Tumbledown ruins cling to the lip of a rift overlooking a lake of bubbling lava. Besides the fact that it's a beautiful view, there is nothing immediately found in this area, except a foreboding feeling that something extremely powerful is watching you all.

A fallen tree bridges the river ahead. Its trunk is wider than a man and stretches more than 100 feet. On both banks lie ruined buildings. Crossing the tree is the only way across.
You need to make DC 14 STR (Athletics) checks to cross the tree to Area 8.
Bree, you are detecting a lone life form hiding among the ruins on the left side beyond the tree.

"Guys, there's something hiding in the ruins to the left, after we cross on the tree." Keeping an eye on that ruin, she gets her rope out again, and hands the other end to Mal. She is not very athletic.

When she arrives on the other side, she jumps up and down and sticks her tongue out at Mal. "Who's the baddest of the bad?" and she does a little dance. Then she unties herself and lets Mal pull the rope back across. Then she pays attention to the ruins to the north.
OOC > So... is Mage Armor still in effect? Eight hour duration. Basically, she re-casts it after every long rest, but we haven't specified a long rest in a while (despite traipsing all over Omu). If it is, or if we've had a long rest and she would have re-cast it, she'll use Shield to get her AC up. If not, Shield won't help with a 20, and she'll do something else.

Mal frowns at Bree's sudden shift in mood. "Are you sure you're alright? Where did you go, that makes you want to return so badly?" He asks quietly. He holds her close and lets out a deep sigh.
"I'm sorry B, but I think we're too far along ta stop now. Hopefully this will all be over soon and we can get that reward the old man promised us. The we'll head back to Drekenwall, get some of those sweets I saw you eyeing last time we were there." He'll hold Bree until she's ready to get down.
Mal lets Bree cross, watches Slither's failure, and then turns and ties the rope to the sturdiest thing he can find. If there is nothing there he'll give it to Yasei cause she's crazy strong. He then crosses with the other end. Athletics:19
