This seems very basic and simple but I'm not seeing how to do it. I want to make a custom weapon that has its own base properties. So I want to change the base damage, damage type, range and other properties without using a base weapon. When looking online it seems like I need to choose a base weapon and accept or try to awkwardly modify its properties.
Couple random examples I may want to make. A Giant Boomerang - two handed ranged weapon that does 1d6 bludgeoning and has 100/200 range. A Photon Pistol - a one handed ranged weapon that does 2d10 force damage and has 200/300 range.
Or anything like that. Is this possible on DnD Beyond and I'm not seeing it?
I don't believe you can, but I recommend checking out the pinned post by IamSposta. If you go to the section on Homebrew Items and Equipment, it should answer pretty much all of your questions.
