Garavant grimaces a bit due to the smell and filth, but can't help but turn it into a smile as he discovers more money.
"Every little bit helps, I suppose!"he says happily as he counts the coins.
Once all that's taken care of, he gets set with the others for further exploration. He points to the stone door to the east and begins moving in that direction.
You head back down the slope, past the dead bodies of the gricks and then east toward the door. As you get nearer you see that it is in fact made of metal, not stone.
It is cut into the cavern wall, a small but strong-looking door of iron plates, about five feet tall and four feet wide. Heavy rivets stud its surface, and a tarnished silver rune gleams on the door’s rusted face. It has a keyhole set in the right hand side and no obvious hinges.

(11 gp, 36 sp, 40 cp ea if I did that coin split right?)
Sila smiles at the welcome coin Garavant presents and counts out her share tucking it into pockets. "You have a stronger constitution than me!"
"Does anyone have a heal? I'm not quite myself and don't want to be a hinderance to the group." Sila asks still weak from her injuries as they start to head out.
As they approach the door Sila looks about it for any evidence of traps without physically touching it remembering the flame trap above then an iron key sold to the Blacksmith in town and regretting it. She'd assumed it'd gone to the other door. perception19
Sila can see no sign of traps or danger, and her inspection of the door reveals it to have just the one lock. It seems mundane, if a little complex. The door itself is very sturdy indeed; trying to defeat it with brute force would probably be very difficult.
(Coin split looks good to me, please everyone update your sheets)
Gruenic goes up to Sila, saying “Let me heal you. Once we get to a safe spot, I need to rest for a good while to get some of my magic back. But let me ease some of these wounds for you first.”
Casts [Tooltip Not Found] on Sila for 10 points of healing.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
When Sila mentions "magic" and "locks" Bree snaps out of her thoughts. "Sorry guys, wasn't really myself for the last few hours..." She shakes her head a bit, "Luckily noone got to hurt in the mean time..." she adds remorseful. That her smile returns to her face "But I'm back now!"
She continues talking not really taking in that Garavant is already on the task "Did someone say something about using magic to open a lock?! That is something I can do. Wouldn't be really sneaky though I've heard from people they heart it 300ft from the lock." She then sees Garavant struggling with his tools and adds "Ah! That kind of magic! Oops! Let me know if I can be of any help" as she casts prestidigitation on Garavant and Gruenic to clean them up from the mess from the previous room.

Lucy looks at her comrades. They are exhausted, injured and not in good shape. " After taking those troglodyte's heads, maybe we should take a long rest too. Where do you want to sleep guys? The Ogre's room upstairs? Or the hearth room where the big lizard lived? "
While listening to her friends, Lucy takes a close look at the runes on the door and investigates them.
Garavant toils away at the lock, stumped at his first attempt but determined to learn from the challenge. While he sits back on his haunches and counts off some unknown points on his fingers, Lucy inspects the runes inscribed upon the door.
@Lucy:
The runes appear to be the smith-mark of Durgeddin, the master smith of Khundrukar. You learned his marks when you were researching for possible locations of Sunneedle and considered Khundrukar as a possible location.
Garavant finishes his calculations and takes to the lock again, a determined look on his face. This time, after a tough fifteen minutes of scowling and fiddling, there is a loud click from the door and it pops ajar. The door is not hinged, it swings on a pintle through its middle.
A draught sweeps through from the other side of the door, but no sound.
" The runes.… " Lucy answers Sila with her hand on the door. " It's the smith-mark of Durgeddin, the master smith of Khundrukar. I saw the same mark on the letters that Durgeddin had sent to my great grandmother. She asked the master smith to restore our heirloom, the Sunniddle. In exchange, great grandmother promised the dwarves protection ,supplies … and reinforcement if the keep was under attack. The last one was never fulfilled though."
The Elf wizard stands up and leaves the door. " I can make a wedge with ice. If you still feel uneasy, we can drag the dead rock worm and leave them between the doors. "
"We are on the right path then. Perhaps Sunneedle lies within. I wonder if there will be a place to rest that is safe inside. Let's look on the other side of this door, can we get back through, if we need to?" Gruenic appears tired, worried that he won't be able to protect his friends.

Sila nods, knowing the ice may melt. She steps through and looks beyond to see what lies behind the door, glancing back to see if there is a lock on the other side of the door.

At the bottom of the door, on the other side, is a hoop the will accept a metal swinging arm from the wall - it appears you can pin it open if you wish.
Beyond the door is a 10ft-wide, 20ft-long corridor which ends in a landing at the top of a long staircase. The stone stairs descend in darkness, although a faint light glows at the bottom as if they arrive in a lit area.
"If we close this door behind us we could rest here before going down. If it falls into the lock and somehow Garavant can't get it open anymore when we want through I can open it magically. I'm feeling ok for now, so I would be happy to take first watch while you start getting some rest."
Gruenic takes the opportunity, goes to a spot on the floor against the wall and sits down, begins to relax. He takes off his plate armor and begins to rest, saying “I can take second shift if you want. Wake me when it is time.”

"Thank you Gruenic, much appreciated. It brings me closer to being whole." Gratefully accepting the healing and looking much better.
"Garavant, think you could work your magic on that lock?" Not seeing any other way into it.
Garavant does what he can to dissipate the stink of his retrieval mission, waving his arms around and whatnot so that the air clears a bit.
"Oh ho, a lock!" he says when Sila asks about the closed door. He quickly makes his way over to it, takes out his tool kit and goes to work.
