So I haven’t played with the race builder yet that much. So looking for ideas to make this better. Also need help on how to make the advantage on history and insight per long rest.
I want to make “blood elf” a race. Keeping the basic elven traits. 1: proficiency in perception 2: Advantage on charmed and magic cant put them to sleep 3: Trance 4: Darkvision 60ft 5: Elf weapon training
Attributes: +2 Dex and +1 Con
Tools: Proficiency with alchemy set
once a day can “taste a drop of blood” to gain knowledge from the person or creature the blood came from including speaking the language of the creature. Advantage on insight and history for that creature.
Currently it is impossible to set the advantage to only one possible roll. As adding the advantage on the modifier will add advantage to all the rolls specified. What you can do is add a feature called Blood Recall, which resets per long rest. (Make it that you have the advantage but the only time a player can use it is once per long rest).
However I'd remove the advantage and change it to 1d4 on Intelligence (History) and Wisdom (Insight) check like the Mark Elves from Eberron instead of advantage, which can be add a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus.
Then I'd allow them to be able to speak one language of the creature they have partaken of blood in this way once per long rest.
I would remove resistance to necrotic damage, as I deemed it to OP for an elf at this point but Shadar Kai have these resistance so it should be fine. And keep the rest.

I could do that once I figure how to do that in the builder. Still learning the racial builder. I consider myself a novice now at item building.

That could be better in the long run because it can increase the odds. Could also build a ”blood pool” that they could use after the roll but before the results.

That is the idea but I did not see a way to build that into the character builder. A temporary language resets on long rest does not seem to be an option in the builder.

I could change the resistance to work for 1 minute by expending a “blood point”
Not sure how I could make “blood points” in the character sheet. My thought is make them equal to hit dice and they expend a hit die every time they use a feature. I think that might not be possible with the current builder though.
Set the scaling for the actions in the Limited Use feature to edit how or when it scales at certain level by adding a number every time it gains a set level.
Click the Edit of the number of uses and set how many it has at the certain levels, it will scale automatically until you change it at later levels.

You should create an action type in a name Eg. "Blood Recall" set it to general or spell feature. Then save, once saved scroll down to actions again and click edit. Once you click the actions and scroll down to long rest set the charges. How would I scale that with level.
iE: 1 use at level 1 and 20 at level 20?
The guide does not explain that aspect very well, or at least I don’t understand it.
