A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
The glaive is enough; the monster is eviscerated as it tries to move away, the spinning weapon rolling down its side and spilling its blood and guts into the stinking water.
It's mate can only moan in response as it is bludgeoned by Delphinium and left stunned.
Seeing his magics take no effect on the secondary beast, and the fact that the first beast has been felled, Travin busts his little ass trying to get back to the entrance to the corridor, as he passes Johnathan, Travin gives him a nod and yells "come, come! Johnathan must live to blast other beasties! Yeh yeh! Travin is leaving"
Johnathan is shocked in amazement as the tiny little fairy manages to stun the giant fart monster. Great shot Delp, I never knew you could do that. With that Johnathan will turn to the others, Someone fast get Shavaris, she is still pretty far away. The rest of us will give suppression fire in the meantime. Let’s make this thing hurt while it’s vulnerable and give Delphinium a chance to get away. With that Johnathan turns to the creature and fires more arcane beams, hoping to wound the creature to the point that it wishes that it was dead.
Action: beam 1: 16 : Damage: 10
Beam 2: 24 : Damage: 9
movement: goes to entrance of corridor if not there already
Running Bird, seeing the monster fall beneath Kerwyn's flying glaive, stops, looking confused. It looks back over its shoulder, then heads back toward the entrance with the rest of the fleeing Dawn Guard. The other creature, stunned, is rocked by Johnathan's attack. It doesn't look good.
WardHorse moves towards the group and gets as close to the center as he can before gently putting down those on his back by siding them off. Then as a bonus action will drop his wild shape form and return to Ward. As his action he will cast a 2nd level Cure Wounds onto Ralik. “Whatever diety or demon may have hold on this man release it or so help me I will bring wrath to your door that you will remember for the rest of your years if you try to hold him against his will in your domain.” Ward says hoping that the healing combined with whatever Delph did will bring him back.

Hoggle is crying now as Ludo scoops the girl into his arms and lets out a baleful howl. They look around, lost, then directly at Sir Didymus before turning toward the tunnel. Hoggle says something to Ludo as he watches everyone else flee the battle...and so they begin to trudge through the slop back to the entrance of the corridor.
Shavaris continues her mad dash for the opening to the bog. Jumping over the bog and running head first towards the tunnel. At the end her movement (35' in difficult terrain), she sees that Delph is still close to the monster and she decides to add her attempt to turn this monster away. She pulls out her bow again and fires at it.
As the fairy was pointing out to the beast to run with its friend they watch in horror as any hope of of a peaceful solution died as Kerwyn slices up and kills its friend. The fairy says a series of curses in sylvan as they look at the creature. It doesn't take a genius to see that the creature is beaten up and will not calm down now. It will chase them all until it passes out. The fairy gives a sad look at it friend and then looks back at the stunned beast and says "I'm sorry." the fairy looks very sad as they bring their fists up and ready to pummel the beast. The only choice left to the fairy is to knock it out. It is the only way to save it's life and prevent it from attacking their friends. The creature is still stunned from the burst of ki Delph forced into its body. It won't last much longer but it will last long enough.
Delphinium can already see that the creature is very injured and as such the fairy brings two fists up and clasp the astral hands together as they bring them down on the beast's head. A loud thud like sound driving the beast's head into the ground and muck. Delph trying their best to knock them out but not kill them. Whatever damage the creature had taken before combined with the shock of losing the other one seemed to have destabilized them enough that when the fairy slammed their head into the ground that the creature didn't move after. Delph checked to make sure it was breathing and sure enough it was. They were far more injured then the fairy expected. The beast felled by the fairy's blue fists they use one of them to gently pick the creature's head out of the muck so it's breathing won't be hindered. As they gently set the head down they say to the unconscious beast "No more killing. Okay? Surely there must be someone that still cares for you?"
Delph flies over to join the rest fleeing. For once not seeming cheerful or happy in anyway as they sadly follow the group back to the oubliette.
Action: Attack Astral Fist - 22 to hit 8 non-lethal damage. DM Said KO. Bonus: Move head with astral fist so beast not drowning in muck. Move: Fly 40 feet towards group.
Hoggle and Ludo lead the charge into the corridor, even as some of the Dawn Guard gets past them. They stop when the fighting stops, and Ludo sets the girl down, making baleful moans as he nudges her lifeless form.
"Sar-rah." He says, cradling her head in one massive paw, moving her arms, shuffling her body like he's trying to wake her up with the other. "Ffrriieenndd."
He continues to work on her as Hoggle kneels next to her. The Dwarf is openly crying as Sir Didymus forces his way through the rest of the fleeing fighters and to her side.
"Fair Maiden." He says, sliding off Ambrosius's back. He lays a tiny hand on Hoggle's shoulder and looks down. "Oh Fair Maiden...what have they done to thee?"
They wait there like that for a moment. Quiet. Somber. Hoggle looks up as Kerwyn advances on Ol' Ironsides and stands. He's visibly angry as he wipes tears away from his face with the back of one hand.
"Give me my keys back!" He demands, stomping one foot and holding his hand out. Tears continue to stream down his face. "I've had enough of you people! That one shot me!"
He points at Travin.
"Then that one tried to kill me!"
He points at Johnathan.
"And you've done nothing but be a bully the whole time I've tried to get you through the Labyrinth. Now look what's happened! Look!"
Hoggle points at Sarah, then to Ralik.
"I'm not going any further with you! I want my keys so I can get her out of here! You freaks can find your own way through the Labyrinth! You can get yourselves killed on your own! Damn you!"
He's pointing around at all of them, clearly hurt, clearly not thinking correctly, scared and upset and awash in an emotional tidal wave that's too big for him to withstand.
"And we'll be taking the former Goblin King, too! Even Jareth doesn't deserve to be at the mercy of you bastards!"
Kerwyn approaches the exit and sees Delph knock out the dangerous creature. “One thing you don’t understand” he says as he pulls out his glaive, “is that you can’t change a monster’s nature. This monster is a killer. If you let it live, it will hide and wait for the next opportunity, for the next Sarah or Ralik or Jareth to come along, and kill them. It’s in his nature. You can’t change it. It is like a rabid wolf. It must be put down. And if you won’t do it” he throws his glaive twice, hopefully ending the miserable creatures life, “I will.”
Thrown glaive attack 1 : Attack: 22 Damage: 13
Thrown glaive attack 2 : Attack: 24 Damage: 9
He leads Ironsides up the passageway and steps off of the snail, stands over Hoggle and shouts right back at him, in a foul mood. “Damn you, for opening up a door that led to these deaths, for allowing Shavaris to chase after her into an area that YOU KNEW was dangerous. Here’s your f*%#ing keys. Take ‘em. I couldn’t figure them out anyway. But I’m gonna hold onto you as you open the door so you don’t go running off and leave us in here. I trust you about as far as I … well, come to think of it, I could throw you pretty far. You know what I mean…” He stands directly over him with his hand on his back as he opens any doors, ready to throw him to the ground if there are any hijinks.

"KERWYN! Quit, now. We have to fix this, and you threatening Hoggle will do no good. Hoggle, there may yet be a way to fix it. Hoggle, we need to finish this, as much as I want to get out of here and bring them to the Clerics in Castle Eternia, we need to finish this. It's more important than all of us here that we save that Unicorn. But If Didymus, Ambrosius, Ludo, and Running Bird could find the Myconoids they would probably be willing to escort you to Castle Eternia if they know it was at our request. Then, once they get there give them a few notes explaining the situation and stating that the debt will go to the Mistycomb Hamlet. They are my home, my family, and they will be willing to repay it for this if they know why. I don't know what the Clerics may be able to do, but they are our best chance to bring back those who died here. And before the lot of you start arguing about fault, it is NONE, of us. The situation was unexpected, and none of us would've been able to anticipate this. We did the best that we could, and now the best we can do, is hope that the Clerics will accept this and try to revive our fallen. Hoggle, Didymus, Ambrosius, Ludo, If you are willing to do this it is our best chance at fixing this. Say the word and I will begin writing the necessary letters and you guys will be on your way." Ward says, standing before Hoggle and extending his arm to him. "I cannot guarantee it will work, but I will do my best to allow as many people as possible to get out of this alive, but I cannot risk letting the Unicorn die. I have already experienced personally, what the magic's instability is causing, that is why I am here, that is why I risk myself going on this quest my friend." Ward says, still holding his arm out towards Hoggle and the others to see if they would be willing to go with the plan.

Delph watches in horror as Kerwyn mercilessly kills the creature. A victim. Murdered for no other reason then just existing. For living in a swamp that stinks so bad it probably preferred the solitude. Watched as it's mate got killed. Then killed itself. Only for living.
It takes delph a minute to even register what happened. They went to the effort of sparing them. Why did Kerwyn do that? Rabid wolf? Kill again? It just appeared from the muck to protect its mate. Kerwyn didnt even pause to talk with delph they just... murdered it...kerwyn is the monster. Kerwyn is the bad one.
Delph almost loses focus on their Astral arms they are so betrayed. So angry they begin to yell at kerwyn "Kerwyn... YOU are the monster! You're afriad they will kill again? Should we kill every bear and wolf too? Shall we check around this area to see if they had young? Do you want murder children too? They are not monsters kerwyn! They are beasts! They hunt! They kill! They eat! You, only kill! You, only murder! Look at you now! Threatening hoggle whose done nothing but help us! Hoggle is a kind person! You are nothing but mean and nasty to them! What's more, I thought I could trust you! I thought you would let those I spare go! You didn't even talk to me! You don't even care what I think or feel! You don't care about anyone! You just want to murder! You just want to kill! You know what! If you don't care about me then I don't care about you!"
Delph uses their Astral fists not to punch but to attempt to push Kerwyn into the bog of stench. Shoving them into the stinky bog. Delph curious if the eternal part is true or not and right now they are going to find out. Let kerwyn pay for their awful act. Delph hope they learn a valuable lesson from it.
"no, no, no, no! Travin can't leave him, Travin needs him, hmmmm? Hoggle takes keys, yeh, Hoggle leaves us abandoned, yeh! But Hoggle LEAVES JARETH! Please..." Tears are welling up in Travin's eyes, as he digs through a chest on his back and pulls out three gemstones offering them up to try to persuade the dwarf.
As Travin slowly approaches one arm outstretched with the gems the other he attempts to touch Jareth, casting cure wounds for 7hp healing on the goblin king.

ohnathan stops fighting as the others begin to regroup, all except for Kerwyn and Delphinium. They were handling grief in different ways. Kerwyn wanted to avenge the fallen by hunting the monsters down while Delphinium wanted to make sure that the rest of their friends survived. He looks at the bog and all that they have lost. Ralik, Jareth and even some strange girl that Hoggle liked. That’s when Johnathan turns his attention to the dwarf. He could see that he was scared and upset and for good reasons. The dawn guard have been cruel to him, especially Johnathan recently. A look of a shame falls on Johnathan face. The worst part is there was a part of him that wanted to kill him, he really wanted to. He didn’t see him as a living being, just cattle. He turns to the scared companions. Hoggle. Huh. I’m sorry you saw a side of me that scares even me. For what’s it worth I didn’t want to hurt you, but I’m cursed. Cursed with a hunger. When Travin shot you I smelt blood and it put me in a near frenzy. He stops talking. He was just making an excuse to try and make himself feel better. You may go if you want, but all I ask is for a minute of your time. You’ve gotten us close enough and I think I can maybe help us all out. He gives a glance to Sarah as he mentions the help.He turns to face Jareth’s corpse. It was strange seeing such a once powerful leader be reduced to this. A small part of him knew that this was gonna upset some of them, but Johnathan needs solutions, not grief. Death wasn’t always definite, though sometimes it’s a mercy.
Johnathan begins to enchant a verse. Body of the dead, lying silent and still. Let closed lids open and speak by my will. All that you knew in life will be shared, and then and only then may you join the dead. Johnathan’s eyes turn into complete darkness as a smoking starts pouring outside his mouth. He releases the smoke and let’s it channel into Jareth’s dead body. His chest inflates and Jareth’s eyes open. Jareth. Welcome to the land of the living. I have temporary brought you back cus I have a proposal for you. You and many of our friends died here today. You know me, you know that simply won’t do. So let’s make a deal. You tell me how to use the power of the labyrinth to bring people back exactly as they were and in return I will raise you to be the goblin king. The spell I casts means you must answer 5 questions. So question 1. How do I use the labyrinth to raise the dead back as they were?
Spell: speak with dead

Athletic check: 28
Kerwyn the fighter is surprised by the fury and nonsensical statements of the tiny fairy, confused by his defense of the monster that attempted to kill Johnathan and the rest of us. The bodies being hauled away were evidence enough of that, this was no attack from a simple wolf or bear, this was a killing machine, and Kerwyn merely wanted to prevent future victims from learning this the hard way. So he is puzzled by the choice of a member of the Dawn Guard to support a monstrous beast in favor of a team member, and he is completely surprised by the tiny fairy when he attempts to shove him off Ironsides toward the bog. They had ridden close to the exit when this shove attack occurred, blue glowing astral arms shoving the 6’2” fighter off his large elemental mount. “Whaaaa?” he says as the fairy pushes him.
Athletics : 19
As Kerwyn is pushed back, Ironsides senses danger and his six flails drop down and start to move around, the flail snail becomes agitated. Kerwyn goes backward and then stands, puts his hand on the hilt of his great sword. He walks over to the second catelobepas and lifts the sword high then brings it down on its neck. He decapitates the dead beast and lifts the head up to show the fairy. “This thing was going to kill us. It won’t prey on people who walk in here anymore.” He brings the head over to the opening of the passage and sets it to the side, as a warning to all that pass through here that there are dangerous creatures in this bog. Then he walks around and turns back to the fairy, he is on one side, Ironsides is on the other. He says to Delph from behind gritted teeth, “If you shove or strike at me again, I will make you stop, I will put an end to you. If you chose to side with monsters over fellow members of the Dawn Guard, perhaps you shouldn’t be in our band. Perhaps you should go back to the Deku tree, or go do some knitting with Vader and tell him what a naughty boy he’s been, or maybe you can convince Blix to reevaluate his life choices and do some scrapbooking with you. But when there are monsters, killing us, get out of my way. Maybe you don’t have it in you to do this. By my oath we will find the mare and go through whatever misdirections that little man (points at Hoggle) has in store for us until it is done. And if something is trying to kill us, we will handle it. Now get out of my sight, you’re not my friend either, I don’t want to see or talk to you anymore.”
If there is no further action, Kerwyn heads back up to where Hoggle and the others are. He stops to look in on Ralik, looking for any signs of life. Seeing that there is no hope, he remembers his winged boots and removes them, saying “I can put these to use, poor Ralik, I will return them to you if you can be revived.”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Shavaris slowly sinks to the floor near Ralik, Sarah and Jareth, looking at them all with fresh tears running down her face. So much has happened since she and Ralik ran down this corridor together, following her dead sister's ghost it feels like her mind is being torn apart. She looks at Sarah, why did Eloise appear for her to save this woman? And in a situation that she just couldn't? Looking at Jareth, why couldn't it have been him instead of the girl? And Ralik?? Shavaris buries her head in her arms and cries.
As the arguing voices creep in, she looks up confused. We were out of the bog, why? What happened to Hoggle while she and Ralik were separated registers and as she is about to get up and confront this, a seething Delph actually pushes Kerwyn off of Ironsides and the rest are shouting and carrying on. Stunned by the entire situation, she leaves the bodies and walks over to the two separate groups.
Tear streamed and almost mentally broken, you can see the pain etched on her face as she stares down each member of the Dawn Guard in turn. Quieting each of them as she takes a moment to figure out where the hell to even start. "Your brother is dead. Ward, you say it is no ones fault, well I take part of that blame." she looks down to Ralik and almost can't continue, but she looks sharply back up anger taking over her grief.
Starting with Delph and Kerwyn, she turns to them and with a scolding their mother would be proud of, "What the hell is wrong with the two of you? Do you not have enough respect for each other after all the time we've had together to understand you each view things differently? Delph, yes, we know how you feel, but not every monster can be or should be saved." pointing to the dead bodies behind her, "That is what these monsters do, and from what I saw it wasn't in self defense like a bear or wolf. We respect your way of fighting and you do it well, but you must give us the same respect. Kerwyn, God damn it I hope you get back to your sane state of mind soon. I understand why you did what you did, but stop rubbing Delph's face in it. We need each other and we aren't going to succeed in our mission if we fight amongst ourselves."
Slowly turning to face the labyrinth group, she recalls what Hoggle was yelling about and and spins to face Travin, Johnathan and again at Kerwyn. "You all did what?!? Do I even know who you are? This man is our guide, our hope through this labyrinth and the three of you... you shot and tried to kill him?? I.. I can't believe what I am hearing. Whhhy??" She leans on the wall of the tunnel, the weight of understanding the situation almost too much for her to bear. It takes her a moment to recover, and when she turns back to the labyrinth group there is pain and embarrassment written all over her face.
"Hoggle. I don't even know where to start. I cannot take away what my friends did to you, I cannot fathom why they did these things to you." she hangs her head and looks at Sarah again, "I did try, Ralik and I really tried to save your friend. I saw her in a dream once and well my sister's ghost led me to help her, we were just too... too late. I'm glad you opened the door so we could at least bring her to you before the monsters took her. I also brought Jareth back for you. I don't know your relationship with this crazy man, but didn't think it was right for me to decide so I thought you might want to. It looks like our junkperson friend is trying to heal him, I hope that's alright."
Shavaris kneels in front of Hoggle, trying to get more eye level with the dwarf. "I know we've hurt you, mocked you and done things that I still can't believe. But please, as Ward said, we need to find the Unicorn and right now our path is to find Blix and we're hoping to find him at the Goblin King Castle. I know it is the last thing you would want to do, but it will get us out of your labyrinth faster if you do, and I will make sure Kerwyn stays as far away from you as possible. Honestly, as well as Johnathan and Travin. Not sure what your aspirations are, but once we rid the castle of Blix, you could become the Goblin King if you want to be.. we would make sure of that."she raises an eyebrow, unsure of how he will take this thought. "Please, give it some thought..and I see that you have lost a friend today, I will be your friend if you'd like." she stands back up awkwardly, unsure of what else to say.
Delph was holding their anger back. They were so mad as Kerwyn. The fairy wanted nothing more then to beat them up like all the other big people that do nothing but kill and destroy. They hated kerwyn. Trying to manipulate words like fey. Everyone always underestimates Delph. They are far smarter then anyone ever thinks. As Kerwyn tries to make it sound like delph is choosing between a monster and the party. Delph never choose between anyone. In fact, they chose to fight with the dawn guard against the creatures. The only thing they did was chose to spare a life.
The fairy kept their anger back as best they could. Knowing now is not the time to fight. Delph supposed that they could just immediately fight Kerwyn the next time they save something. They just glare at kerwyn as they continue to twist things and make pretty word play to paint the fairy poorly.
Then, Kerwyn decapitated the creature. Mutilating it's body after killing it. Everyone there sees the fairy snap. What little restraint they had left was severed along with the head of the creature. In that moment, to Delphinium, Kerwyn was now trying to hurt Delph. They just wanted to hurt others. They just wanted to kill everything in their wake. Delph raise all six of their Astral fist ready to punch Kerwyn.
Then...
Shavaris bring them back to reason. She's crying and that more then her words gets Delph to stop. They are fey and must keep their word. She chews out Kerwyn for showing disrespect. She yells at everyone. Pain shots through Delph as they begin to fail to keep their word. They are going against what they said they would.
The fairy let's their ki go. The Astral hands vanishing. They wait for Shavaris to leave then they just look at Kerwyn completely not caring about their threats. "I am fey Kerwyn. I keep my word because it is my nature. I promised to help Shavaris smile again and this won't help." The fairy begins to cry. A mix of pain and sorrow filling their tiny heart that often seems so big. Their nature as a fey forcing them to do something else despite their emotions.
They continue to look at Kerwyn as tears flow "I never chose the creature over the dawn guard. I wanted to choose life. I was too late to help her sister. I'm incompetent with my mother's healing magic and I failed to save your friend Ralik. I failed to save their friend Sarah because all I'm good at is punching. I just wanted to save one life... I thought I did. You couldn't even allow that."
"You make it sound like it is evil to spare someone. You make it sound like it's weakness to let live those who hurt you. It's not weakness! It often hurts! Hurts more then you will ever know, even now it hurts. Not that you care. But I know... the unicorn can't be saved following a road of corpses." The fairy holds themselves tightly. Obviously in pain.
The fairy still has tears but a hardness shows in the fairy features beyond the sadness and sense of failure as they say one more thing to Kerwyn, "I doubt you'll ever respect me. That's fine. You made it clear you dispise me. I will hate you too. I am fey. We hold grudges. We always tell the truth. You portray me as weak but next time I spare something I'm protecting them from you. So kill me now or later. I heard your threat. I accept your terms. I will not stop saving lives. I will not stop being good just because you are not. I will not stop being good because others are not."
The fairy flies away from Kerwyn. They fly away from everyone. They stay within sight though. Finding a peach near the entrance they entered on an outcropping of rock. Delphinium just sit on that rock as they pull their legs in with a hug. Holding themselves tightly as they silently cry waiting for the pain to go away or the dawn guard to leave this awful place. Their blue glow completely gone at this time as they find no joy in themselves right now.

He gives a glance to Sarah as he mentions the help. He turns to face Jareth’s corpse.

Not sure what your aspirations are, but once we rid the castle of Blix, you could become the Goblin King if you want to be.. we would make sure of that." she raises an eyebrow, unsure of how he will take this thought.
