(OOC: We didn't have time to set up watch but I would guess all four of us would take a shift each. Let's say Sarya was awake.)
After eating and talking for a bit with her friends, Sarya would try to sleep, lying close to Ghathi for warmth. As it is her turn to watch she also calls upon the help of Razul to keep vigilance over the group. When the howling starts she immediately wakes up the others, sending Razul to find the pack of wolves and to try to determine if it is heading their way.
Getting up immediately, Dwalt will pull out torches from his pack and use Druidcraft to light each 1, sticking them into the ground around the group., 6 in all. He will then pull his hand axe and start cutting branches down and puts them into a pile.
"Fire helps ta keep them at bay." he says as he works. "If'n their not starvin'."
Once done, Dwalt will wait with his crossbow loaded, ready for the fight.

Ghathi slowly awakens, gathering his weapon and shield once he understands the reason Sarya has disturbed his sleep. He sees the fire from the torches and hears Dwalt's comments. "Seems like many are starving in this endless cold. We best be wary." He will pray quietly to Ilmater to grant him Vigilant Blessing (advantage on next Initiative Roll), then examine the surroundings for any further signs of these wolves. (Perception: 25)
Tysris would cut up and butcher part of the moose meat, putting it in a sack as they try to make a shelter.
(Now)
When they hear the howl of the wolves, approaching closer, he pulls the remaining body of the moose into a clearing and tries to find a place to hide, a place to ambush the wolves if they are indeed the hunters that they seem to be. When Dwalt starts some fire, he sets the sack of moose meat by the fire and tries to heap up a wall of snow around the edges, also setting down branches, trying to keep them hidden from view. “Dwalt, use that magical skill and make something that smells terrible to a wolf here. Hopefully, they will seek out the moose meat in the clearing and we can catch them off guard.” Tysris readies himself for a fight, trying to keep an ear toward where the wolves are coming from and and eye on the moose body, hoping the smell of the fresh moose meat in the clearing lures the wolves there.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Dwlat nods to Tysris. "Good idea" he says "But tha range will only be about 30 ft. an' won't last long but, its worth a shot."
((OCC: Can we climb into the tree grove we are camping in or are the trees too small? If we can Dwalt will suggest the party climb into the trees.))
Once the fires are lit and the moose carcass is in place, Dwalt will keep his crossbow at the ready. If a wolf appears and gets within 30 ft. of the party's location, Dwalt will cast Druidcraft recreating the scent of skunk spray near the wolf. If this works as a deterrent, Dwalt will use this over and over again till the wolves leave them alone or attack.
Sarya nods to the others, confident in their ability to ward off the pack of wolves. Nevertheless she stays vlose to the camp fire, awaiting a report from Razul an is ready to use her eldritch powers to create a wall of fire to stop the pack should they decide to attack.

the wolf pack is definetely heading your way, Razul can see a total of 5 circling towards your camp.

you can calimb, trees are tall enough to keep you out of the wolves range.
Wolves perception to decide wethere there's any food near the skunk smell ((I'll roll with advantage due to their keen senses but increase DC to 16 so it'll be harder for them to detect anything worth attacking/eating)) 23
So six wolves circle towards the camp, they walk slowly and howl every 10 ft. until they are too close to smell Dwalt's skunk's smell and then decide there's nothing worthy and move on.

the night will continue until you get a full rest. As always a weak sun appears for few hours in the morning. Once you pack everything you can resume your search for the moose.
((I'll continue with the rolls for the search but if you want to take an action with the wolves encounter let me know - maybe dwalt would want a couple of extra pelts, so that's fine. You'll need to roll a stealth check and if higher than 22 you'll be able to surprise the wolves))

Seeing the wolves disappear into the forest again, Sarya nods to the others. "They definitely made the right choice." She says, returning to her watch, then sleeping close to Ghathi for warmth when it is over, sitting close to the camp fire the next morning while having a ration breakfast, then following on Snowstrider and trying to assist Dwalt as he starts to look for white moose tracks, Razul keeping an eye on the ground for threats as he flutters around invisible.

Razul flutters around looking for anything hiding in the forest. its perception= 10 vs 4
((By the way the d4 I've been rolling represent hours looking for the moose. we've established that you started looking for the moose again after leaving camp. Would you like to specify the time your party woke up or usually is awake? I know there aren't any clocks around ha, but let's say that you've been living here for a while now and are aware that somewhere around 10 am - the sun is high enough to shed some light into the dale and it continues for 4 hours. So would you organize your rest to wake up and continue your search at what time? before there's any light? or afterwards?))

Tysris sufficiently satisfied his anger on the moose, he leaves the wolves alone, especially in light of the 6 of them.

Razul perceived movement near it but couldn't identify nothing. Maybe just the wind.

Tysris listens and searches around with his eyes, trying to spot anything amiss, looking for the elusive white moose..
