Yashin grunts in agreement as he directs the wagon down the road to Nighstone "Sounds like a plan, a good meal and a warm fire will be nice. Perhaps we can find out more about the road ahead of us, or the Yuan-Ti we met along the road." He grins at Brock wickedly "And we still have a game of drinks to settle at some point!"
"I don't mind pushing a little onwards, but we shouldn't delay in there."Kerah expresses his opinion. "We're on a race, I remind you. We can relax or make such trades after we're done with that. For now, let us focus on our objective. We need to get to the appointed place as soon as possible. That is what the gods wish."
You travel down the side road for about ten minutes before you come into sight of the village. It is surrounded by a tall wooden wall, with a keep on a hill overlooking the village. The keep is connected to the village by a long bridge, that runs down, over the wooden wall, ending inside of the village. A river runs just outside of the wooden wall closest to you, with a drawbridge lowered to span the river. There are guards at the gate to the village, but they do not even question you upon your arrival, clearly not worried by your arrival.
Inside the village you easily find the single inn. It is located just inside the gates and has roomn for you each to ahve a room if you wish. What is everyone doing as you settle in?
Ssej doesn't see anything amiss as they look over the town.
Entering the Inn, Ssej will approach the bartender, "We need roomss for the night and sstabless for our horssess. Then a quiet corner so we can eat some food in peace. Pleasse ssend over a variety of food and ale ass well." Then he will look around the place, "Any chance you can jusst closse for the night and entertain jusst our group. We do not want to be dissturbed tonight." As Ssej pulls out 100gp and places the money on the bar, his hand not lifting from them just yet.
Yashin secures the wagons and extra horses in the stable and makes his way to the inn. He grabs an ale and, while Ssej negotiates with the bartender, makes his way across the room, looking for any locals that he can talk with to gather information on the road ahead. "Good evening, friends"he smiles "What can you tell us of the roads to the south? We ran into a little trouble with bandits on the way here and would like to avoid future surprises. Oh, and can you recommend a blacksmith or trader? We happen to have some equipment and goods to sell." His smile turns a little wicked "Seems those bandits ran into a little trouble of their own and no longer need them."
"By all means." The inkeep says to Ssej, nodding quite quickly as they eye the mound of gold. "I'll kick all of em out of here and ye can be having the place all to yourself." He starts moving through the place, ousting the locals and sending them out the door.

The inkeep comes up to you as you are speaking, ready to send the locals you are speaking with out the door. Before he does so the locals turn to you...
"The smith be just next door." One says to you, eyeing the inkeep with a grumpy glare. "Might be you'd get a better price if yer friend there didn't just flash all that gold, and get us all kicked out of here though..." He grunts as the inkeep shooes him to the door, and then heads out with a huff.
Senna helps Yashin and Valor move the horses into the stables and get them fed.
After that she will try and find another faction agent of the Order of the Gauntlet. If this town does not have one she will find a regular messenger service instead (like a raven service).
She will write a letter for Captain Brogmir Longhorn of the Order of the Gauntlet.
Dear Captain Longhorn,
I hope this letter finds you well. Rest assured I am safe. In a manner of speaking. I have undergone a mission of great importance and found some new and interesting companions. I have even met Laeral Silverhand in Waterdeep. While i would love to share details with you some time i fear the risks are to great to share them in this letter. Our mission and path has been known to our enemy already. I fear a spy might be present in Waterdeep. For the safety of the group and the people of Waterdeep i ask you to urge our Orders representatives to seek out Laerel and perhaps work together with caution.
Kind regards, Senna
With the message sent she will join the others at the inn. Most likely seeing it fairly empty with the former customers out on the streets complaining about the big spenders.
Moving into the inn she will be glad to get some ale and sit down after a few days on the road.
"My undersstanding wass we were here to ssleep and then move on, don't we have more important matterss to attend to farther up the road?" Ssej says as he sits down grabs his ale and waits for the food to arrive.
"Enh, we have been ambusshed once already, I do not want to be ambusshed again insside the tavern and worry about thesse townssfolk getting in my way of the killing." And then when the barkeep comes over with food and ale, "If we are attacked insside thiss tavern I only need to worry about not killing this one man, than anyone else." As Ssej points to the barkeep.
The inkeep looks a bit pale as Ssej speaks of ambushes and people Ssej doesn't need to kill. He swallows hard as he turns to Brock. "A keg?" He stammers a bit as he asks his short question. "Well, a keg would be 1 gold piece." Turning back to Ssej. "I do have some staff in the kitchen, please put those on your list... Or I can send them away, if you are done ordering food..." Platters of food have been presented by this point.
Ssej grins at the innkeeper, "Noted. If I am able I will keep them alive as well as I have no quarrel with them." As Ssej digs into the food hungrily and then stands, "Can you escort me to the kitchen please so I can take a look at the rest of your staff."
Ssej will follow along behind the innkeeper, and once in the kitchen will nod his head at each staff member and then turn back to the Innkeeper, "The others do not need to know about this part of our arrangement," handing over another small bag of gold, "This is to be split between the guests that you had to kick out of the place. I tend to be overly cautious in my line of work and I do not want your good name and reputation to be harmed by that. Which keg is your finest ale and I will bring it out to the others."
Ssej will gab the keg and heft it over his shoulder and make his way back to the others, turning and looking back over his shoulder, huge tooth filled grin spreading on his face, "Please do make sure the other townsfolk that were kicked out get their share, I would hate to have to remove your name from my list."
Ssej hands over another 100gp to the innkeeper.
"Companions, I am assured that this is the finest Ale they have in the place, enjoy." As Ssej drops the Keg onto the cable in front of Brock.
Valor only listens and eats sparingly. He will make mental notes of where the door is located, any other exits, and any other problem areas that might keep the party from surviving a simple night in an inn.
The inkeep takes the pouch offered by Ssej. When pressed on giving it to the other townsfolk he pales. "Of course, I would not wish to be taken off your list..." He blanches as the words come out. "I'll make quite certain it gets passed out, don't you worry." He stays in the kitchen as Ssej moves back to the common room with the keg of ale.
As the music plays out onto the street from the tavern several townsfolk gather there, applauding as the song finishes. <b

Ssej will roam a bit ahead of the wagon keeping a look out for any ambushers and peeking in onto the town to see if anything is amiss.

"Ahh you didn't need to kick them out Scales. No fun without other folks in the tavern," says Brock shaking his head as people leaved.

As he plays he sits by a one of the inns open windows letting his playing echo out into the town square. He plays a sad song of parting.
