Dwalt pauses for a moment the asks. "SO, what brought the kobolds to this part of the tunnels? Did the humans dig into kobold homes or has the kobolds moved here from someplace else?"
Dwalt pauses for a moment the asks. "SO, what brought the kobolds to this part of the tunnels? Did the humans dig into kobold homes or has the kobolds moved here from someplace else?"
"Too much questions, Gulik feel dizzy" Gulik continue walking and then says " Food is almost ready, you hungry?"
A table and chairs are set up in this area to create a space for the miners to take breaks. On top of the table, two kobolds are poking a giant rat with their javelins to make sure it’s dead. The kobolds ignore Gulik but they'll screech once loudly once they see you. Tuk and Gulik will simply laugh at them.
The tunnel continues north and then it begins to go down (allowing you to reach a lower level without the need of a bucket lift). Gulik and Tuk continue, the two kobolds poking at the rato will looke nervously at the whole party as they pass them.
Sarys nods and smiles politely at the two kobolds as they pass them. "So I take it you simply want a place to stay then?"She continues in a friendly tone as they continue through the lower tunnels of the gem mine.
The tunnel’s downward slope ends where it opens onto the center shaft. A wooden walkway extends from this opening and then runs westward to another tunnel in the rock. In front of you, a large bucket like the one you saw earlier dangles from a taut rope that stretches southward across the shaft and is connected to another wooden platform 15 feet away.
The kobolds ignore the bucket and continue walking over the wooden walkway towards the western tunnel.
Lurking in this dusty tunnel are three skittish kobolds. One of them carries a threadbare satchel and wears a fake pair of dragon wings made of thin wood and tattered white cloth. This kobold immediately raises its hands in surrender, saying in Common, “We mean you no harm. Please don’t hurt us.”

Tysris is taking it all in, turns to the winged kobold and says "What's your name? Can you tell us what is going on here? Your group has caused a problem with the operation of this here mine. Are you aiming to mine it?" He pauses and considers the kobold's words, comparing him to the other kobolds. What is going on here??

"That is good Trex, because we don't want to hurt you either." Sarya starts confidently as they meet the faux winged leader of the kobolds. "We have heard you came here to escape the cold. The miners of Termalaine wants to continue to work in this mine. Would you consider cooperating with the miners or perhaps allow yoursleves to be relocated somewhere else?" She suggests clamly.
Persuasion: 6 Another roll if help is given by someone: 6

Trex walks slowly near the party and starts explainign that “The everlasting winter has made the wilderness unsafe for my kind, and the preternatural cold dulls our wits. Please, we only want a place to stay so we can keep out of this horrible weather, the miners never gave me a chance to explain our intentions. We can work, and we won’t cause trouble. Termalaine would be richer for having us.”

Sarya realizes her proposal comes off as more aggressive than intended but fortunately Trex seems fully intent on a peaceful solution. "I'm sure you are right Trex, kobolds are known for being great miners, the harvesting of gems from this mine would surely see more success with you involved."She says with a friendly smile. "Perhaps you will come with us back to town and meet with Speaker Masthew. We have no real authority to make any deals I believe. There was one more thing though. A miner have apparently disappeared some time ago and an incursion from the underdark was suspected. You wouldn't know anything about that?"

"Sure, that sounds lovely. I'll gladly have a word with speaker Masthew to explain the situation and how we can be of service..." after that he pauses and continues " We never encountered a lost miner, as you should've seen on your way here there is an enourmous shaft that's a one way ticket to the underdark...maybe he fell? though I shall mention that we lost one of our one as well, little Vurok went north on the second level just above the lift bucket and we never saw him again."
You can't help to get a very odd feeling from Trex, the kobolds express himself very well, even better than most humans. You have no experience with other kobolds (other than the ones you met before and brought you here) but still... it doesn't feel right. Trex is honest about somethings but defenitely not about something
Not sure what Trex might be holding back Sarya is not worried that any surprises from the kobold could not be dealt with. "Then come with us Trex." She says with a smile and nods. "I'm sure you will be back soon with your tribe to explain whatever arrangements you make with Speaker Masthew. Perhaps we should stop by where Vurok was lost to make sure the mine is safe again."She says, turning to the others for their opinion.
"if'n he's true ta his word, it wouldn't be safe fer him ta leave and speak ta Masthew." Dwalt says to Sarya. "Their all fired ta keep tha mine an' get rid of interlopers. I say if'n there is ta be a negotiation then a neutral site be located and talks between representatives be done, not tha chief's themselves. Safer fer both sides and real talkin' happens, not posturin' or bullyin'"
"Well, the way I understand it Trex and his tribe of kobolds are prepared to let the miners get back to work, maybe even helping them out with their expertise in mining. And if Trex is willing to come along to Termalaine to meet Speaker Masthew I can't see why he can't do that. Surely the speaker will see that reaching an agreement about cooperation would be better than to kill Trex and still have these kobolds running around in his mine." Sarya says to Dwalt and the others.

(I'm not sure what Dwalt and Sarya were intending as far as talking in front of Drex or having a side discussion. Ghathi will just talk directly with him.)
"I wonder Trex, why did the miners all run off? None of your people have weapons? You didn't attack anyone when you arrived?" Ghathi asks. "I also wonder about your wings. I've never seen wings like that before. How did you get them?"
"Hmm." Dwalt says. "Never flies."
Dwalt pauses for a moment the asks.
"SO, what brought the kobolds to this part of the tunnels? Did the humans dig into kobold homes or has the kobolds moved here from someplace else?"
" Trex found the place for us" says Gulik " I followed Tuks, less cold inside, no Yeti inside" says Tuks

"Evenin" Dwalt says as he passes the two kobolds by, following their hosts.
He leans over to Sarya and whispers.
"Well that solves that little mystery. They moved in an' run tha miners off."
Sarya nods to Dwalt and whispers back. "They seem peaceful enough. Maybe we can work something out."
Ghathi continues following the others. "They seem oddly friendly for having run off the miners. Where do you suppose we're heading for?"

"To meet their smart and winged leader Trex I presume." Sarya turns and answers the Goliath with a smile.
