As Liam sits back from the food, as satisfied as he could be for the time being, he looks to the cleric that seems to be nominally in charge of the other prisoners.
"The refreshment is greatly appreciated, but I'm afraid is of the essence now. We need to proceed through the temple to find out what is going on. Do you think you all can make your own way out of the temple and back towards the village with our help? We've cleared most of the danger between here and the entrance, though you'll need to watch out for some kind of gas trap triggered by a pressure plate not too far back."
She nods affirmatively. "I think I can guide our people out. So long as we are super careful..." Another man speaks up "Yeah, it seemed like most of those monsters were racing upstairs. They only left a few to watch over us... I don't think I saw any of them go back downstairs."
Nia spoke up, "Also, didn't Allani say she was sending Wassername the Ranger Girl? You guys will probably be able to hook up with her on the way home."
"Such a silly name for a Ranger.." Crispy wonders as to why anyone would be called that. She looks in the direction of the prisoners, "Ok, off with you all! Shoo!" She shoos them away. "Onward into danger we go!" she says as she starts heading out.
After a hearty feast, you venture south to another empty, open room.
There is a 8' tall stone stage to your right with stairs leading up to it, with a lever at the base of the stairs. Trails of dried blood seem to lead up the stairs to the top of the stage. From where you are, you can't see the top of it.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Chubby, leading the squad into the room, freezes and places his hand up in the air with a fist, signaling for the group to halt as well. He tilts his head back and sniffs at the air, trying to sense if there is anything....anyone in the room with them.
"I think that would be prudent at this point," Liam says as he nods in agreement with Crispy, though he casts a wary glance at the apparent sacrificial altar...
You head south, and are hit in the faces by a huge gust of wind, peppered by sprinkles of rain. An outer verrandah surrounds the temple and leads to a set of stairs around back. Watch platforms are situated around the outside. A large engraving of an eye is in the stone on one of them.
Do you want us to roll our own 2d10, or should we use a result that you roll?
Nah go ahead and roll your own, good question :)

Time is definitley in short supply. But, it’s your call!
If you wish to escort them out to safety, by all means go for it.
Or do you get to the top in time to see what is happening?
The choice is yours

Crispy freezes, and waits to see if Chubby finds anything.
You don't seem to hear or smell anyone.
You sense the tinny smell of blood.
You hear the howling of wind and crackling lightning to the south.

Head up?

Crispy looks around the room before they head up, just in case something seems..amiss.
