Gillian extended his mind into brendan and began to sooth him: “if anyone in town can help you it is those you see before you now.” he looks at Brendan gently.
”we will need to know either a name, a location, or what you know to have any chance of chasing down this madman.” Gillian wonders if Brendan’s priorities are more familial: “whoever would blackmail you by kidnapping your family doesn’t deserve to be protected by you. Let us help you”
A look of surprise crosses Otis' face as he remembers similar symbols. Seeing the others have questioning Brendan under control, he takes the time to try to remember the surface he saw the similar symbol on.
His right hand reaches into his belt pouch to hold the key with his family symbol. Otis' thumb tons over the raised part of the crest.
Farthran gets an odd look on his face for a moment, then turns back to Brendan, "Wait, your son? Brendan, when did this happen? You hadn't told anyone?"Brendan doesn't look up and just stares down at the floor. "The first two times we tried, something happened, they ended up not making it. We didn't think it was meant to be and didn't want to get any hopes up on this one. She gave birth a month ago. That's when he showed up. His name is Victor and I had never seen him before the night Patricia gave birth."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Otis stops handling the key and secures it in his pouch as Brendan tells about his child and the stranger. Otis continues to let the others do the questioning while he thinks about the information provided.
He tries to remember the names of each of the ten who made the shield and who their families are supposed to be. He runs through his memories of Pops telling him how everyone is sort of related to check the name Victor against the lineages or folks who left the village and disappeared or died young.
“Brendan, you have our aid. You know what might help us, so tell us how to find this Victor. How can we help?” Roy stands back still to give Brendan room enough to breath and think.
Brendan looks up with a worried face, "He was at my farm when I left, my wife is still there. He said no harm would come to her if I got the items." A wave of panic washes over his face, "What if he already knows getting the items failed..... what if he hurts her? You have to help her! He already took my son, I can't lose her too!"
Klok: You try to remember the names but aren't completely sure at the moment.
Otis: You have had the tales told to you many times, and while you don't remember the names of the four that died, the survivors names do pop into your head, at least as they have been told in legend.

"Hmm perhaps our next step is Brendan's house...I think it may be unwise for Brendan to accompany us unless.....no, no too risky. What do the rest of you think?"
Gillian turns to prepare for an encounter at the farm,
”we should go be heroes. This isn’t the time for discussion. Roy, lead the way please? I am right behind you… I pray this groups ability and conviction are enough this day”
Otis will head out with the others. "Don't worry Brendan! We will get your wife from Victor. And we will try to find your son as well."
Once outside away from Brendan, Otis will relay to the others, "We should be wary of other complications. One of the shield makers who was banished was known as Victor the beastlord. It is possible we may have some creatures assisting him to deal with."
Falken tucks his newly acquired vial into his bag and approaches Brendan. He places his hand on Brendan's shoulder and gives him a smile while in a calm tone, says "Listen Brendan, I never make promises I can't keep, so I'm not going to promise you we'll get them back, but I will promise you that we will do everything we can to get them back. We'll rid this Victor from your life and you, your son, and your wife will all live a happy life and grow as old as me."
After reassuring Brendan, he follows behind everyone else, trying his best to keep up. "Slow down you whippersnappers! My legs aren't as young as yours!"
Klok thinks for a moment as he walks as fast as he can to keep up "I think it will depend on the animal if this is the beastlord at Brendan's house...Although he was not the one to control glass golems....Peculiar"
You hastily make your way to Brendan's farm a few miles out of town, the shielded dome overhead slowly beginning it's nightly transition to darkness by the time you get there. The farm is a modest size for a small family and you look out to see several fields seeded with various crops growing. As you stop on the outskirts of the farm and look around, you note a stillness in the air and an eerie silence on the winds. Any faint animal noises you are accustomed to hearing normally is completely quiet.
You come around the corner of the house to the front and you notice a figure standing outside facing the front porch. The figure is slightly imposing to say the least, bordering on seven feet tall with wild shoulder length dark hair, he turns his head and smiles, his face sporting an almost out of place neatly groomed moustache and beard. "Brendan? Is that you?"
As the group approaches the tall imposing figure Otis will break off from the group walking out to the right about thirty feet, so as not to be completely grouped up. He mentally reminds himself to not tense up and stay loose. Keeping his knees bent and almost swaying as he moves.
"You must be Victor. Correct? I am afraid Brendan is detained, he tried to steal magical items from the village. Where is Patricia and her son?", Otis will ask while continuing to sway from side to side.
"Hmm he, you say? If you tell us who he is and where he is perhaps we can rescue your family"
Gillian takes in the new information:
familial blackmail? Check.
antagonist “he”? Check.
An attempt to secure the magical items? Check.

but many more questions bubbled to the surface…

Grahl gets up from his seat and moves halfway towards Brendan, We have the magic items. Perhaps we should take them to this Victor.
We will do what we can to get your wife and child back safely.
Grahl gathers his things preparing to venture out then turns back Do you know where to find him?
