Hi i was hoping the community can help me balance some homebrew spells. So just give you an idea of the aesthetic im going with, im playing a gnome puppetmaster(Bard, School of Creation). So i picked spells like Silvery Barb, Hold Person and eventually like dominate monster etc as you can imagine i be pulling my strings to control and manipulate them.
Onto the homebrew spells i need help with balancing and appropiate spell level:
Blood Curse of the Fallen Puppet When a creature you can see within 30 feet of you drops to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction to give that creature a final act of aggression. That creature immediately makes a single weapon attack against a target of your choice within its attack range. You can first move the cursed creature up to half their speed, and you grant a bonus to the cursed creature’s attack roll equal to your spellcasting modifier (minimum of +1). Appropriate spell level? Can this be buffed without becoming OP?
The Show Goes On A reaction spell to pull a friendly creature closer to him within 30 feet. Friendly creature moves 5-15 feet from harm. (flavour would be using magical strings pulling an Ally closer like a puppet). I was thinking making this a Lv2 spell, due to the fact its stronger than Shield spell. Opinions?
Tangled Wire Spell Attack- Shoots at magical metal wire that constrain the enemy. Restrain an enemy and take d4 damage at the beginning of their turn. Creature can use his action to break free from this affect by succeeding a Str Saving Throw(Every spell level increase, increase extra d4 damage). I really like this concept but i feel like its redundant with Hold Person, help make it more balanced as i would like to have both Hold Person and this spell due to character flavour.
