As Inif responds to the trees the move slightly out of the way and gesture for the group to follow. They then begin walking up the hill with the group as a sort of escort, and Speedwell can tell that, at least at the moment, they are not threatening the group. As you walk they reply, "How can Jingle Jangle help you? Though it is good you've come. After meeting with some brigands a few days back she has not left the Hill, and is likely quite hungry."

Autumnleafconsiders the tree's words, flying along, still staying close behind Speedwell.
As an unusual individual herself, the way that was worded makes her think they want to feed us to her, so she's trying to insight whether that's the case or not lol

Karib clears his throat, "Um...hmmm...what food does this ahhh....Jingle Jangle..." he looks to his companions briefly, making sure he has the name right, "...enjoy?"
As you walk, and appear generally friendly, you all notice that all of the trees on the Hill seem to be moving a bit away, opening the path on which you walk. Your guide trees reply, "Jingle Jangle often hunts for truffles."It them almost seems to chuckle in it's deep rumble as it adds, "We do hope you are prepared to talk of keys. She enjoys little else." At this, Sir Talavar perks up and says from his cage, "If anyone will have the key to this confounded cage it's likely to be her."
As you approach the top of the hill you find a cave with an entryway shaped like a keyhole. The trees continue to escort you, partially as guides, and, you get the feeling, partially as guards, and stop at the top of the hill waiting for you to head towards the cave, or answer any more questions you may have.
Autumnleaffollows along, her eyes swirling a pink hue for a moment and her hands landing on Speedwells shoulders from where she's fluttering behind him, leaning in to whisper into the pinna of one of his leporid ears."Much anticipation building in me, about this Jingle Jangle we'll see. Are you similarly excited, or perhaps your heart is fearfully blighted?"

Worn stone steps lead down into what feels like a cellar. It’s chilly in here, and you detect a subtle scent of iron in the air. From a distant spot within the chamber, sputtering candles illuminate a multitude of keys dangling from taut strings that crisscross the walls. Hundreds of other keys lie strewn across the dirt floor. The oval-shaped den is 20 feet wide, 30 feet long, and 6 feet tall, with a smaller chamber at the back.
As you take in the scene, you hear the sound of keys jingling as a goblin emerges from the dimness. She wears a coat lined with metal keys and carries a flail that has padlocks for heads. She manages a faint smile and says, “How might Jingle Jangle unlock a bit of happiness in your lives today?”
After hearing Inif ask for the key, Jingle Jangle offers it, saying, “Better you should have it than those long-eared brigands. First they stole Jingle Jangle’s truffles. Next, they’ll want Jingle Jangle’s keys. Someone ought to give them a good shaking down so they know what it feels like!”
Autumnleafputs her hands on her hips."Hmph, those rascals attempted to abscond with our memories of cherished times. I put the fear in them, but someone ought to make them pay for their crimes."

Initially spooked at Autumnleaf's approach with the creepy toothy whispering in his ear while he's trying to focus on the interior of [what I presume is] a dark cave, he says, "Anticipation is a good word. I don't think I'd describe it as excited, though. I don't trust anything I see - this is such a strange world."
Autumnleafputs her hands on her hips."Hmph, those rascals attempted to abscond with our memories of cherished times. I put the fear in them, but someone ought to make them pay for their crimes."
Feeling relieved that Jingle Jangle isn't going to try to eat them, the 3'4" tall Harengone relaxes a bit. "I don't like bullies," Speedwell says. "Do you know where the brigands are most likely to be holed up?"
Karib, still trying to come to terms with the strange land, watches the exchange between his companions and the peculiar Jingle Jangle. He nods at the Speedswell's words. "Aye, 'tis a strange place indeed." Says the man speaking to the giant talking rabbit. He shakes his head.
As the key is offered, he looks more closely at the creature, a look of confusion on his face. "How is it that you came by the key, good sir?"
"Jingle Jangle collects keys! Not sure how I found that one... but Jingle Jangle always has the right key. Jingle Jangle will never be caught on the wrong side of a locked door again! Nope nope!" the Goblin replies to Carlos, adding to Speedwell, "The Brigands have a Tollway that's a bunch of old wooden catwalks around a giant tree stump. They camp atop the stump because it gives them a better view. Be careful of Agdon Longscarf! He's the leader! He wears a bright blue scarf and moves as fast as lightning!"
What would you like to do? ((note: while the cave isn't bright, there are "sputtering candles illuminat[ing]" the room, so even without Darkvision you can see))
Karib nods, "A fine offer. Where I come from it is a sad truth that gifts are rarely given to strangers. Is there a service that you seek from us in return?" This has to be a dream. Karib starts trying to recall his recent past, looking for a time he might has acquired a head wound.
"How kind you are to Jingle Jangle!"The goblin says happily. "If you haven't got any truffles a tasty snack or drink would be much appreciated! Also, just knowing that you'll get back at those nasty big ears..."She then pauses and turns a bit red looking at speedwell, adding a quick, "ah... not all.."before continuing, "...that'll be enough."Then seeing Karib's look of confusion or amazement or disbelief, adds, "If you go to Downfall...""That's where Bavlorna lives."Sir Talavar quickly interjects. "...look for a scarecrow with claw hands. He's the best guide here in Hither."

Inif listens and smiles at the joy of their newfound friend expresses for keys, but is concerned about the mention of 'other side of a locked door'. "Were you captured, Jingle Jangle? I'm sure that was quite troubling. Having the right key is wonderful, but it's not possible to be prepared for every situation."
Insight: 18
Inif takes the key and tries to unlock the cage to free Sir Talavar, while listening to details of the Harengone bandit hideout. "Jingle Jangle, how do you suggest an approach so that we might be unseen? Do we need to pass through the Tollway to reach Downfall? The path is unclear."
Inif points out towards the entangled tower. "What can you tell us about the tower? There are two large serpents nested on the outside."
"How kind you are to Jingle Jangle!"The goblin says happily. "If you haven't got any truffles a tasty snack or drink would be much appreciated! Also, just knowing that you'll get back at those nasty big ears..."She then pauses and turns a bit red looking at speedwell, adding a quick, "ah... not all.."before continuing..
”Don’t worry,” Speedwell assuages. “I understand. No offense was taken. And yes, any insight you can give us on the safest ways to proceed would be helpful.”
"No no. Never trapped. But scared of being trapped! But now Jingle Jangle is not scared! Jingle Jangle has keys!"It seems to Inif that her obsession with the keys is a rather unhealthy, and perhaps unnatural, but has become a integral part of the goblin's personality. She also does seem genuinely hungry and thirsty.
As you open the cage Sir Talavar leans out, stretches his wings, and begins to fly next to you all, saying, "Ah! Thank you my friends! It is good to be able to move again." Listening to you speak he says, "I can give you some information about that as well. First, the tower seemed rather empty from the perch where you rescued me from. Autumnleaf here likely saw the same. It is very fortunate that she too is able to fly, or you would have had to climb the tower to rescue me."
Through the rest of the discussion with the two 'locals' you learn that the Brigand's Tollway is held by the Harengone crew, lead by Agdon Longscarf.
They have always been trouble, but since the Hag has taken over in Hither they've become much more bold in their actions.
The way to Downfall, where Bavlorna Blightstraw lives, is through their tollway, and then you'll likely need a boat or raft.
The waters in this land often are too high to walk through.

Speedwell stands by in silent agreement as his Easter-egg blue eyes inspect the trees and contemplates their demeanor.

Karib nods at the answer, and smiles in relief. "Thank you. I guess we should proceed." He waits to follow the others into the cave.
Inif bows to the trees, "I believe a key is the primary reason we are here, thank you."
The monk walks forward into the cave and calls out "Hello, Jingle Jangle? We have a friend trapped in a cage and are in need of your assistance."
