Garavant nimbly dodges the troglodyte's claws, sliding his feet to stand sideways, making himself a narrower target. Then, however, the powerful and wretched stench of his opponent churns his stomach, making him so woozy he can't even mount his usual vicious and cunning attac. He does his best, trying to lunge forward with a thrust of his rapier.
Rapier w/Disadvantage due to Poisoned condition Attack: 9 Damage: 10
Sila moves quickly into the passageway careful of her footing. Seeing the others showing some effects of being close to the creatures, she aims carefully looking for a clear shot between Garavant and Gruenic. Nocking an arrow in her Longbow and firing. Attack: 7 Damage: 4
(if for any reason she feels that the would be more likely to hit her companions than the creature, she'll resist and attempt to find a better angle. She will risk it if only if possible friend on a nat 1 due to their high ACs)
(Sila would only hit a friendly on a nat 1 so I took the attack as posted)
Silafires her longbow at the last assailant, but her reticence in the confined space means that she fires when there is really no good angle; the arrow flies high and ricochets off the cave ceiling, plopping into the pool beyond.
Retching and hacking from the troglodyte’s horrendous aroma, Garavant is unable to focus on his target and stabs wildly through watering eyes. His rapier is deflected away by a claw.
As the rogue buckles again to cough up more bile, Lucy’sarrow shoots past him and sinks into the troglodyte’s thigh. The foul-smelling reptilian looks up to the source of its pain and snarls as it yanks the arrow out and lets it drop to the ground.
Sila draws her bow again taking careful aim waiting for just the right opening between her party-mates, a lean to the left or right making all the difference.
Attack: 10 Damage: 8
She will also keep a periodic eye on the other direction and the water for other signs of life.
Gruenic's hammer smashes into the troglodyte's chest, crushing ribs and sending fragments into both lungs. The creature lets out a hoarse rasp as it stumbles backwards and ten falls, clawing at air, into the small river. It is so narrow at this point that the creature's body wedges into the channel, creating a small dam which briefly holds back the river before the water level rises enough for the stream to continue on its way, determined by eons of erosion.
The cavern falls quiet again apart from the running river. Following it north, against the current, leads to the large stinking cavern that you found earlier. South is the small cave that now houses a very dead, very large lizard.
Pale and on the verge of savage retching, but fortunately unscathed, Garavant manages to croak out a few words as he begins to retreat from the fallen troglodytes.
"Going...back there," he says, indicating the direction of the lizard. "Must find ... whatever passes for fresh air in this wretched place."
He makes his way back toward the fallen lizard's cave, eyeing the chests. Once he's caught his breath, he begins to inspect the chests, looking for any signs of traps as well as trying to gauge the sophistication of any locks.
"Smelly brute. But my hammer took the wind out of him. Hah!" Gruenic walks over to the underground river and washes off the business end of his hammer. Then he walks back to the chest and bends down, examining the lock, and helping Garavant with opening it.

As soon as the last troglodyte falls, Lucy hurriedly runs up to her friends. "Garavant! Gruenic! You ok… oh!" And stops as if there's an invisible wall between them. She turns to Bree, whispers to the halfling in a small voice so that wouldn't hurt the half elf and half orc's pride. "Ah… Bree. Can you help them to clean their clothes? Or should I wash them with my spell?"
(By the way, if Garavant's second perception check fails, Artemis will help him )
Gruenic smiles at Lucy, then starts to sniff his armor, his armpits, his equipment to see if any of the troglodyte funk came off onto him. “Sorry if I offend dear Lucy. If you have a spell that could clean me up that would be great.”

"Sounds like a good idea to me too!" Garavant calls from over by the chests. The smell may or may not have sunk in, but he certainly doesn't want to take any chances.
Assuming no traps, Dex to Open Lock w/Thieves Tools 23
Garavant staggers away from the source of his revulsion and his stomach eventually settles (all poisoned heroes are fine again now). Inspecting the chests he can see no sign of traps, and the fastenings seem to be simple loops – no lock at all.
Artemis lands with a flutter next to the crouching rogue and waddles around the container, trying to look for tripwires or other signs of danger – there is none.
You pop the chests open and find they are both filled with silver coins – hundreds of them (a total of 2,200 if you take the time to count them all).
One also contains a potion made of separated brown, silver and gray layers which will not mix – recognised as a Potion of Climbing. The other chest has a potion of its own, a cloudy green fluid which smells like the sea and has a jellyfish-like bubble floating in it. You know from the description that this is a Potion of Water Breathing.
Sila smiles recalling Lucy's ability to manipulate water and considers the likely cold shower they've both agreed to. Wondering if her minor illusion would be believable enough to warm breeze them dry. Working it out in her head...just in case.
If the excessive scent fades after the creatures die, Sila will attempt to search them over if they wear any gear. Otherwise she will leave them where they lay and move in to the room with the large dead Lizard. "Do you want me to try to skin the beast? It could take some time?" She asks of the group.
“Wow, that’s a good bit of coin! What should we do with it, lug it to a hiding place to grab before we leave? And who wants these potions?” Gruenic turns and looks at everyone. “ Should we rest here for a bit?”
He takes some deep breathes and relaxes, calming his body and healing from the injuries of the lizard.
Second wind : 2 points of healing.

Bree will help Lucy with cleaning the others by spamming Prestidigitation on them. She will also poof some jolly colored stuff around just for fun.
"I'm all good for carrying on. No rest needed here. But if you want to we can!" Bree says to Gruenic. "Maybe we should carry on a bit first though, I don't believe these two stinkies are the only ones living here with the giant lizard and all the coins!" She then turns to Sila "Maybe we should also wait with the skinning until after we have made sure we won't be attacked soon"
Garavant's eyes go wide at the sight of all the coins. These could go a long way back in his hometown...
"I am fine to carry on," Garavant says to the others, as he survived the lizard and smelly ones unscathed (other than severe nausea that has now thankfully passed). "But if need be we can rest a bit. I've no objection to that."
" I agree with Bree. Though I want a new pair of boots, we haven't cleared this floor yet. So explore first and skin later. The lizard will not go anywhere" Lucy kicks the dead beast and says.
@Garavant, Gruenic
The elf wizard springs cool water from her water skin . Combined with Bree's spell, now two adventurers are clean, smelling good and not wet at all. " Much better! " Satisfied with the job, Lucy turns her eyes to the coins. " Bind the chest and drop it in the water. Cover with sand and no one will find It. And you can keep the portions. I don't think I need them"
Sila's happy to see the prestidigitation and ponders asking for a clean up herself. "The potions could come in handy in a place like this. Anyone interested? I could also use a quick rest if you all are willing? I need to re-center my ki."
Sila could cast darkvision allowing 8 hrs for Bree and take a short rest resetting all of her Ki points providing for extra attacks later.

“Sounds good to me Sila. I need to rest for a bit and meditate.” Gruenic sits down on the ground, crosses his legs and goes into deep prayers, you see his breathing slow, a wave of calm wash over him.
