"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
"We don't have to, if there is a city in that direction there's a possibility we can get there first. If we reach the city before they do we can warn them what's to come, and help them stop it."
"We better get moving indeed, inform the villages, and the first city we see about the approaching army. As a small group we should be able to move faster than such a big army. Be on the lookout for outriders and scouts though."

"Of course" Grim says with an ironic chuckle and begins removing his backpack and chain shirt. "I'm much heavier than a Goblin, but this Worg is strong. I should be able to reach the closest settlement faster riding him and there's a good chance of finding game along the way. If someone would look after my gear?"
(OOC I got this Worg when it was confused. I doubt we could get others like that)
Deciding to warn those in the path of the goblin horde you set off in a easterly direction, skirting the edge of the forest for now. It takes most of the morning before you leave the woods behind and are travelling on the open plains. You estimate that you currently have at least an hour and will steadily increase the gap between the horde and yourselves as you travel.
A little before noon you are taken unawares by an Ankheg bursting up through the very earth beneath your feet. It has surprised you and spits a line of acid at the party. (I will resolve it's attack during the surprise round.)
Ankheg's initiative: 12

(You mentioned riding the worg before as part of a plan to move faster and possibly reach settlements ahead of the party. If you want to ride the worg I will need another Animal Handling check. The worg is a large creature and can serve as a mount to anyone of medium size or smaller.)
(My count is 2 successes and no failures so far. If you reach 3 successes before 3 failures I will count the worg as being under the Charmed condition. Your treatment of the monstrosity will determine for how long it remains 'friendly.')

Everyone takes 13 acid damage. DC13 DEX save for half damage. (The worg is traveling beside Grim for now.)

OOC: Are we on horses? If not, we may want to attack a couple of the scouts and get one of the Worgs. So we can ride them. Obviously.
