Yeemik howls in pain as he looks down at his gaping wound, collapsing to his knees. You see a tear roll down his cheek as he sputters, blood running from his mouth, "I...I..." and he collapses on the cave floor, dead.
Bearkiller, it's your turn with Galben and then Sildar on deck. Goblin 4 remains (at full health; 7 hp)
(Galben seeing the final goblin trying to flee pulls an arrow from his quiver and draws back hoping to slow the creature down. He let's the arrow fly planting itself in the back of the beast. The goblin falls to the ground, taking a few breaths and then suddenly none at all.)
(Attack roll 19+5=24: Piercing damage 7+3=10)
"That's the last of them!" (Galben starts collecting the weapons of the dead and turns to Sildar)
"How long have you been held prisoner by this malignity of goblins?"
OldMan looks around at the bleeding and tired crew. "Men we have all earned a long rest." Let's hole up in Klarg's den. We can rotate the watch in pairs. I need to study up."
It is now pushing into late afternoon. There are about 3 hours of daylight left and Phandalin is about a 2 hour ride from your current location, meaning between loading the captured supplies and travelling to Phandalin, you would arrive just after sundown. You can either camp here for the night or make your way to Phandalin to secure lodging for the evening, whichever you all would prefer.
Also, having cleared Cragmaw Cave, you all receive 275 XP, which should level everyone up to Level 2.
Sildar hands the mace back to Jake, saying: "Thank you, friends, for rescuing me. It has been a trying couple of days to say the least. You all fought bravely, and I am in your debt. As a member of the griffon cavalry of the great city of Waterdeep and an agent of the Lords' Alliance, I will attest to your bravery and resolve. I was on my way to Phandalin and have contacts in the city who can provide safe harbor, and I would provide handsomely for the escort. Though I do not have the coin on me, I will gladly secure a loan to pay you within a day of arriving in Phandalin. I must go to discern the fate of my contact, a human wizard named Iarno Albrek. When I met Gundren in Neverwinter, I agreed to accompany him back to Phandalin in order to investigate the fate of Iarno, who is a fellow member of the Lords' Alliance and who disappeared shortly after having arrived in Phandalin."
Jake takes his mace back from Sildar. "I would take you up on your offer of accommodations. A secure roof over my head is preferable to these goblin caves. Sildar, where are your belongings? We found your mount, slain, on the trail."
(Galben puts all the weaponry in a pile near the opening of the cave. Looking at the group)
"This is all of the weaponry I took off the goblins if anyone would like to take a weapon to add/trade out to their arsenal please do. Othewise we will sell/trade them when we get to Phandalin.
1 Morning Star, 9 Scimitars, 4 Shortbows, 4 quivers, 80 arrows (20 to a quiver).
We also found 600 cp and 110 gp so...we each get 18 gp and 100 cp (add those to your money totals), with 2 gp left over. The rest of you can fight over the 2 gp or I can hold them until the rest of equipment is sold or traded and we can slit up the money again. If you do not fully trust me yet I understand but I am frugal and hate missing a chance to get any money we can for whatever we find.
We also have 2 potions of healing that anyone can carry, perhaps our healer and another?
And finally this Jade frog, who wants to carry this?...I have no real interest in doing so.
"I will take the Jade Frog and try to find a buyer at some point. I'd like to study it further to see if may have magical properties. I once heard of a talisman that allowed it's owner the ability to breath under water maybe this will give some benefit. If nothing else it could provide a gift for some future relationship."
OldMan also goes over to Yeemik's body to cut off all of the goblin's sword hand fingers. He puts one in his pouch to go with Klarg's hair. Oldman keeps his promises even if it is said in the heat of battle.
"I will agree to travel to town to stay. A bed always leads to better rest than a rock. Thank you Galben for keeping track of our inventory. I trust you with the two GP. But if you steal from us plan on getting a magic missile up your butt."
"Galben, do we have room in the wagon for the provisions and supplies in that other section of the cave? If we are making the trip, why not get rewarded? Or at least pad our supplies? And maybe something in that storeroom belongs to locals. We could get some notoriety there, possibly."
"Jake, we have room for all the supplies from the cave and the weapons from the dead. We will just need to load it all before we head to Phandalin, I will keep track of the inventory"
Responding to Jake, "I don't know where the goblins may have taken my gear. I overheard the goblins discussing that the Black Spider had sent word to waylay Gundren, but I had never heard of the Black Spider before and suspect something more sinister may be afoot. I know Gundren mentioned a map that he was in possession of showing the secret locatino of Wave Echo Cave, but the goblins took it when we were captured. I suspect Klarg sent the map and Gundren to the chief of the Cragmaws to a place called Cragmaw Castle. I've no idea where that might be, but it would not surprise me if someone in Phandalin would know. If you haven't found my gear here, then it's likely the goblins took it with them to Cragmaw Castle, so we best not waste time getting back to Phandalin."
The party gathers all the supplies that were found, the additional captured weapons, and the contents of the Klarg's treasure chest, and you all make your way back toward the wagon, loading all the new supplies into the back with the other provisions that Gundren hired you to transport to Barthen's Provisions in Phandalin. The party sets off again after their diversion down the Triboar Trail heading toward Phandalin.
Along the way, you get to know Sildar Hallwinter a bit better. He is a kindhearted human male of nearly fifty years who holds a place of honor in the famous griffon cavalry of the great city of Waterdeep. He is an agent of the Lords’ Alliance, a group of allied political powers concerned with mutual security and prosperity. Members of the order ensure the safety of cities and other settlements by proactively eliminating threats by any means, while bringing honor and glory to their leaders and homelands.
Sildar’s contact in Phandalin is a human wizard named Iarno Albrek. The wizard traveled to the town two months ago to establish order there. After the Lords’ Alliance received no word from Iarno, Sildar decided to investigate.
As your journey continues and night begins to fall, the rutted track emerges from a wooded hillside, and you catch your first glimpse of Phandalin. The town consists of forty or fifty simple log buildings, some built on old fieldstone foundations. More old ruins—crumbling stone walls covered in ivy and briars—surround the newer houses and shops, showing how this must have been a much larger town in centuries past. Most of the newer buildings are set on the sides of the cart track, which widens into a muddy main street of sorts as it climbs toward a ruined manor house on a hillside at the east side of town.
(Galben looks over at Sidlar while driving the wagon)
"This place has potential, we'll be back once we deliver the wagon and see if we can sell these excess weapons" (continues to drive the wagon towards Barthen's Provisions)
(Pulling the wagon up to the front of the shop Galben looks down at the group)
"Can one of you go in there and find Barthen, I'll stay here with the wagon"
Sildar hops off the wagon, with a wave to the group, and heads off into the growing darkness toward the Stonehill Inn. As the party pulls up to Barthen's Provisions, a young clerk emerges and sees the group before retreating briskly back inside. A moment later, a lean and balding human male of about 50 years emerges, exuding a kindly, if not fatigued, manner.
"Greetings, fine folk, and a pleasant evening to each of you! I've been expecting you, assuming you are indeed in possession of the supplies sent forth from Neverwinter by Gundren Rockseeker. I am Elmar Barthen, owner and proprietor of this fine establishment, one Barthen's Provisions, the largest trading post in all of Phandalin. You all are most welcome here! I am sure you all must be tired after your journey, though I did expect you quite earlier in the day. You caught us at an opportune moment though as we were just about to close up for the evening. My two clerks, Ander and Thistle, would gladly unload these stores for you. (motions to the two clerks who move to the back of the wagon to begin unloading). And, of course, I wouldn't want to neglect this!" (withdraws a coin purse from beneath his robes) "I believe 10 gold per person was the agreed upon price." (hands over the coin)
"Master Barthen," Thistle interjects sheepishly after looking in the back of the wagon, "there are quite many more supplies back here than I believe we were expecting. Some of these are emblazoned with the crest of the Lionshield Coaster, sir."
"Ah, I see you have come into possession of some additional stores," Barthen replies. "Leave those, Thistle, for they are not ours."
Turning back to the group, "I suggest you seek out Linene Graywind, at the Lionshield Coaster, who I expect would pay a handsome reward for the return of her supplies. I suspect she has since left for the evening and made way to a local watering hole; however, I would be most happy to store the provisions here overnight and they can be fetched in the morning, by either yourselves or Linene. Free of charge. We are a small, tight-knit community after all and have to look after each other what with the riffraff around. The wagon and oxen were borrowed from me by Gundren in any event.
Bearkiller takes a swing at Goblin four but slips on the pool of blood that has collected on the cave floor and misses (rolled a 5)
(Galben seeing the final goblin trying to flee pulls an arrow from his quiver and draws back hoping to slow the creature down. He let's the arrow fly planting itself in the back of the beast. The goblin falls to the ground, taking a few breaths and then suddenly none at all.)

"Maybe it would be best to load the wagon and go to town but I am open to other options if the group decides it".
(Galben goes through Yeemiks things to try and find something of value)
Jake takes his mace back from Sildar. "I would take you up on your offer of accommodations. A secure roof over my head is preferable to these goblin caves. Sildar, where are your belongings? We found your mount, slain, on the trail."
