Just a suggestion, Mabey tales of a pirate hunter might circulate pretty quick amongst pirates, maybe a deck hand jumped ship during an attack and was picked up by another pirate ship that was collecting the flotsam left after the battle, and maybe Ghorbash just had a little too much grog the day he heard those tales and just remembers the name and that he is a fighter. anyway like I said just a suggestion. I can't wait to see how this tavern scene plays out.
Yeah, I definitely don't usually rp npc's when I'm just a player, but I'm just a bit uncertain where everything is going right now, and JJ said it's pretty much free reign so I guess I kind of let my DM side get carried away a bit. So far I like what I'm seeing of the overall setting and the players, but I do feel like the game could benefit from just a little bit more focus.
I thought that my "team" will show near the tavern at the moment when raging half-orc throws some poor npc through the window and we all will get into the brawl, get caught by guards and have to do some sewers cleaing as punishment :D
Lol, I so wanted to have Ghorbash and Ennis throw down with each other in the tavern, but the dialogue kept preventing that. Ennis doesn't fight just anyone because he can, he has to either have a reason or be defending himself.
Hey, so... Since we're in this campaign together, why don't we try to join into one party. Kathleen and Ghorbash can hang around at the Temple until Gris, Ayoola, and Adoy get there. Then everyone can try and spend the night at that tavern Ennis is in. Though this plan is kinda meta-gaming so if its out of character for anyone involved or if someone doesn't like it, that's cool.
I am afraid that I do not see the reason right now.
Gris right now does not trust Ayoola. He trusts Adoy only a little as they both are "forest animals". We need to roleplay our characters descriptions (bonds, flaws and ideals). Right now there is no hook for building the team.
The idea of spending night in the building with stone walls would be very strange for Gris
One suggestion for everyone getting together: It seems everyone except Ennis has only just arrived in Byting, and none of you has mentioned anything about finding lodgings yet. If desired, after you all meet up near the temple (as seems to be the current course of events), you could all stumble across the Peregrine's Respite hostel as a place to stay. It's affordable, out of the way of most of the hustle and bustle of the city, and more importantly for some of the party members it would seem, it has a small courtyard with a few trees and Marigold's flower/herb garden!
Adoy is going to look for any excuse he can to not sleep in town. he has rarely interacted with any humanoid creatures since leaving gnomish society. Gris is of the forests like him and rather large and powerful compared to Adoy, that and his desire to find out what could be happening in the forest that would make an entire Firbolg clan disappear are the only reasons he has left his home and come to civilization. At least the only reasons so far.
For example your familly could be famous for creating new ship trade row

How is everyone enjoying the game play so far?

I have to say that i was hoping that we will have this brawl in the tavern:D
I... would like to get some quest hooks now. Unless I was a dunce and missed about 50 of them. In that case, never mind.
I am not used to write long posts with roleplaying some minor npc like some of us here do.
Do you require this as DM?
I am same as BirdCopp. I don't mind a little RPing but I am sure JJ can start pointing everyone in the right direction for moving this forward.

The best would be if characters argue loud and some npc will say to them "we do not like your kind here" and toss beer or something like this.
I have to write down this idea;)

It was merely a suggestion. I don't mind either way.

OK, if the vote is unanimous, I will start something happening. Just wanted everyone to get to know each other and the town first.

I know I'm ready to see whatever you have planned.
I'd like to go on an adventure with everyone

Maybe we can get the mystery to connect us somehow?
