Autumnleafcartwheels here and there as they walk, making funny faces at herself in the mirror, giggling and enjoying seeing herself in the various stages of her life, even primping a bit when she gets to the mirrors that reflect her current self, though given the awful color coordination of her outfit and the ridiculous pair of fake wings jutting from her front, it seems rather silly. As they reach the section where Ruben is, she spots him with a start."Oh, dear Ruben, it couldn't be clearer, your woes have left you vulnerable to spooks in the mirror. Come come, lover lorn, you were mistaken in assuming your lover's scorn."Autumnleafsays, quickly flying up to the Halfling as she speaks.
As Speedwell walks through the mirrors, he sees a young bunny Harengone, bright blue eyes, and a brownish colored fur with hints of green. His younger reflection is smiling, almost giddy with the ignorances of youth. As his reflection ages, his demeanor gets more serious. His eyes become worn with gritty experience. They’re still blue, but there is a depth there that was missing in his younger reflection. By the end, his features appear worn. His fur is tan except for the white of his muzzle and the tops of his ears. His posture is hunched with the aches and pains of age. His eyes look almost gray, at that point, and there is a certain sense of contentment there as if his elder self knows that he ran the race he set out to run and he did okay, even if he made a few mistakes along the way.
When he gets to Rubin, he hears Autumnleaf’s words, and even though he is heavy with introspection, he feels empathy for the halfling. “Who was that little girl in the mirror and what was she saying to you,” he asks.
Giovani walks past the mirrors, examining them but not too much. Like he’s looking at someone else.
The mirror starts at a confident young harengone with lustrous black fur and ordinary clothes. It becomes a tall, fit but gawky harengone, then quickly changes to a handsome, but miserable looking man. Then it shifts to himself, before progressing to a more full figured adult, then adding more paunch and some silver to the fur. Finally, it all goes silver, but he still has that handsome look and smug aloofness to him.
He stops to look at the aged bag of bones in the last mirror. He still holds himself as tall as he can, but his bones show through everywhere. Aches and pains abound, but the smile stays on.
Giovani turns away with a sigh. “This must be the boy here. Surely he understands it was a mistake, easily rectified.”

Inif walks through the hall of mirrors, seeing a young skinnier version of himself as a youth. He looks deeply into his young reflection's eyes, to see what depth of insight is reflected in his eyes. A more developed Inif appears as he passes further through the tent. The body changing as he transformed himself, when he started upon his path. Inif becomes very curious as his form moves towards a future self, and an older gentler visage appears.
"Is this the illusion I see for myself or that which is presented me? It is a mask of the soul or an echo of a voice? It is a distraction and presumptuous to present anything but my current self."
Inif is perplexed to see the little girl in the pig mask. "Is this illusion or obscurement?" Inif focuses his will to see through the illusion and understand if other presence was here. Inif reaches out, first physically with his hand and then psionically with his mage hand to inspect the mirror.
Investigation: 12 to see through illusion
Arcana: 24 or Nature: 17 to understand if the little girl was magic effect or creature
Note, the rolls went screwy when I realized I didn't end a tag properly. When I corrected it, the rolls show differently. I think all the underlining rolls are the same though.
“I… uh… yes… Thank you. I should get back to Ween. Though I may have lost my way when dashing in.” Rubin says, then looking to Speedwell and answers, “She… she asked me if I had any regrets, and when I said that I did that I should follow her, as she knew someone who could help me.” He then reaches out to the mirror just as Inif does the same, and both find it solid as your hand meets the reflection of your aged hands. Racking your brain for the magic of these mirrors, Inif unfortunately can think of no specific spell or incantation that would do this. It must be something unique to the carnival.
Let me know if there is more you’d like to do in here.
“In a house of illusions? I bet it’s either a reliving of the memory- playing it out the way you prefer-, or memory modification. Either is… not for me. But you all are welcome to do this.” Giovani looks decidedly out off at this idea.
Autumnleafpats him on the shoulder."Regrets are a shared experience for those who live. Be wary of any who say reprieve from them they can give. Such things often lead only to even more regret, so try to be happy in the now, unless sorrow you beget."
What would Autumnleaf know about the girl in the mirror, if anything, and about the kind of magic that is involved in this place?
I'm not sure what check it would be, considering Autumnleaf's history, so I'm going to roll 2 d20's for advantage/disadvantage if applicable, and can add whatever you deem appropriate for the check.

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
If you think my puns are bad, I'll remind you, my profile pic says otherwise.
Unfortunately Autumnleaf really doesn't recognize the girl, and the magic of the mirrors seems unique to the carnival itself, you've seen it many times before, and never get tired of it, yet have also never seen anything quite like it elsewhere.
As you make your ways out, with Autumnleaf's expert guidance, Rubin and Ween are brought back together and they immediately embrace where Ween replies that she cannot wait to marry Rubin. He thanks you all for your help, and the two of them head off into the carnival, their moods seeming to carry to everyone around, brightening the atmosphere of the entire carnival a bit.
As you watch the happy couple dash off, standing in front of the Hall of Illusions and a smiling monochrome mime, you begin to hear Cryers call out that the Big Top Extravaganza will be beginning shortly. 'Come one, come all!' they cry out.
As you follow the crowds into the big tent you all manage to find seats just a few row back from the front. Looking around you see that the tent quickly fills up around you.
The lights dim and a hush falls over the crowd. A second later, a spotlight illuminates a lithe, elven figure sitting in a silver hoop, suspended above the center ring by silk ropes. The elf wears a dazzling suit of diamond-pane mirrors and a pair of butterfly wings. His scepter is topped with a spinning vane.
“Welcome, one and all, to this evening’s extravaganza! I am Mister Light. Prepare to be delighted!”
The extravaganza involves several of the carnival’s star performers and attractions, with Mister Light serving as ringmaster. Over the course of an hour, Burly the bugbear performs feats of strength, Palasha the mermaid serenades the audience from a clamshell bathing pool, Candlefoot the mime plays silent games with audience members, and faerie dragons with bright streamers tied to their tails perform dazzling acts of synchronized flying as a troupe of acrobats, clowns, and fire-breathers parade about. Near the end of the show, Mister Light comes back out and says, "What a show! What a show! And now that we have performed for you, we open up the floor! Who here might like to come up and show what they've got?"
As you look around you see a couple half-elves prodded by their friends finally succumb to peer pressure and go up to perform a simple juggling act. It's not terrible, and the crowd humors them, but after just a minute or so they drop a ball and hurry back to their seat. Next, the happy halfling couple from just a bit ago come down and perform a dance from their village which riles up the crowd and everyone seems to enjoy it. Finally a young gnome in tattered leathers comes forward to show some simple illusion magic which gets some applause and a couple coins from those in the front row before quickly disappearing back into the crowd.
Please RP what type of audience member you are, ie. would you join in with the jokes? play the games? heckle?... Also add if you'd like to do a performance at the end of the show (individually or as a group), and if so, what type of performance (plus a performance roll for fun~).
Giovani is happy to play the games, and tosses some copper coins out to every performer whether or not they suck.
“You know, what is a circus without a bit of danger and: knife throwing or some such. Get me an apple, Speedwell, and I’ll be your assistant with the target.”
I’d like Giovani to cast heroism when the time comes

Inif turns to his companions, "Perhaps a showcase of our talents would be entertaining." He looks out into the audience for the food vendors. "We'll need a few apples for our demonstration..."
Speedwell and Inif stand back-to-back, while Giovani assists in placing one apple each of their heads. Autumnleaf flutters by a faerie dragon and borrows a piece of bright streamer to create a blindfold for Speedwell. The monk and ranger take three slow steps away from each other. Autumnleaf whispers to the spirits of nature a collection of butterflies appear and start flittering away signaling Speedwell to begin.
Speedwell takes his first shot with his hand crossbow, shooting the apple off Inif's head while blind-folded. The second bolt flies towards Inif, but the monk catches it and throws it back towards Speedwell's apple. The clockwork amulet assures it strikes with certainty. The troupe bows and the group returns to their seats.
The group goes down for an impromptu performance, setting things up and giving it their all. Though Speedwell's shots go a bit wild, and it's clear he's a bit nervous on stage, Inif manages to catch them and with a flourish send them flying back. Autumnleaf and Giovani in the background help to give the show a bit more atmosphere juggling apples or summoning butterflies.
While the team, and the other open-stage performers show their skills, about half of the audience files out to continue enjoying the carnival, but the other half stays around and enjoys the show. At the end, Mister Light comes out again and says with a big grin, "Thank you all for your wonderful performances! Tonight's carnival is all the happier for the fun you've shown us!"He then heads backstage and out of sight.
It is now the beginning of the fifth hour of the carnival. What would you like to do?
