I'm going to be running a Ravnica campaign and want players to be able to be able to do the following:
1) swap out characters during a long rest. Using a ritual spell or something. (I have a player that likes to play more different classes and I thought a mechanic like this would be fun). 2) Be able to summon NPCs etc. solders, wizards, humans and summon monsters and creatures.
I don't want to make the creature summoning spells op or ruin the game. I just like the idea, like in MTG, to summon creatures.
I looked for some home-brew spells for something but found nothing and I wanted advice before making my own.
For monster/creature summoning I'd refer back to d&d 3.5e, they had a summon monster/creature spell for every level of magic, as for being bale to summon NPC's then you could give them magic items, things like the Horn of Valhalla or Elemental Gems but being able to summon lots of creatures isn't necessarily going to make their time easier but it may make it a little less interesting if they keep relying on summoned creatures to help them out.
