
Should you be able to add to/subtract from rolls whenever they happen, or should that require your reaction (or some other kind of limit)?
How should upcasting it scale?

Hey, so I created a spell (obviously...) and I would like some advice on how it should be upcast. This is the current spell:
