The King of Feathers continues to lumber down the main street of The Forbidden City, "drooling" zombies as he thunders down toward the Amphitheater. You will have a certain amount of "time" to complete the trial of this shrine, or else the King will "smell" you all and converge on your location, most likely leading to your deaths, or something else interesting. I will decide the amount of time you have after reading the trial when I get home, but this encounter WILL be timed.

Once you make it to the riddle, i'll decide the time limit. No life forms other than the crocodiles are being detected, and whoever is being partnered with Kubazan is about the throw up.
OOC: sorry, out having a valentines dinner with the fam. Yasei will open the door...I just need to see her character sheet once I get home to figure out what her STR adder is. Hold your horses...err, dinosaurs.
(Wait, isn't it a DC 12 and you can only attempt with a 20 STR?)

Bree nods as Yasei pushes the doors open, like this is naturally what should happen. She strides through (into 16C) once the doors have been opened for her.
OOC > Was out at game night: played Magic Maze, Codenames, and Karuba.

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
Yasei's muscles bulge as she lifts the 600 pound door to reveal the Chamber of Command. Not too shabby!
An empty pedestal stands in the middle of this chamber at 16C. Six statues face it from from alcoves on the walls. They depict bare-chested humans with the heads of different animals. From left to right, the heads resemble those of a lizard, a jaguar, a lobster, a toucan, a bat, and a frog. On the pedestal is a riddle inscribed on its base.
COMES WITH SUNSHINE LEAVES WITH NIGHT HIDES IN DARKNESS DOES NOT BITE ALWAYS JOINED TO ITS CASTER NEVER STRAYS FROM ITS MASTER
What is the riddle referring to? What's the answer? Could be anything, but it's something. Whatever it is, it's a clue to use on one of the statues in this area. From this moment on, you have (20 posts) to solve it and reveal the puzzle cube before The King of Feathers detects your scent and enters the area. My posts do not count towards the 20. Only when YOU guys post. And i'm not answering any questions. But I will describe what happens as you go from beginning to end. Good luck!
Clayton will place the frog on the pedestal. The riddle seems like a mockery of Kubazan. Wait nevermind, I thought they were small statues. “Maybe it’s light. Light can be cast and it surrounds the sun, it’s master.”
Mal looks around the room nervously, before his eyes fall on the floor next to him.
"Wait," he mumbles. No it can't be. He steps up to the statues and yells up at them."It's a Shadow. Always with you, but only seen in the day, doesn't bite, and never strays. Hell its the one thing I can cast! A Shadow!"
He waits quietly for some sort of answer, tailing swaying nervously behind him.
She beams at her brother. "That's my brother!" she says looking around. Then she goes for a high five, tries to make him miss, and is only a little put out when his god-enhanced dexterity foils her.
”I’m not sure we can get a light source behind these guys, in their alcoves. I think we need to cast the shadow of this pedestal onto one of the statues. Anyone have a Light?”
If it is too light in the room, Bree will direct lowly Kuba- I mean, Yasei, to close the door again.
Once a light has been produced, she will take it (or direct it) to walk around the pedestal, casting the shadow on each statue in turn until something happens, or every statue has been touched.

Last to know and first to be blamed...
As a free action, can I regret my life choices?
Uh. DnD > Family?
True dat.
Yasei’s STR check to open the door: 16
oops, that was a STR saving throw. Subtract 3 from that = 26. Still successful!
