As E'lar and Elirion spoke of themselves, Gabin listened in fascinated silence, spending the most of the rest of the hike in thought, though occasionally pitching in his thoughts or observations whenever the group discussed which way they thought the path might be going.
Hearing Elirion's assessment of the path ahead, Gabin says, "Yes, I think it would be prudent to set up here and wait for morning's light to guide us once again. I of course can take a shift if someone wants a second set of eyes in the dark." His golden irises glimmer in the dwindling light, though this also serves to make the dark streaks within even more pronounced.
As they begin to settle in and make camp, Gabin begins working next to E'lar. "So, I hope you don't mind me asking, what brings you here? Do you think the strange goings on in Vermeillon are an issue of natural balance? Is this the sort of thing a Warder of the Wild normally does?"
Tastie looks around for any tracks of animals and also to check and see if they are on the right path. Only thing she realizes is that she is still with her companions and hasn't wandered off on her own.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Lanky checks the surrounding area after Tastie does and indeed after some digging, finds the original trail to Vermeillon. They were on the right path and once that was confirmed, you all settled down for camp. Unless I hear differently, Tastie and E'lar take the first watch.
And as you all go through your rounds watching and resting, it turns out to be a clear and silent evening, and dawn is breaking...
With Lanky's superior survival skills and Elirion’s bird familiar, you are able to stay on the trail even when there are obstacles to overcome, fallen trees, avalanche of rocks and so much overgrowth. Lanky sees you all through. Since you all started at the break of dawn and went straight through, you were able to emerge past a small grove of trees about late afternoon into the village of Vermeillon.
As you enter, the village is eerily quiet. Plants and wildlife have overtaken the crumbling houses. Leafless vines climb rotting walls, birds and other small creatures nest in the exposed rafters, and gnarled trees protrude from the fallen roofs of a few buildings. The overcast sky adds an air of oppression to the scene, seeming to envelop the village.
Elirion pauses at the edge of town and sends her owl aloft again. As she does this, she crouches down and closes her eyes. While her wounds have healed, she still winces as the new flesh stretches. She observes through the eyes and ears of the bird as it circles within the range of their shared senses.
The owl slowly spirals outward at a height of 60', looking down as well as around, with caution. They search for movement or other signs of life (or death) in the area, and Elirion narrates what she is seeing to those around her. When the owl has completed it's final loop, it returns to Elirion as she stands and opens her eyes once more.
Spiraling out to a 100' radius circle, and can presumably see further, but even so not much of town covered, but more than she can see just standing there.
Remi feels better, rested and ready to investigate the town. He steps to the first building on the side of the main road, to the west, the square building with broken down walls. He looks inside, trying to see what may have happened here.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Gabin looks about with a grim expression and murmurs a quiet prayer. He sees Remi heading into the first building on his own and whispers loudly, "Hey wait up,"as he jogs over and pokes his head in after Remi.
Tastie gives a long whistle at the scene before her. She'll follow Remi and Gabin's lead but go to the opposite side - the east, closest building - and take a peek inside.
“If you find anything a miss, holler.” Lanky holds his halberd ready as he walks through the town. He sends his bat ahead of him, to one of the buildings before going to inspect it himself. He’s on edge since they got there, ready to stab anything that would try to harm him as he investigates the building, his familiar helping him with echolocation. investigation: 10 (adv due to aid another)
He realizes his familiar needs a name. “Hmm er what about….Echo?” The bat doesn’t really know what he’s saying but after helping him, lands on his head.
As the team enters the building the feeling of oppression settles in. As Elirion's owl circles the town from above, she gives you a good feeling of the layout of the town, including the tree that Lukas had mentioned earlier. Feels like over a week ago, and you realize that was just they day before yesterday when you met him. Elirion relays to the rest of the group that most of the buildings appear to be open to the elements and falling apart, with only a few still in tact. There is also a graveyard to the NW.
As Remi heads in to the first building on the West side of the main path, the threshold has been pushed up by plants and such and you have to step over to get into the small house. The entire interior of it is covered in vines, dark and emitting a scent that is very unpleasant. There are many shadows and decaying furniture scattered around the place and rotten floorboards that you are unsure is going to continue to hold your weight as you stand there taking it all in. Gabin runs up to join you and peeks inside while Remi is standing in the house.
Tastie - as you peek inside the building to the East, the light doesn't enter this building at all even with the roof open to the elements. You also see the decaying furniture spread around and the darkness that almost appears unnatural.
Lanky starts heading into town a little further having Echo assist in looking around, and as the bat flies around, he notices that the path heading NE out of town is heading to the platinum mines that you all have heard about. Lanky pokes his head into the next building on the West side of the trail and sees furniture and normal family items covered in a thick layer of dust. This particular house has not been over grown with plants and such and you deduce it is because the roof is still in tact.
"Suitably creepy," she yells to the rest. "Pretty grim," she adds as an afterthought. She'll catch up with Lanky as he mosies on down through the boulevard, trying to catch a glimpse of his pet bat and Elirion's owl. I wonder what owls and bats taste like? she thinks, raising an eyebrow. She grins fiendishly and licks her lips. Surely such a common animal is easy to find...
Lanky, seeing no sign of spirits goes to another house to search before stopped by Tastie. "Um hi, have you um found anything? I haven't seen any signs of spirits but uh...maybe they will be out by night. Also uh Echo is off limits, he's too small to eat. Probably not Tastie. I know that's joke is terrible" Maybe small to the bugbear's standards as Echo looks to be a flying fox.

"Hey, Tastie! What are you doing over there?"
Tastie
”Oh! Well that was weird. Have you ever felt you were going somewhere then....time has passed and you’re still where you started?”
She shrugs nonchalantly. “Now what was it that I was going to do...?”
