So, Clayton's Suggestion makes Bree scream and clutch her head like a bad horror movie, and when she eventually recovers, her current mind has reasserted control. We'll have to try again another time. *****y Bree is back.
OOC > The tiefling siblings have gone all in, Bree took Flames of Phlegethos back at 4th level, so she's more fiery than normal.
I'm not clear on what is happening in the Gallery of Tricksters. Oil pans? Bursting into flames? I assume that each of us has at least one puzzle cube, since there are nine of them (right?) and only a few of us. East? Is that at the end of the Gallery? Bree will go look, but will not be first.

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
Yeah. Each statue is in a basin of oil. As you approach the statues, for each puzzle cube you have collected, the basin of oil lights up at the appropriate god. And west. I meant to say west. That's what I get when I try and hustle out a paragraph haha.
At rest that night, Papazotl retreats a bit, letting Bree explore her (now ancient) memories of her previous life. She sits awkwardly at first, next to Mal, but slowly leans into him, becoming more comfortable. She turns to Shariel, "Is there anything in your, training, that would let you tap my memories, of Mal if nothing else, and let me feel them wholly again? They are not gone, I get flashes, but there has been so much since then..." She looks hopeful. "I have been cast out of where I was, I don't know why, but I'd just as soon forget that now, and remember my life before more clearly. It seems," she smiles at Mal, "It was... awesome. From what you've all told me, I took a great deal of pleasure in the small wonders around us. It is hard to appreciate them now when I've seen the splendors of the celestial plains, the structures of Angelguard, and the rivers and valleys of Eventide. I would like to recapture that easy wonder. Can you help?" Her eyes flash to glowing white as she casts her mind back, but return to normal quickly.
Shariel is happy to see Bree's interest, "I would love to assist you in this task. I have projected myself across a sea of consciousness in the past, but it is less of a journey than one may think." She thinks on it for a long moment before producing a waterskin, "Think of it like pulling water from this: There are countless drops within, but I can only be given a small bit at a time," she tips the opening, splashing a bit onto her hand before righting the nozzle, "Worse still, I have only fleeting insights as to the source of these memories. If I could, I would delve into your mind and pull whatever I could. I would also admit, there is a chance I would not return as your life between this and the last fascinates me."
"I feel as though I stand on the precipice between worlds when I Step across this. Syndra expressed it like this: A curtain covers a window outside. I Step behind the mirror and appear on the other side, but while behind the curtain, I am just a breadth away from slipping to the outside." Shariel stares at her limbs, as though they may slip away at any moment, "I have to find someone when we are done here. If it means I need to open the window and explore what's hidden behind my curtain, then you and Mal are welcome to join me. It may be that he resides with your former self."

You guys are doing really good in the role-playing department. It's been great reading what you all write. I have to admit, i'm gonna get a little sentimental and say i miss Yasei. She was good, too.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Bree
In a fit of pique, Bree raises her hands and (Control Flames) the fires in the oil pans flare up brightly, hot. She is angry about her lost self. Papazotl is impatient with her. She has been too honest, too forthright, for his taste.
Then she stops and looks around, the fires cooling back to normal. "Wait, there are nine trickster gods, and only eight statues. Where is the ninth? Who is missing? How many cubes to we have? Which trickster god is not here, which one does not have an antagonist to face off against?" She marches down the Gallery, peering at the statues.
OOC > Passive perception is only 10, but if she is actively looking, she gets advantage with Papazotl on board: 19
OOC > Hell yes, natural 20!
"I believe the ninth may be through this wall," she says, approaching the secret door.
A secret door is very clear to your senses, with that nat20 - you have a moment of complete clarity and you draw upon the sensory perceptions you have honed by living in multiple eternities. Amazingly, your mind is able to remain stable with the information.
Unhk is the one that is missing. His statue and oil bowl is beyond the door.
You also find 25gp worth of coins and gems. Nice job!
Previous night: Spectacles sitting crooked on his nose Slither looks up from his book. "Bree, Maybe Slither can help you, yes? Tell you what you must do to find yourself within you, yes? Slither knows a ritual. You will need a few things. You need tokens of your past and tokens of your now yes? You need someone who knows your past to guide old you home, and someone from your now to guide new you to a new home yes? You'll need a vessel too. And you'll need smart food to eat to prepare you, like a fresh brain, no? Maybe a few other things Slither can find."
1. ACERERAK'S WARNING - There is an obelisk here with writing on it. 2. GALLERY OF TRICKSTERS - Off to the east is a hallway with statues. - EXPLORED 3. ENTRANCE 1 - Northwards, this appears to be one of the two entrances to the Tomb with a door that is open. - OPEN 4. ENTRANCE 2 - Eastwards, this appears to be another entrance to the Tomb with a door that is closed and locked. - OPEN
The gargoyles continue to watch you as you explore the immediate area. They are not hostile.
She pockets the treasure (really old habits still die hard). "It would appear the snail has no natural enemy. Keep that in mind."
All for going in via door number 4. As the party crosses the open area in front of 1 and 3, she makes eye contact with each gargoyle in turn, doing the 'I'm watching you,' sign with two fingers from her eyes to theirs.

When Mal enters the room he gives a small, respectful nod to Ijin's statue. 'Thanks for keeping me alive buddy. Glad someone else besides Bree sees me worthy enough to keep around.'
As the flames flicker up violently, he turns to and quickly walks over to put a comforting hand on her shoulder.

I don't know what you're talking about. /shifty eyes.
Clayton will look down the corridor that once had a closed door. Entrance 2. Is it open?

Entrance 3 is open and unlocked.
Nothing else has changed.
“Oh, would you look at that. I guess the first one was a false entrance to trap some eager adventurers, glad we checked the statues.”
