“Try not to kill it, but just in case.” Ward says, giving whoever’s closest 4 napalm’s (or putting them on the ground if no one) before turning into a panther and chasing after the plant running away.

Both Guiding Bolts hit the plant, making it an easier target for whoever attacks it next.
As Shavaris grabs the child-thing that is attacking Delphinium, a bizarre, putrid odor begins to pour out of its mouth in a stinking yellow-green cloud. It's so putrid that Delphinium is temporarily stunned, and Shavaris feels her head swim but keeps her grip on the kid.
A similar yellow-green cloud pours out of the big plant when Ward gets close to it, and then vines come lashing at Ward through the cloud of gas...
The plant makes the weird choking sound as it attacks Ward.
Note- For those of you with mounts, friends, whatever (Hemmingway, Ironsides, Birt, Eloise, the friggin' Gremlin...), they go ON YOUR TURN. This is an effort to keep combat manageable
Travin watches ard chase after the one plant in his panther form and begins giggling uproariously, but it's odd. As Travin extends his hands in front off him a small ball of energy forms and the sound of his giggling doubles and resonates bouncing back and forth in different pitches as the ball gains mass and energy unstable in its magical form before it explodes away from the junk man at high velocity, giggling as it goes.
(Chaos bolt, 18 to hit, 12 force damage)
Birt finishes running up toward where Shavaris has the child held and is confused by the green cloud, but that doesn't stop him from making a Bite and Claw attack against the restrained child.
The Chaos Bolt strikes the plant, which makes a weird farting noise as it does so, but refuses to die. As for the strange childlike zombie, the kid's neck is pierced when Birt sinks his teeth in, and then its head completely peels away at the shoulder and falls away, tearing out some sort of plant as it does so. The vine-like roots of the thing hit the ground and immediately begin to wilt as the kid topples and goes limp.
As Ward weathers the onslaught, another nearby vine reaches out and lashes at him, striking him across the chest. There's a yellow flash of light...
Note-For those of you with mounts, friends, whatever (Hemmingway, Ironsides, Birt, Eloise, the friggin' Gremlin...), they go ON YOUR TURN. This is an effort to keep combat manageable
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Adam and Ironsides have closed the distance to the strange vine and he observes the child go limp on the ground. Just then, another vine apparently attacks. Adam pulls up his lightsaber and attacks, but instead of the usual orange color of his lightsaber, there is a greenish hue. He casts green-flame blade on his lightsaber and attacks the main plant, urging Ironsides on to flail at it as well. “Beat it to a pulp ole boy!”
Lightsaber swing 1: Attack: 28 Damage: 13 slashing damage, with 12 radiant damage, HP max reduced by this amount. In addition, this first attack does 1 flame damage from green-flame blade.
(Flame jump to the 2nd vine) : 5 flame damage.
Light saber swing 2 : Attack: 28 Damage: 18 slashing damage, with 9 radiant damage, HP max reduced by this amount.
As he swings, Adam is shouting seemingly to himself, and to the plant. “Stupid freakin vine, destroying these beautiful woods, piece of shit weeds, gonna rip you out by the roots, dammit. Leave people alone with your weird brain sucking tendrils and your fart gas smelling self you big leafy bastard! Gonna rip you out and plant a buncha… kale here or somethin.” It is quite a tirade.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
A vine reaches out for Adam as his lightsaber attacks and Ol' Ironside's whipping flails beat the main plant into a green pulp. It falls from the trees unmoving and breaks open...and out crawls three more plant zombies. One a Kokiri, one a Human, and one an Elf. At the same time, a vine reaches out for Adam from nearby and brushes his armor, leaving behind a glimmer of yellow sparks but leaving him otherwise unharmed.
As the big plant dies, one of the bulbous purple pods below is pulsates, contracts, and then explodes, enshrouding Adam, Ward, and Ol' Ironsides in purple gas...

Johnathan watches as this easily avoidable trap has been sprung. He watches as his allies start taking some damage and decides to start using some heavier magic. He looks into the north east corner of the battle where there plant monsters approach. His arms start to get surrounded by a bright light that vibrates for a moment before shooting a tiny orb of light over them. As soon as the orb stops above the creatures the orb bursts into a sphere of radiant light. Johnathan turns to his allies. Stay out of the light. We should head back, we are getting surrounded. He does not move away yet for this turn. As the light emits from him a small ray sparks off himself and through Shavaris, healing her a little as well.
Action: Radiant sickness (each creature must make a dc 16 con save or take 4d10 radiant damage and suffer one level of exhaustion, no effect if saved): 22
Bonus action: healing light: 5 healing to Shavaris
The radiant light shrivels at least one of the strange gaspods and makes another set of vines retract away before they reach into the clearing, though one group of vines seems completely unfazed by Johnathan's magic.
While this is happening, one of the bizarre plant-zombies shambles forward and takes a clumsy swipe at Ol' Ironsides, but its hands ding off the Flail Snail's shell.
It is Dageron's turn, followed by Shavaris and Ward!
Note- For those of you with mounts, friends, whatever (Hemmingway, Ironsides, Birt, Eloise, the friggin' Gremlin...), they go ON YOUR TURN. This is an effort to keep combat manageable
Dageron yells out to the others, "Heed Johnathan, pull back to this position and regroup, we will provide covering fire."
As he yells he casts twice at the nearest Zombie to him (at 60' limit to spell range, the one just south of Adam).
Attack 1: Sacred Flame - Dex Save 13 (no cover benefit) or 9 radiant damage Attack 2: Sacred Flame - Dex Save 13 (no cover benefit) or 10 radiant damage

Seeing that the kid was no longer a threat, Shavaris drops him, wondering how this happened in the first place. She wonders how far this affliction on the woods has spread and if the towns are all right.
She switches place with Eloise again and is back on top of Running Bird. She throws Sick and Twisted towards the zombie that is closed to Ward, seeing that her friend might be in trouble. And catches the scimitars as they return to her.
Attack: 26 Damage: 11
Attack: 28 Damage: 10
Sneak attack damage: 10
As she attacks this zombie, a ghost figure that looks like Shavaris manifests around the creature then floats towards the nearest zombie and deals 3 necrotic damage.
With her friends surrounded by these creatures, she decides to use her Action Surge and throws her blades again. If the zombie by Ward falls, she attacks the next one.
Attack: 20 Damage: 8
Attack: 18 Damage: 10
Then holds her place by Dageron, Jonathan and Travin while she waits for the others to get to safety.
Ward takes all the hits and grits his teeth. "So, you've chosen to burn." Ward says, grabbing two napalms and chucking them in the middle of the zombies.

One zombie bursts into flames and takes extreme damage while the next is cut down by Sick and Twisted, dropping it in pieces to the ground. The ghostly apparition rolls through the next zombie in the split second before the two blades return, dealing nasty wounds but not quite cutting the zombie down.
The two zombies are caught in the flames as the the napalm detonates, as are Ward and Adam. Ol' Ironsides doesn't seem to mind being set on fire...

Coughing and hacking up the odorous stench it was more akin to poison then an actual smell. Delphinium could do nothing for a few seconds while they fluttered in the air making little coughing noises. However, their friends came up behind and helped out the tiny fairy so they didn't get swarmed. Things were already beginning to look... wrong, even before this plant thing and the zombies. Where an excitement to learn about a new forest and new life Delphinium's excitement seemed to get less and less with each new creature he found or each new plant he looked at. The plant was the final straw. The fairy realized something about this forest and they were very mad about it. So much so they were now buzzing like an angry bee.
As flame explodes encompassing the twisted forest. Delph looks to the nearest threat to their friends and where normally is a reserved and playful fairy is now a swarm of spectral arms. Delphinium positions his astral fists as normal and the blue light of them begins to sparkle as the blue light darkens and a purple tint creeps in on the fists. The blue light fades till just past the wrists of the spectral astral arms. Suddenly each fist springs open revealing sets of long and serrated claws sparkling like a purple nighttime sky filled with stars. Beautiful claws that twinkle like the night bely their terrifying purpose at the same time as Delphinium suddenly charges at the remaining zombies slashing at them and tearing them to pieces instead of punching them into submission. The fairy methodically targets one at a time each slash of their astral claws more deadly then the last.
There was two zombies left standing. Delphinium's claws slash brutally into the plant-like mulch of it's body from the top and at the same time a second astral claw slashes into it from the side. The result is a pile of cubified zombie pieces. Delphinium then looks to the other pant zombie Two more astral claws suddenly a blur of cuts as one chops off the zombie's head then crushes it in a splatter and the second slices across the torso of the zombie dissecting it into four neat pieces that slump to the ground. The fairy looks very mad as the viscera and zombie bits drip off their astral claws. They flick the claws in the air towards the vines and glare for a bit before turning to the others and saying "This isn't a forest."
"no forest, only death, hmm?" Travin seems to respond to Delphinium's words. Travin mutters something under his breath and makes a few hand gestures toward the flames caused by wards explosion, the fire intensifies and expands 5ft in every direction catching more of the forest aflame. "go play" he shouts over towards Birt, who apparently doesn't need to be asked twice, as he giddily bounds over to the fire, knocking Adam and Ward aside if needed, and proceeding to dance in the growing fire laughing and happily yelling out his own name as he does.
While the two zombies are destroyed by Delphinium, the clearing still looks somewhat alive. Nothing is coming after them, but some of the vines around the area are still exploring the spaces around them, while several of the big gas-filled spores pulsate along the edges of the treeline...
Note- For those of you with mounts, friends, whatever (Hemmingway, Ironsides, Birt, Eloise, the friggin' Gremlin...), they go ON YOUR TURN. This is an effort to keep combat manageable
Adam steps away from the zombie vines and leaves the area, heading back to the others. As he does so, he stomps his winged boots and puts out the flames, exclaiming as he does so, “Ward, dammit, you gave me a hot foot! Watch out where you are slinging that explosive stuff. Why don’t we get the hell out of here! Any of you know how to find what started all of this…“. He points and gestures to the zombie plants.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Delphinium looks at all the pulsating spores and bloodvines, then to the fire in which he looks suddenly very sad. Lastly, he looks to his companions. They just stare for a bit as they flutter in the air until they decide to fly over to them. Delph will land on someone's shoulder and say "This place is wrong. Let's find the nearby town. I want to know how this started. It... it's wrong. So wrong." he looks to the body of the child, long dead and it's death being used in a way that proves to delph this is no forest. Not anymore. The fairy is visually disturbed and seems quite troubled by all this.
Travin gathers a few of the zombie skins and feeds his bag. Birt looks suspiciously at Adam as the flames are magically extinguished.
"Dawn guard should discuss options hmmm? Burnings a way to the town, one option yeh yeh, but also leaving ands skirting the forest east to the labyrinth is option two hmm? One path with death and unknown, one path longer but finds us reinforcement yeh yeh" travin looks longingly at the sky and sighs, he seems off.
Delphinium scoffs at Travin calling this a forest and reiterates "This is not a forest Travin. It's like... they tried to make it look like a forest but left out everything that matters." The fairy seems very disturbed by everything here. They look to their cluttered friend and try to explain to everyone here. "You should all listen to me. The feywild can be dangerous. It can be deadly. It's always fun. What some might seem as cruel might be another's form of entertainment or perhaps a method of survival. We have magical forests that try to eat you. Giant man eating plants with fangs and thorns. We have intelligent wolves that haunt you in the night depriving you of sleep until you can easily be picked off. People go missing in the feywild all the time, sometimes a kid ends up in a hag's stew. Death is a thing. It happens. We try to avoid it. Its a part of our worlds and a part of nature but there is a big difference between feywild forests, the forests we've been in so far and this place."
Delphinium takes a deep breath and says "This place... there is no love only pain, no joy only calculation, no playfulness only viciousness. It's like someone took the concept of a forest and made something that is the opposite of it. Deadly forests are fine. Fun even. You need to learn how to survive but here... its not about survival. The creatures here are not concerned about living. They only seek to kill or hurt. No regard for their own safety or well being. Take this plant thing. Twisting and exposed vines that grasp above ground. It has roots taking in nutrients from below yet more vines killing above for more? No, it just likes being vicious. Look how it uses the poor dead child's body. It deforms the child's life to lure others in, mocking the kid's life even after death. It doesn't eat the body of the child to grow it wastes it as a way to kill others. I've observed a lot more like this. Insects that no longer swarm together but just have twisted bodies hunting the next thing to hurt. There are birds above that no longer sing and just glare with malice. There is no semblance of nature here. Not anymore. In addition, nothing is afraid here. No insect flew away from me when I looked at them. No bird swoops off in the air as we pass. They don't care if they die anymore."
The fairy flutters over to Adam and says "It's your land that is infected. What do you want to do? I think the labryith will be protected but it's your people. Do you want to see if we can rescue anyone from the nearby towns first? I'm a guest in your land so I will respect your choice. Just, keep in mind what I'm saying about this place. It's not a forest. Don't think of it as nature for it no longer is. most importantly... wherever this started, we need to figure out how to stop it."
