Jek looks at the ones coming down. "Umm, should we attack before they get down here?" Jek will ask Ro and Wo-Dan. He's getting ready to attack if needed.
The Stormtroopers continued to bear down on Lady Kaede, the four mounted riders dashing their mounts across the divide. They form an impromptu wedge formation quickly as they close in, with two on one side of the vanguard and one on the right. Dashing their mounts allows them to close 2/3rds of the distance across the chasm in moments.
The leader remains in place, watching with her small retinue of Stormtroopers, while the other six, now spread out in teams of two across the three bridges, make it halfway down the ladders.
When the mounted riders approach Kaede, they see her hidden behind her evil looking helm. They each must make a DC12 WIS save or be frightened of Kaede and flee in abject terror.
Kaede’s Kabuto Helm:
This fearsome steel helm makes your eyes glow red and hides the rest of your face in shadow while you wear it. Once per day, the wearer can force anyone within 60 feet to roll a Wisdom Save (Charisma Modifier + Proficiency Modifier + 8 = DC) or be frightened.
Greko sitting behind his make believe boulder placed in front of him by Jek, bangs his staff into the ground and whispers sweet nothings casting from his staff ice storm for 27damage on failed dex save 16 or 1/2 on a save. He times this as Kaede speaks to make it seem the spell comes from her. But just as important as the damage and illusion that Kaede is powerful, this spell create a sheet of ice underneath the flyers causing the bridges to become icy for the unassuming troopers climbing down the ladders. Greko stays seated behind his fake boulder.
"We will need the flying mounts if we are to do that, I have no ranged attacks at my disposal." He pulls out the Griffin and Dragonnel cards, handing the dragonnel over to Ro. "I will need that back when this is finished, to use it simply picture the creature in your mind and throw the card before you."
"What?!?" Ro exclaims, furious that the party's plan was disturbed before it even started. Recognizing the ice storm to be the result of a spell, Ro turns to Jek. "Did you do this?!" he asks the sorcerer before shaking his head and turning to look at the incoming stormtroopers, "Nevermind, that's not important anymore. Wo-Dan sound the whistle!"
While still in the cavern caves and out of sight of the stormtroopers, Ro prepares himself for combat. First he drops his illusion, losing the appearance of the duergar that confronted Greko and returning to his original form. From the angle Greko was standing, the lizardfolk could see that Ro was no longer the young elf-dwarf he once knew. Instead, Ro was tall and lanky, and purple(?), and had tentacles on his face(?!). Ro was an illithid wearing black vestments covered in a variety of straps and belts. The straps on his chest were undone slightly to reveal the same plate armor Ro wore in the past. Moreso, the illithid had the same purple eyes Greko remembered his elf-dwarf friend to have.
Ro, the illithid, then unstrapped a buckle on his sleeve to reveal his left forearm. It was covered with numerous lacerations, self-inflicted and intentionally cut in the shape of arcane runes. Ro dug his thumb into one of the cuts until it a pool of blood welled up and collected onto his thumb. He murmured a few arcane words under his breath and flicked the bead of blood onto the floor. The bead of blood hissed, boiled, and grew rapidly in size. Once it reached a certain size, the now-large pool of blood refined its shape until it looked exactly like Ro, outfit and tentacled face included.
Without waiting for a response, Ro runs out of the cavern and summons the dragonnel. He hops on the scaly mount and shouts to the party, "My clone will provide spell support while I attack from above. Use the bridges as chokepoints, do not let them pass! We'll need one of the troopers alive if we still wish to gather information."
As Ro rides the dragonnel across the chasm and towards the stormtroopers he unsheathes the longsword from his waist and shouts, "Burn!". In response, the sword bursts into flames, ready to cut and cauterize those unfortunate enough to meet its edge.
Action: Cast Shadow Clone (clone's initiative is Ro's initiative minus 8) Item Interaction: Summon dragonnel mount Movement: 15 ft to mount the Dragonnel Mounted Movement: Flying 30 ft towards the female stormtrooper Bonus Action: Activate Flame Tongue
Jek looks at Ro with a tilted head. "I would have mentioned if I could make an ice storm. I'm pretty sure it was Greko, the rock fluctuated a bit. But if we can keep calm, we can probably use this to our advantage. Lady Kaede can try to talk to them after she 'showed' her power... And you already left. Or... part of you did? I guess we are fighting." Jek says confused, looking at the shadow clone.
Rum remains hidden watching Lady Kaede as she stands her ground despite the insult. He is then taken aback as he hears Greko speaking and suddenly a Storm of Ice appears, smashing into the enemy, just as some peel away looking frightened.
A sigh escapes his lips, but still the plan might work.
"If we can force them to retreat, I can disguise myself as one of them and you can teleport me amongst the...", he starts whispering but doesn't finish, as suddenly the dragonnel materialises and Ro jumps on, barking orders at no-one in particular as he takes to the sky with a flaming sword. Not the careful and considered actions of the Ro he knew at all.
This time a low growl rumbles in his throat.
He watches the reaction of the Storm Troopers and their leader, waiting for the flying ones to get within his reach and the possibility of further enemies appearing at the top of the chasm.
Things deteriorate quickly. As Ro takes flight and Rum prepares for battle, the dashing flying creatures bring two of the Stormtroopers within 100 feet of the platform. One of the Stormtroopers raises its hand and mutters something before three red bolts of energy fly forward toward Lady Kaede, each one hitting the ground harmlessly around her.
On the far side of the divide, the Stormtrooper Leader and her small retinue watch things unfold with interest, while many of those on the ladders continue to climb down to the bridge.
Amitola, still hidden amongst the Duergar in the openings of their caverns, remains in place, not wanting to show her hand before the enemy is within range...
Not showing any fear at all, Lady Kaede just stands there, unmoving, as the blaster bolts slam harmlessly to the ground around her. Unphased, she laughs out loud, directed towards their black armored leader.

Ro's shadow clone walks up to stand alongside Kaede and the Greko-rock, standing closest to whichever bridge the two are farthest from. It mutters something in a low voice and stretches out a hand toward the chasm. The arcane runes lacerated onto the clone's arms glow red as necrotic energy begins to swarm around its hand.
Movement: Move to stand beside Kaede and Greko-rock
Action: Readying Toll the Dead to cast against whichever enemy first approaches Kaede or Greko-rock DC 17 Wisdom Save On a failed save, target takes 16 necrotic damage, or 5 if already injured.
Special: Ro has other spells at his disposal (silvery barbs, counterspell, shield, absorb elements, etc) that he may cast as a reaction instead of Toll the Dead depending on the situation.
Jek stays in the building for now. No sense in tipping all there hands. As the flying creatures get closer, Jek will take a deep breath and try something new. He manipulates his magic to work silently. He says a quick prayer to the Bright Lady, then sends out invisible tendril of night. It streaks into the sky right in front of the flying mounts, and bursts into a barely perceptible magical force, that should put those in it to sleep. He hopes that works, and gets ready to see what happens.
The two mounts that peeled off from the formation, one on the left, one on the right, both suddenly start to plummet into the void as Jek's subtle spell does its literally magic. Both riders look shocked as they speed down toward the darkness...
Greko laughs quietly from behind his rock and says in a grandfatherly tone to Kaede "A little less frantic with the movements and more meaningful. You aren't a monkey doing a mating dance."
Wo-Dan waits in the shadows of the city for his chance to move into the inevitable melee.
Across the divide, Stormtroopers continue down the ladder. One remains deep in conference with the leader, while another paces back and forth and watches Kaede from across the divide like its eager to get into melee range but has other duties as a body guard....

Kaede's turn:
Since none of the enemy is within her range, Kaede yells across the chasm to the apparent leader: "Fear is the true opiate of combat. Give in to your fears, and leave this place. NOW. Or, suffer my wrath, and that of your master after you return to him alone, unarmed, and with your head on a plate."
Persuasion: 22
She will also Ready a swift counterattack on the remaining inbound stormtroopers if they get within range.
"I'll have your head for a trophy and feed your body to the dwarves!" The leader shouted back across the divide as everyone takes to threatening the longevity of each other's heads.
The two mounts drop out from under the riders, each of whom have the same response but with different results. The first one disappears in midair and reappears directly next to Kaede, lashing out at the samurai as it appears next to her but harmlessly grazing her armor.
The other reappears across the Divide, back at the top next to the incensed leader who begins scolding it.
Another of the mounted Stormtroopers, still bearing down on the band's position, fires its ranged weapon at Lady Kaede, hitting her twice with red bolts of magic...
