*With any luck, we'll find out what we need to before then and be back here to the road before nightfall.* She walks over to Hrogar and gives him a few more quick strokes on the neck before turning back to Baryeras. *Thank you for agreeing to watch him. We'll be back as soon as we can.*
With that, she heads off to catch up with the others.
Seeing that Morgan finally catches up with them Cyranir smiles at her and nods in ackowledge. " He will be allrigt" he says to her. It's difficult to discern if he was talking about the ranger or about the horse though.

You do realize that a Clydesdale is a type of horse, right? Not an ox?

nope! All this time I thought it was an ox! Don't ask me why! XD Thanks!
A short rest is defined as 30 minutes to 1 hour of light activity and resting. Moving 2 dead horses out of a cart path for 1/2 hour is hard work. So if you want a rest, you will have to take one.
Baryeras: If you stay with the horse, you will lose out on EXP, as you will not be with the rest of the characters for the adventure. I will not be running 2 separate adventures in a PBP. It is hard enough. If you fee that is what your character truly would do, i will award you 1/2 the exp as the rest of the party. Your call of course.
For things like skill checks, only 1 person can make the check. If someone is assisting and they are proficient within the skill, i will allow advantage, so Carodoc, may be able to get advantage on his perception checks moving forward if Cynrair wishes to assist. That will be moving forward however. As of right now, i will use his first perception check so we can move the story alone.
With the party decided to push down the goblins game trail they have been using for what seems like the past little while at the least, Carodoc takes the lead. He is quite, and moves stealthily. He blends into the surrounding shrubs and trees, and the rest of the party occasionally looses him when he stops moving.
Morgan, you notice that this trail is quite narrow, and you guess that nothing bigger then dear would have easily fit through this trail. Your massive beast of burden would never have fit through this with any stealth or ease.
After about 10 minutes of cautious travel, Carodoc continues to moves quite stealthily, but is not paying attention to his surrounding as he should. His furry Halfling foot steps on a small trip wire, you the swishing noise of ropes moving quickly is all the notice he has. (Carodocs DEX SAVE: 22)
With the speed of a mongoose, he whips his foot away from the trip wire just in time to see a rope slightly hidden under the dirt shrink it a noose that would have entangled his foot. A thumping sound comes off to the north on the trail, as a rock suspended behind a tree lands on the ground, as the rope his foot was just in gets yanked up into the tree.
(OOC: Does the marching order stay the same? Does Baryeras join the party? Who will be leading the charge/making perception checks, and who will be assisting if any?)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
I rolled Perception with Advantage, assuming one of my companions would assist - I'll change the name in the narrative if it doesn't end up being Cyrnair. If Morgan is proficient in Perception, her telepathic ability might make it even easier to pass along a warning.
Caradoc the rogue also seems like the natural point person (at least until it gets dark) unless Baryeras chooses to come along.
Caradoc grins over his shoulder at Morgan and mouths "Thank you," then glances at the mechanism. Dad always said that relying on luck was fine, but the harder he worked, the luckier he got. So the halfling examines the trap mechanism to learn more about how to set (and, more important for the near future, spot) such obstacles.
Investigation: 10
After several long seconds, he waves his companions forward and sets off, staying 20 feet or so ahead of the group. He glances back to Cyrnair every few steps, to make sure the aasimar hasn't spotted something he missed.

After another 10 minutes of traveling at a safe and stealthy pace, there is not a sign or whisper of another living creature. Just as Carodoc starts to feel confident in himself and relative safety on the path, his eyes catch sight of dirt that seems slightly off color from the rest of the ground. Taking his sword, he prods at it for a moment, and the dirt collapses inward. A mesh rope holding long, wide leaves covered with dirt snaps down, to reveal a 10 foot deep, 6 foot wide pit with sharpened wooden stakes at the bottom. It would not have held any kind of weight more then Carodoc's.
Navigating around the deadly trap and traveling for another 20 minute or so, you come to a clearing. It is roughly 200 yards across and mostly to the north and west of you (Left and forward). A 10 foot wide stream can be heard and seen to that is to the left of you about 100 yards away, and to the right of you, the trees continue to follow to mountain walls. To the North, the mountain starts to climb dramatically, and you can see as you look up, a steep incline of hundreds of yards of grey rock and frosted mountain tops.
As you watch, you can see that the stream seems to be flowing away from the mountain itself, but you do not see any form of waterfall or snow-thaw coming from the mountains edge itself. The gametrail seems to end with the trees and the clearing of sorts that you have come too. How do you all proceed?
Caradoc will stop at the edge of the clearing and wait for his companions to gather.

“Well done Caradoc “congrats the paladin to their scout. “Wat do we have here?” Asks as looking around trying to see around “Do you think we should explore that stream?” He asks to his companions.
As Frixori comes to the edge of the trees. "Hmm. That's quite a distance without any cover knowing there may be goblins about." Hearing the paladin's suggestion, "Yes, that stream must be coming from somewhere. A cave perhaps?"
Actually Morgan is indeed proficient in Perception, and she'd be willing (somewhat reluctantly due to her general opinion of the halfling) to assist Caradoc in that endeavor.
Morgan remains quiet for the discussion at the edge of the clearing, although she nods in agreement with Frixori's suggestion of a possible cave.
The group works there way along the southern parameter of the clearing, staying close to the trees so that they can get a better view of the stream. The closer they approach, the loader the babbling of the stream becomes. At 20 paces away, it starts to drown out the other typical warm autumn noises of animals and the slight breeze stirring through the firework color-wheel of leaves that autumn gives.
Looking at the stream from this distance, you can tell that it is well supplied, and moving quickly. The stream does not look to be more then a foot deep, though it does appear to be roughly 10 feet across, give or take some distance as your eyes follow the stream northward. As you make your way toward the stream you start to see that this clearing is not a perfect oval, as the northern most section does in fact clear out somewhat towards the mountain. Roughly 220 yards from where you are now, you can see that the water is flowing from a cave at the base of the mountain, and the trees around the cave are roughly 20 to 30 feet away. It leaves a small bowl of grass, dirt and mud where water is pooling in even shallower embankments around the cave entrance.
"Thanks, Cyrnair!" Caradoc whispers. He looks at the others. "That's got to be where they went, right?" he asks, pointing to the cave.
"Would it be better to draw them out or g-go in after them?" His brush with death seems to have given him a bit more caution than you've seen before.
