"I can try and open this chest with my tools... Seems like brute force didn't work this time around...", Elysis says as she is peeking around the corner of the room.

She comes closer to the chest, getting her tools out of her bag, trying to pick the lock open.

As you very quickly, as if you had done this lock a thousand times before, quickly pick it open, you open up the chest and inside, is a silvered shortsword.

Everyone;

As a reminder, since it has been a while, the other exit to this room, is 2 sets of stairs leading up, with a hallway that breaks up the 2 stair sets.

((I deeply apologize for the lack of posting. If any of you have lost interest, I understand.))

Once the contents from the chests have been retrieved, Janek will grab a touch and peer down the hallway they had not yet been down.  (I think we came from the SE corner and would go out the SW.)

Ignatia moves up the stairs carefully and looks around the hall.

To those who peek down the hall;

You see the hall extends about 20ft before it appears to descend down, via a set of stairs. It also appears another hall branches off right before the stairs. You can also continue up the stairs without going down this hall you looked down.

"I found this short sword in the chest... It seems to be silvered, might be of help if we encounter some creatures...", Elysis says as she joins the group ahead.

"Careful where we step, we don't know if there is a trap in here...", as she scans the stairs, looking for details that could signal a trap as she did for the other one.

"A good find there Elysis, be sure to keep it close to hand."  Vorser follows the group allowing Elysis to scan for any traps.

Janek says, "Down the hall?"  He points to the long passage on the right.  (to the west)

Elysis;

Vorser nods towards Janek before turning to Elysis to make sure the way is safe.

"How are the two of you holding up, are the ghosts of those children bothering you?"  he asks towardsDurant and Ignatia

Elysis looks at Vorser.

"The way seems fine to me... I see nothing suspicious..."

Janek will lead the way, carrying a torch, down the hallway, trying to keep his eyes open for any hazards.  He will continue until he notices something or comes to an intersection. (Perception: 20)

Ignatia shadowed Janek, brushing off the question about her Passenger with, " Oh, she's a delight."

Durant responds with a nod, a bead of sweat welling up on his forehead. "This one doesn't put me at ease if you be asking. Other than, I'll be alright. Let's keep moving." he says, pointing his warhammer down the long hall.

Ignatia continues on shadowing Janek.

As you make your way down this hall, the chanting you heard earlier, is getting much much louder now, and quickly.

Everyone;

As Janek leads the party, you can all hear the floor begin to creak, and then Janek starts to feel it bow, but before he can react, the floor gives out and he falls 10ft into a spiked pit. He lands on one of the spikes sticking up and it pierces his armor and skin slightly before he rolls off of it and lands on the ground, prone.
