My players have been having a bad streak of player character death. Mostly because they miss out on healers within the party and they end up rolling very bad on their death saving throws. The first time someone passed the party was stuck in the Shadowfell in the middle of nowhere. That player also stayed dead. The second time a cleric joined the party for just a few sessions which in a session zero managed to obtain a diamond worth 300 - 500 gp. This prevented a permanent death for one of the party's member after she got killed by an imp thanks to a revivify. And in our latest session the party's paladin died after getting shot by an archer and then bleeding out (failing all of their saving throws). After which the party made their way over to the paladin's church. This person is the youngest son of a noble family which is an important part of the military institution thats part of this church. After paying a total of 1050 they were allowed to attempt a resurrection ritual. (1000 for the diamond, 50 for the chalk it took to use a teleportation circle.) There were no costs for the service itself because of the position this person holds.
Should it be this easy for player that dont have any healers in their party to be able to be resurrected at level 6?
No, I think if you make it easier for a character to come back from death it removed a lot of tension. Coming back from death is only something I would do with a quest of some sort.
It's up to you and your players. Some players want the chance to get attached to their character, to play with them for weeks and months, and are willing to go through any amount of effort to bring dead characters back! Others like the gritty realism of character permadeath, and as long as it offers a good moment are perfectly happy to rip up one sheet and create something new! And often players will go back and forth depending on the character.
If you haven't already I'd suggest having a chat with the group and asking everyone. For those players that don't mind character death it might not be a big deal, but some of your players might be much more invested and not find permadeath as much fun. Having that agreement in advance won't take the threat of death away, nor the implications, but it can help your players continue to have fun even if things get deadly.

Id like to hear your opinions.
