The merchant smiled, even as he looked the newcomer over. "Faith, is it? You can call me Locke. This--" he pointed to the others in turn, "--is Dex, and Gordon."
Just barely hiding his confusion, Locke continued, "Tell me, friend... I see a spear, but no mail or plate or shield. And you also seem to have a, well, righteous light about you. Are you a cleric, or perhaps a divine sorcerer? That would be fortuitous, as healing was the one skill we seemed lacking in."
(( OOC: That was quick! (And welcome, NycrolB!) I'll start preparing the thread while we roleplay closing the deal--or roleplay declining the offer, if Gordon would prefer a smaller crew. ))
"Come on over and have a seat. We may be heading out soon. A healer would be ideal, but a talented person of any skill is probably sufficient too. Drex Dargo is the name." with a wink to Locke and a smile. A healer sure would help though. I'm game to go as is, but it could be rough too.

Faith comes to the table, seating himself on a chair carefully with his cloak pulled to one side so as not to sit on it and bunch it up.
“Dex, Gordon, Locke,” he says, and nods to each in turn.
“I come from a land where divinity once mingled with man, and so have some small ability to help those I find, but I am not a true cleric. My order turned more towards the redemption of those who refused good, and the destruction of those who performed evil.”
Faith puts his right hand on the table and a large ring on his index finger clanks against the wood as he does so. It is fussy, gauche, and three red gems are set in its middle.
“I use the magic of this ring, and through it an evil efreeti, to do good and weaken its malice.”
“I use the magic of this ring, and through it an evil efreeti, to do good and weaken its malice.”
Locke glanced at the ring, and couldn't help but bark a somewhat-nervous laugh.
"Evil? Hah, well, then! I hope you got a good discount on that ring. You are sure it's not cursed, with the efreeti just waiting to strike at some inopportune time, yes?"
The merchant didn't normally pry into such matters--he was usually quite coy about the relationship with his own patron, after all---but they still had time, and besides, if it might make a difference down the road, might as well find out up front, he figured.
“Cursed?” says Faith, eyebrows rising as if the thought had never yet occurred to him. “From the perspective of the Efreeti from whom it draws magic, I suppose it might be, for the world at large I suppose it might be called blessed.”
Reflection over, he stands as the others do. “I am ready.”
Gordon will agree, standing up and saying, "I'm ready."

Although the potion of healing and the dust of choking disappearance are not particularly interesting, the wand of entanglement might be fun.

Drex's jaw drops visibly as he eyes the ring’ “Good god man. That's a honker of a ring. Well, you better keep it under control too. We all set?”
Drex gets up ready to go.
