Hi guys, another homebrew question. I want to add a cloak I gave my players, which allows them to use a reaction once per round to reduce damage from ranged attacks. I don't see any way to add a reaction to an object (so that it shows in the Reactions section on the character sheet when equipped), or any way for an item to reduce damage. Any ideas?
Magical Items homebrew doesn't currently allow you to add actions/reactions to a character sheet in the way that you can through homebrew races/classes/feats.
I have similar mechanics in one of my items but I simply put it in the description. Especially if that feature is triggered not passive, it might be good idea to make the players remember about it - as a part of the narrative.
If not, just drop it there and they will have to consider it on every attack - so more work for them or their DM ;)

You could use a custom feat to achieve this.
