`Dwalt moves forward, looking around in hopes that this ogre does not keep pets...like wolves and such. He will try and locate the mission Ale, or empty barrels of said ale.
Stealth: 14
Once he finds or doesn't find what he is looking for he will move back to the rest of the party and see what they want to do.
Darby stays behind the others but close enough to still hear what is being said. He will ready himself forna fight as he readies his focus, waiting for a signal on what their next step is.

Dwalt slowly checks the contents of the casks on the southern wall without waking up the ogre, one of the three casks is empty, each of the other two holds 20 gallons of honey mead. (Each full cask weighs 200 pounds)
With Thaddeus roll you are all together in distance to discuss any plan or further steps. The hanging baskets could be checked with a stealth roll and also picking up the casks will requiere another roll but this time athletics.
Anyone with at least 10 of strength can lift a cask and could use help for the stealth check.
"So is that the verbeeg or what? As it seems to be responsible for the deaths of those militiamen perhaps we owe it to the town to exact some justice by putting it down?"Sarya says in a lowered voice, making sure not to wake the ogre.

((Locals - Dwalt, Grim and Ghathi would know that the ogre would never be considered a Verbeeg in the Dale ))
"Yes, okay, figured the last part out, but please, any opinion on whether to kill it or not?" Sarya whispers, looking at the others. "As we also will have a verbeeg to deal with we should perhaps take this ogre out before it wakes up."

Dwalt leans his head to one side, squints his eyes and rubs his head.
"Tha only way ta find out is ta ask 'em" he says. "We best find out if there's more around before we do though."
Dwalt will look at the tracks in the front of this cave. He is attempting to identify if there are more than 1 set of tracks and if those tracks are the same or are their different sets, ie are there different ogre's or other things coming and going out of this cave.
Grim responds to Sarya, "I mostly believe in live and let live. But this ogre has clearly killed and robbed over some mead. I cannot believe it would stop there. We should kill him."

Survival: 7
Perception: 21
Perception roll allows you to see there are many more tracks, several belong to animals and two larger sets of tracks - I'm taking survival here + passive perception or even the roll, the dusty cave present several tracks but can't say exactly what they belong to, but it is safe to assume that at least one of the bigger set of tracks were made by the ogre
"Well if it is going to get bad quick why don't we scratch that plan and just kill it. I'm not sure what piece of information you think it could provide us with, if it even can be talked to. Most likely it will just alert the verbeeg that probably is resting somewhere else in these caves right?" Sarya whispers.
"I ain't murdered anyone in their sleep." Dwalt says. "An' we don't know if he did tha killin' or just stole tha kegs. Do ya want ta go slashin' throats right off an' not figure out what's true?"
"So your plan is to wake up the ogre and ask it if it killed the militiamen and took the casks of mead then? With a verbeeg lurking around somewhere here that sounds a bit unnecessary dangerous to me. Are you sure you want to do this Dwalt? We could be facing the both of them before we know it right?" Sarya whispers to Dwalt.
Ghathi isn't quite sure what to make of the dwarf and his concerned for the ogre's well-being. "Not sure how you've come to be so worried about ogres, but if you need to chat with him first then go ahead." He finds a spot with a bit of cover where he would be able to cast a spell at the ogre if needed.

Seeing Ghathi take cover Sarya shrugs and finds somewhere to hide, ready to blast the ogre as soon as waking it up goes bad, also keeping a look out for that verbeeg. Stealth: 21 Perception: 23

Darby raises his hand as if to protest the plan but then ends up shaking his head and moving off to the side to attempt to hide. As he does so he readies himself to cast, hands poised to begin the somatic parts of a spell.
Dwalt shakes his head. "Ain't concerned with Ogres as much as stayin' on tha side of tha angels and gettin' tha right one." Dwalt whispers back.
Dwalt waits for everyone to get into position. He closes his eyes for a moment and takes a deep breath. "Alright lad, don't die too quick." he tells himself.
Dwalt makes sure he is in the middle of the entrance.
"HEY!" he yells. "IN THA CAVE. COME OUT HERE I GOT A QUESTION FER YA!" Dwalt readies his crossbow.
((there was no need to roll stealth again, since you were just repositioning))
The ogre wakes up startled by Dwalt's rough voice, you can see it's eyes opened wide and immediately starts shouting "Friend! FRIEEEND!!" - its face wasn't joyous though, he wasn't claiming Dwalt could be a long lost friend or the prospect of a new one, it was more like an alarm as if he was calling someone else. He then tries to reach its bloodstained club but before he can stands from where he was sleeping you'll have a surprise round since you were ready for something like this and we'll...the ogre wasn't.
Let's roll for initiative - I'll roll the ogre's one after all of you take a turn.

In a quiet whisper, Grim responds, "That is an ogre, not a verbeeg. Judging by the blood on its club, I suspect this is the killer of the militia."

Sarya nods at Grim and then turns to Dwalt. "Ask who about what Dwalt? I'm not sure I follow your thought process here."
"Who do ya think we can ask." Dwalt says.
After looking at the tracks Dwalt nods his head, as if he has made a decision.
"Alright you lot, get yer self hid." he says. "Try an' stay where ya can see an' get a good shot, cause this will probably go bad quick."
With that Dwalt takes a position directly in the middle of the cave entrance and waits for the party to react.
