Olivia found it difficult to concentrate. The confined seat in the car, her backpack of supplies jostling up and down as Beastie rode up the trail, the unfamiliar terrain. It caused her to become a little on edge. She wasn't used to being in a forest. When she got out of the car near the Ranger Station, she took a deep breath and puffed it out slowly, as if she was resurfacing from under water. After a few moments, she was fine again, and slung her backpack over her shoulder once more, giving the Ranger Station a once over.
Once he was done with his checks, he left it to the party to decide who got shotgun, and who had to cram themselves into the backseats. Regardless, it didn't matter to him as he enjoyed the purr of Beastie, and bringing her to life in this new environment, and judging by how quickly she turned on, he could tell she liked it too. Chuckling he patted the wheel and dash affectionately, before calling back, "Buckle in~"
Driving (land): 22 vs DC 14
The ride was a bit of a joyride for the Nomad, enjoying the air and feel of the soft dirt under his wheels as he navigated easily around the trees, following the map to the station. The people riding would feel the occasional jerk as he churned up dirt and made accelerations or drifted, but they made it safely to the ranger station as the only marks left, were the dirt painting Beastie's wheels. Hopping out, he gave a loud howl, laughing, "Aaahhahahaha! This is great~" Looking to the station, he let the others get out, before looking for where to properly park and station Beastie for refuel and the like.

"The air smells so clean here."Olivia noticed. "How did they grow these trees so fast?"
THE RANGER STATION
The ranger station was a collection of cabins and a very large metallic watchtower in the center. At the top of the watchtower was an office of sorts, like a large lifeguard station. In order to access the watchtower, we had to climb an talk winding length of steps. The cabins that formed a circle around the watchtower were vacant, and it was extremely quiet in the forest. There were no animals or insects.
The cabins contained supplies and fuel, but nothing more interesting than that. It was obvious the watchtower most likely contained the bunks, and other equipment.
If we were going to make it to the top, it would require us to be careful, and climb the steps.
SKILL CHECK Sometimes, I make you guys roll two skills, add them together, divide your results by the number of skills rolled, and try and beat a DV. Go ahead and make this check now:
Athletics + Concentration / 2 vs DV11
Here's an example. Olivia has an Athletics base of 10 and a Concentration Base of 10, so here's the roll: Athletics (12) + Concentration (13) / 2 vs DV11 = 14, a pass.
Go ahead and role play your results. Nothing really too bad happens if you fail, maybe you lose your footing and spook, or drop something to the ground below, but it's not Earth shattering.
LUCK POINTS:You have a number of Luck Points equal to your LUCK statistic that you can use BEFORE you make a roll. Your Luck Points replenish on a "daily" in game basis.
Reaper took the steps at a steady pace with no issues. It reminded her of some of the endurance and dexterity training she had gone through in training for her position. The instructors would make her hold her rifle above her head and go up and down stairs until her arms were screaming and her legs could barely hold her. If she fell or dropped her rifle she would have to do it again the next day.
She shook her head, pushing the memory away as she got to the top. She hated when those odd memories popped up unexpectedly. She never knew what would trigger them.
Not only was the drive not a pleasant and the biome not great... The climb was even worse... What is up with this forest? By the time I climbed to the top, I was completely out of breath... I expect to be compensated well for all of this...

Athletics: 12 Concentration: 12

Qrow parks Beastie near the watchtower after giving her a quick refuel, before easily and nimbly climbing his way up the tower, accustomed to moving about.
Athletics (14) + Concentration (14) / 2 vs DV11 = 14, a pass.
Olivia gripped the handrails and took careful, methodical steps up to the watchtower. It wound around the tower, and she remembered her military training of climbing, running, and jumping - so this was easy. She did a double take with IO, who seems out of breath when we reached the top. The view was, needless to say, spectacular. She entered the watchtower and set her backpack down, looking around, and waited for the others.
"You made short work of those stairs, Olivia. Guess this isn't your first experience with cardio." "Thanks." She turned a little red. "And no, definitely not. They made us climb crazy things and do tons of running in boot camp."
Reaper leans against the railing, facing the vast landscape, a far away expression on her face. She is lost in her thoughts and doesn't hear Olivia's question.
Standing in front of the locked door to the watchtower, it was time for some netrunning. IO can control the watchtower's electronic door lock from her cyberdeck. It's easy. Here's now.
NETRUNNING THE VERY BASICS
1. First, you have to find the tower's net signal by passing a SCANNER net action at DV2. Easy peasy. (To make a net action check, you roll your INTERFACE rank + 1d10. Your Interface rank is the same rank as your Role Ability, so, it's 4.)
2. Once you have Net access, you can enter the server and begin manipulation, but it's password protected. Go ahead and enter in the password Biotechnica gave you by passing a PASSWORD net action of DV2. Should be pretty simple, just enter it in.
3. Once you've been granted access, you can manipulate the files. Pass a CONTROL net action at DV2. Control lets you manipulate things in the Net, like the door panel you now have access to. Go ahead and open it up.

Getting to the door, it was finally my turn to actually do something useful. Extending my interface plug from my wrist and jack into the network. Sending out a ping, I quickly find the door, the drones, the lights, and everything else connected to it. Pretty baron if you ask me. No wonder their terrorist problem is as bad as it seems. You'd think with a company as big as Biotechnica, they would have invested a little more into their security.
Putting aside the very real problem that is their security, I pushed through their firewall via the password provided, and willed the door to open. What felt like minutes to me was seconds to my team, and to them, it was effectively jack in, door and lights open. With a sigh, I log myself off and usher the team in.
"Welcome to Ranger Station RF003-J02. Where we've practically given you nothing and expect you to be happy about it." If words could drip with substance, my words would be coated in lemon, salt, and mercury... everything a healthy wound would need to feel all the pain I was feeling at this abysmal and shoddy job of keeping assets safe. IO is not very happy about the state of things, and it is very clear. Her demeanor seemingly more perturbed than it was at the start. Taking a look around, I make my way to the console where the drones would be operated and controlled. "Lets hope this is better than what I've seen so far. ******* Corpos." I say to myself under my breath.
"Are you always this cheerful?"Olivia teased. There was no malice in her words, simply her attempt to make light of your mood, which was clearly sour.
BEEP!
The door to the Watchtower slid open with a SHUFFF and we all entered.
THE WATCHTOWER
Inside the watchtower, it wasn't very high tech. It offers a magnificent 360 degree view of the forest, and it's a gorgeous sight. There's a solar panel that provides basic power for meteorology computers and security monitors. There's even a seismograph. The hammocks are not well made and only support one person. There are a number of chairs with a table, and there's a cooler that is packed with freeze dried packets of food equivalent to Kibble. As for a toilet, there's an outhouse on the ground behind one of the cabins that smells like death.
Sitting on the table in large crates are two drones. Here are their stats:
The two mini air drones are equipped with the three bullet points on the graphic above. You can either control the drones by jacking into the NET, OR simply use them for observation. Since it's being controlled by IO, when you attack with the drone, you use your own Skills as if you were firing it's weapons in your own hands and dodging with your own body. If you have it on Observation mode, it will ping you when an enemy target enters an area that you designate.
It was now time to settle in. Go ahead and RP for a bit and let's wait for the poachers.
"Hey Reaper."Olivia said. "See that tree over there?" she pointed. "Friendly challenge? I bet you I can knock more pinecones off than you can." she took out her gun and brandished it.
If you agree, this will engage another skill test - opposed tests.
Reaper pulls her gaze away from the view out the windows and looks over at Olivia. Memories are plaguing her since the climb up the stairs, and they are dragging down her mood. "I...um." She takes a breath and scrubs her hands over her face, willing the memories and feelings away. "Ok, um...sure." She says as she moves toward Olivia. "No Zero for this one, pistols only." She says to Dorango. "Loser does 50 military pushups?"

"My money is on her..." He says with a playfil grin pointing the neck of his guitar at the Solo with a sniper rifle. "I can see why."Olivia admitted, but still. She wanted to have some fun.
"50 military pushups, eh?"Olivia considered. "Sure you can handle that many?"she joked, looking you over physically. "I'm kidding. You got it."Crap it's been a while since I did that many. Eh. It's fine. We're just having fun and I can laugh at myself. "That tree over there. Ready?"
Here's what we're gonna do. Three rounds. Each round roll Concentration + Handgun / 2. We're aiming to beat each other each round. If you roll a 1 or a 10, don't forget to "explode" and re-roll, either adding to, or subtracting, to your total. Don't worry about damage. We're just shooting pinecones.
""Are you always this cheerful?" Olivia asked. "Not particularly, no..."I said with no particular reason other to fill the void of silence. Regardless, I decided to get this show on the road and started up the drones. Pluging into the drone, I input the activation code given to me by the suit at the entrance, and set them to take a patrol in observation mode around the complex. Each drone would take a side and patrol to cover as much ground as possible. I would be monitoring them via my deck and using my recently acquired memory chip to record the footage. I will switch between the two drones repeatedly to keep an eye on the situation. "Eyes on, lets get this show on the road." I say as the drones start to take off to their respective starting points.
