I am relatively new to DnD and very new to this website and I am currently trying my hands on a homebrew PC race option for the very first time and while I saw that this site has a feature to just create homebrew races, I'd like to get some feetback first.
The race is called Motlin and they look like human sized, wingless moths or owls with very large eyes, furry faces and upstanding ears that resemble antennas or feather tuffts. They tradtionally dwell in coastal regions and islands, and they have a taste for seafaring and a sixth sense for approaching misfortune. Superstitious people avoid them because they are therefore associated with bad luck, but sailors fancy them as early warning systems and navigators.
Their traits are:
- +2 Wisdom, +1 Constitution
- Lifespan: They live for a century or less
- Size: Medium
- Walking Speed: 30 ft.
- Darkvision for 60 ft.
- Languages: Common, Motlin and one of choice
- Twitch of Fortune: After a long rest, roll 1d20 and record the result. Once, when a creature you can see makes a saving throw, you can replace the result of the roll with yours. You roll again the next time you finish a long rest and the new result replaces the old one, if it hasn't been expended already.
- Stargazer: At night, when the night sky is clear, your party cannot get lost or be disoriented.
- Featherfall: Due to their light built and their air-resistance increasing fur, Motlins take no damage from falling.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
You get a wonderfull view from the point of no return.
Seems pretty good to me, but Twitch of Fortune seems a bit powerful. Maybe make it like you can add or subtract a d8 from any roll you can see once per long rest?

That would work.
I originally made it that way to resemble the signature abillity of Divination Wizards, but that might really be too powerful for a race feat.
You get a wonderfull view from the point of no return.

It looks relatively balanced, more balanced than some races (yuan-ti) that are official
Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
