Ingot casts earth tremor with a first-level spell slot to attempt to knock over the entrance. Ingot doesn't like being ordered around. He saw the cave, he wanted to look inside, now he will get inside. Rolled 6 damage.
Tallis holds out a hand as he stares down the imposing door. A swirl of shadows convalesce into his palm, then extrude into a narrow, curved arc. The black band holds firm in the man's hand as though it were solid fog. "I think we may need to go hunting. Hopefully not much, but maybe we provide a corpse to open the way."

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
With a long breath, Tallis pulls on the wispy bow. A trail of inky smoke draws out from his hand to form an arrow, nocked and ready to fire. "Sorry," the man mumbled as he releases the projectile.
((Longbow Attack: 27, for 10 damage....wow good damage for a very poor attack roll))

Tallis will drag the body to the door, even spread a bit of blood on the entrance in case a corpse being nearby isn't enough

Tallis will drag the body to the door, even spread a bit of blood on the entrance in case a corpse being nearby isn't enough
As you spread the blood on the entrance, previously wall-coloured runes glow bright blue, and the door shifts open with a loud rumble. Past the doorway you can see a tunnel going down for a very long distance.
(edited because I was not supposed to put the exposition here. Also I apologise for railroading this first bit, but the module gives me nothing.)
On your way to the Cave of Lights, you approach a mountain, surrounded by woods. The scholar Ardell Hoyt, a male gnome, says, "Here we are.".
The entrance looks like a large door, carved into the base of the mountain. There is an inscription on the door, upon which is written:
Turn around young stranger, aren’t you someone’s son?
You shouldn’t have found this cave, it isn’t where you belong.
This path will only be opened to the dead
So, step aside, let them in instead If you are still living, still in your prime:
Don’t worry, the cave will take you when its time
Is the inscription in common?
As a cleric, do I sense anything coming from the door/entrance?
What does the area around the door look like, is there any indication, marks on the ground it has been open recently?
Do we have a specific task or quest in the cave?
Ingot casts earth tremor with a first-level spell slot to attempt to knock over the entrance. Ingot doesn't like being ordered around. He saw the cave, he wanted to look inside, now he will get inside. Rolled 6 damage.
Friar Tuckerman waits in anticipation
It is in Common, there are no marks on the ground as it looks like it has not been opened in many years.
Area gets damaged, animals in nearby woods spooked, but the door remains unblemished.
I slice myself across the chest, showing I am not in my prime

Ingot stands in awe of the runes and the hallway.
Well if you really want to do it, make an attack roll with AC of 10 (natural armour/skin)
