Inside the room, BB stalks the mage, his polite tone underscored by a swing that connects and one that misses.

At the door, Larry strikes so fast that even he isn't sure he hit, until the creature groans and doubles over in pain.

Black shoves their head through and grabs hold of the creatures leg, giving it a good shake before releasing.

The mage, hard pressed by BB, attempts to blow him back with a series of magical darts of force. BB takes 26 force damage.

The many armed creature extends two arms through the doorway, pulling itself through to bellow in Bolt's face, following that up with a furious barrage of slashes.

The mage opens his mouth and seven unerring darts swarm out, flitting around before orienting on BB and zipping towards him. It doesn't look good for the big guy. 

Bolt gets struck by two of the claws, but she remains standing. Larry and Black each get hit by the claws that came for them, Black sparking and shuddering, but still functional.

It hisses, spittle spraying across Bolt from its horrific mouth, but its panting after exerting itself.

Bolt 20 ((Her health bar isn't showing, but she's at 5/54. Secretfool's call now, but I'd been intending to utilize her Stone Rune as a reaction.))

BB is about to continue talking when the last dart hits. He drops with a slurred,

"Well...shit."

Keller growls, and if there's a way for him to spiderclimb up the wall to the ceiling to get a better shot at the stairway friend, he will.

Hand crossbow the first: 18 Damage: 10
Hand crossbow the second (BA crossbow expert shot): 24 Damage: 7

Ah, right. Was going by the icon on the map. If it's not possible, it's not possible. Maybe he could climb partway up the wall with one hand, to get a clean shot with the other hand? No worries if not. Trying not to hold things up.

Keller kicks up off a bit of stonework, pressing himself against the outer wall and fires down over Bolt, hitting the creature. Dropping down lightly, he quickly reloads and sends another bolt into the horror.

Storm, all four of him, continue drifting into the room, and even more chaotic magic bursts and swirls out of him.

Tendrils of energy zip from Storm out through the doorway and wrap around Black, leaving him with a faint bluish aura as they retract.

A crackling ball of chaos leaps to Bryn as he feels the chaos building inside him, before it leaps again...

((Oh, wow! Surge from the mage!))

The chaos leaps from Bryn to the mage, who screams as the chaos begins infiltrating his flesh, which alternately flows and re-solidifies. It is somewhat nostalgic to all of you but Larry, though not necessarily in a positive way, as you experienced much the same when first exposed to the chaos energy that left you wholly changed.

Larry is able to feel the latent energy dancing across his metal body, tiny sparks leaping across gaps in his construction. It tickles.

Bryn focusess on his rod and two rays of frost shoot out at the Mage and the stairway friend:

Bolt swings at many arms, expending 4 charges of the booming blade on hit.

Attack 1: 15 Damage: 16

Attack 2: 24 Damage: 16

Booming blade fire damage: 9

The mage grunts as the icy bolt hits him, rime forming over where it impacted.

The many-limbed aberration similarly is struck, but it barely has time to register the hit before it is dealt a vicious blow from Bolt's flaming axe and is engulfed in flames, crumpling to the ground.

((The mage is 30 ft directly across the room from Larry and Black, but they'd  have to run through the pulsing sphere of energy in the center of the room. Skirting around the outside to get to the mage or BB would be more like 40-45 ft.))

Grandpa's faithful companion takes a moment to shrug off most of their damage, and looks ready to go another round with anything that would harm his master or his friends.
