Maudath raids the breadbox, scooping up the day old pastries, and taking a big bite before the professor can change his mind.
"They'll only be more stale if you leave them," Maudath says around bites.
As they head down the street, he looks over ta Ryhunis. "From the directions the dwarves gave, the sled will be a couple of hours up the trail between here and the Cairn."
Eve grabs a pastry too, and then heads out after Maudath, skipping a bit to catch up. “Did you get up to much at the tavern last night, after I left?”.
“I know it’s cold and dark, but I have to say, that I’m kind of looking forward to getting out of town for a bit!”.
You all gather up your things and the supplies you think you'll need and head north in the direction of Kelvin's Cairn. There is a fresh snow on the ground. The snowshoes you acquired from the dwarves help to keep you from sinking too deep into the snow and travel is made a good pace.
Whomever is leading the group north I would like a Survival check from you please.
Iris drifts to the front of the group as they make their way out of town, keeping a vigilant eye out for any movement in the snow. Before they get too far she asks the others if they'd like some light to go by or if they'd be worried about giving away their position to any hungry creatures out there. If everyone agrees, she'll illuminate the front of her shield and use it to help guide their path.
Survival: 22
Perception (looking for any people, animals, or other creatures): 5
As your shield lights up you begin leading the party towards the large mountain known as Kelvin's Cairn. The day gets brighter as you travel on but on the horizon you can see the familiar clouds that signal an incoming snow storm, a big one from the darkness ahead.
Do you want to try and find some form of shelter or try and push thru the coming storm?
If Iris warns the rest of the party about the snow storm, Eve will say “A snow storm?... I don’t think we want to be caught out in a storm!!… Is there anywhere near, where we can shelter?”. She looks all around, in case she sees a suitable shelter nearby…
Perception check (if needed): 8 (passive 11)
((Eve (and everyone?) has darkvision out to 60ft. Equivalent to bright light in shades of grey))
The Professor straps his legs into the linkages, and fixes the belt around his middle. The braces bend with his legs, and he is able to use the handles to assist in lifting and swinging his legs. It seems like a lot of extra work for little to no benefit, but he seems happy.
"Well that looks unpleasant. Anyone know the area enough to know where we can find a spot to wait for it to blow over?"

((OOC: Has Eve just recently come back from Caer-Konig and the Cairn area (as per her pre-game info)? Maybe she would have come this way? Or do I have my directions wrong? Would she know if the party were near any suitable landmarks or anything that could be used as shelter in the area?))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"I'll admit that I don't travel this way very often, but I might be able to find us a place."Hopefully with a bit of help from her friends, Iris will begin searching around the area for a suitable spot to take shelter.
Survival or perception (both are the same modifier): 7 Another roll for advantage assuming somebody helps: 23
Maudath, eyes the storm, and while Iris searches one side of the trail, he does his best to help look out on the other side for anything that will act as a shelter.
"At worst we can just stick close together behind a snow bank and wait out the worst of it," Maudath says. "In the time we have before it hits, we should push ahead as quickly as we can. They said the sled was only a couple of hours from town."
"Sooo don´t think this as in a i care about what is gonna happen, since I don´t, can´t die so i don´t care, but you guys can, if i was one of you i would say to return imediatly to a safe place, this might get alooot worse, unless any of you can conjure some magic house, or the professor has one under his beard, i had one on my purse, but i don´t have it anymore" she said in the most carefree way she could "hhhmmmm those clouds could indeed look worse, but it can get aloot worse, really alot worse. In the worst case it could get taking a house out of their fundations, but either way it should be better for them to return. Even for me it might be better to leave since at worst i can be stuck in the snow for some years, wich is not great at all"
Looking around you see a little ways off the road what looks to be a partial structure of some kind. Gauging the rate of cloud movement you have about 15 min or so till the storm is upon you all. The snow is already picking up and the wind is growing stronger.
Eve calls out to everyone, raising one arm against the building wind and snow, “Please, everyone!!… To the structure, over there!…”. She tries to grab Maudath’s hand and encourage him over towards the structure… “Come on!!…”.
Unless anyone objects, Eve will move quickly to the partial structure, for shelter from the storm…
"Wait, Eve" Maudath says. "Let me stick my big head inside first. Make sure something bitey hasn't already moved in."
Maudath quickly approaches the shelter, looking for the most obvious opening, and takes a look inside to make sure it's safe for the everyone to go inside. If he sees nothing he'll move to the side to let the others in first. While not immune to the effects of the cold, Maudath had always found he'd usually been able to put up with much colder weather than his family could.
As you make your way towards the structure the snow is coming down now. Your visibility is reduced due to the driving snow and wind. as you reach the structure It looks like a house of some sort that was abandoned. The roof is partially collapsed as well as the south facing wall. as you look inside you see nothing but some rotted furniture. While not a perfect spot it should provide some respite from the blizzard that has engulfed you.
Eve ducks inside, and heads straight for the spot beside Maudath. She squats down and hugs her knees up to her chest. She shuffles in towards Maudath, looking like a huge baby owl in all her furs, and leans against him rather than against the cold wall. She looks out through the gaps in the building and says, “I’m glad we found shelter… Hopefully this will blow over so we can head onwards soon…”.
Ryhunis walked inside the house almost destroying the door just by going in and each step almost or just straight up destroying the floor and putting one of her feet under the house as she walked she grunted, but decided to stay close to the entrace, if necessary she could be usefull as a hum... golem shield And then she got curious exited as much as she could the golem on her ghost form and said "Self-defense, greed, religious and or political and or ideological expansion when one kills someone they put their own causes first over the other´s people whole existence, after 500 or 5000 deaths it almost looks the same yet the first time is interesting and one of the hardest things to do, unless you are the professor in wich if it´s the case the hardest thing to do is getting up intime " she does a small laugh while covering her mouth, or trying since she was translucent" We aren´t born to end someone´s life, yet we do it. So what about you all, what, when and who made you for the first time in your life grab something or not and kill someone, or something." Making this question she had clear goals in mind to see what type of people they were, they knew who they were more or less in the past due to their talk at the inn, yet even if she knew that she always made this question to alot of people she encountered, she had a certain... fascination with uncovering people´s potentials how they can awaken their potential and the huge road that is becoming the most powerfull self possible After saying this she rips of a finger and throws it at the midle poiting and Eve She then looked at her hand and noticed the finger that she had ripped in the Inn was still with her and she could had used it instead of ripping out another one "i am becoming dumber by the century"

"Harumph, I'm made of flesh and bone, and I've survived living with myself for two hundred years!", the Professor remarks with mock petulance.
