Kendes steps down swiftly towards the closest cultist and strikes out with his spear (Cultist D9)
Spear: 26 Damage: 14
Should the cultist fall, he continues through the dark to attack one of the remaining cultists standing in the light (Cultist B6): Unarmed Strike: 25 Damage:5
He then moves back to block the passageway (B10, 30' of movement total)

Kendes's attack may have slain the cultist at B6, but Kosef will try again: 12 to hit for 14 damage. (GWM BA if necessary, targeting B5: 22 to hit for 11 damage).
"Apparently" Kosef says, "children can be taught. Even to use swords."

Kendes' spear ends the life of his target, and he injures the one who taunted Kosef with his second attack. Kosef then finishes off the injured man, and kills the cultist next to him as well. Only one cultist remains.
Valas attacks the last remaining cultist with his sword. Attack: 20 Damage: 6

As the sound of fighting stops Evendur calmly sheathes his sword, collects his torch and enters the room looking over the carnage and sigh. "They never knew what hit them" he says grimly to the others and goes to listen at the other exit of the room while being wary of any reinforcements arriving. Perception:19
"This seems to be the way deeper in,"Kendes says, pointing at the eastern tunnel within the ring of torchlight so everyone can see him. He gets to work stripping the cultists' bodies of their valuables and weapons, as usual, before retreating back into the shadows to scout ahead. As he does so, he tries to ignore the pile of bodies they created in the process. It doesn't seem very merciful, to have brought death to these cultists... still, considering what they did to Greenest, and what they plan to do with their clutch of dragons, gives him strength to continue.
Kosef cleans his blade. He does not like how poorly he fought. He also has to remind himself that these were not innocents. Who knows what is next, he thinks.
"Thanks again, Everdur," he says. "Lead on, Kendes."
Stor, he thinks, seems trustable. Valas also was valuable. It is good to have colleagues.
(I'm traveling today and am not sure how often I'll be able to post.)
Kendes notices that the guards have scabbards which are well-decorated with dragons (worth 5 gp each for 13 cultists). They also have, between them, 120 gold coins.
The passage way twists slightly, and leads to a large room. Thick rugs completely cover the floor, made of stripes of white, black, red, green, and blue. There is a writing desk, as well as several tables, scattered with books and papers. There is also a large standing mirror. Two oil lamps provide light. A chamber leads off to the left.
OOC: Thanks for letting us know about the traveling.
"Don´t despair brave Kosef, I´m sure your mighty blade will strike true when it counts." Evendur says in a lowered voice waiting with Kosef for any sign of fighting.
After looting the bodies (which I can distribute once we're done in this cave), Kendes inspects the room for any oddities. He pays particular attention to the mirror, wary of its size and incongruous presence.
"Valas,"Kendes whispers. "Do you sense any sort of magical aura about that mirror? I don't trust it at all."
He also takes a cursory look at the books and papers scattered over the desk and tables, trying to glean any more information he can about the cult.
Kendes finds a simple map of the Greenfields stretched out across a table, showing the villages the cult attacked. An arrow is sketched from the Greenfields toward the west and a town called Beregost on the Trade Way, where the arrow turns north. A seperate paper is covered with numerals in columns and contains the note, "Everything must be freighted north to Naerytar. Rezmir allowed us to keep some pearls, a ring, and a handful of small stones." There are some other papers, but they are mostly terrible dragon poetry, and a few sketches of dragons.
The mirror seems normal when Kendes inspects it, but he does notice a slight depression in the rugs on the floor in the far end of the room. There seems to be a 3 foot wide circle of slightly lower carpet.
"Looks like the cult is moving north," Kendes says, holding up the map for the others to look over, before pocketing it. He does the same with the accounting sheets, hoping to show them to someone who might understand the significance of the numbers. Afterwards, when he notices the carpet, he points it out to the others."Take a look at that,"he warns them. "I'm not very skilled at checking for booby traps or other unpleasant surprises, but I can move this rug if you want. There's definitely something here."
He also takes a moment to force himself to read, and even memorize some of the shorter, less terrible poetry. "Oh, who am I kidding," Kendes says as he looks through them. "This is all[Primordial]<a much more vulgar word for "tripe">[/Primordial]."

"Naerytar, would that be a place or a person? Perhaps even a dragon." Evendur says, cogs turning as he tries to recall any knowledge of this. Knowledge: 9
"Yes brave Kendes, go ahead, we are ready to face whatever devious creature that has taken refuge down there." Evandur answers, sword and shield at the ready.
(Back from vacation. Thanks for rolling for me. Nice job team!)
Valas takes a moment to himself after another bloodbath, looking with regret at his sword and taking a long look at the dead, especially any particularly young men that were slain. Eventually he quietly moves to the next room and nods at the request to look for magic. As the others look around the elf sits and begins the 10 minute ritual to attempt to Detect Magic in the room.
Kendes nods, but waits for Valas to conclude his search before attempting to do anything to the rug, trying to slip into the shadows to surprise anyone who might pass through while the team works. He spends those 10 minutes hidden, forcing himself to read and re-read the bad poetry on the off chance of being able to disarm a Vorgon with it, and check to see if the terrible author left his or her name somewhere.
Valas' spell reveals nothing. The room seems to contain no magic at all. No one enters the room while he does his ritual either.
Evendur tries to recall information on Naerytar, but he cannot recall ever having heard of whatever it is before.
The poetry is signed with a badly drawn illuminated F and M, each made out of contorted dragons.
When Kendes moves the rug around the depression, a hole is revealed. A rope latter is fixed to the hole, and descends downwards 30 feet. No monsters attack.
"Keep at it brave Kosef, chin up, I got you covered." Evendur says as he keeps parrying for himself and Kosef.
Evendur continues with the defensive stance (dodge action).
Interception if needed:7
(OOC: I think this is the initiative order: Cultists, Valas, Stor, Kendes, Kosef, Evendur. Is that right?)
Death on the Water and Baldur's Gate Bodyguard
(OOC: I think you are right but since all cultists have the same initiative we can all post our actions, right?)

OOC: That does look like the right initiative order. Everyone should be up again. I did forget Stor's attack though.
Stor takes another shot at the nearest cultist.
Attack: 8 Damage: 3
Kendes's attack may have slain the cultist at B6, but Kosef will try again: 12 to hit for 14 damage. (GWM BA if necessary, targeting B5: 22 to hit for 11 damage).

Valas attacks the last remaining cultist with his sword.
Attack: 20 Damage: 6
The last cultist is killed by Valas, and the fight is over. Stor goes to search for arrows lost in the dark, and then waits for what to do next.
