OOC: Hmm ... You guys don't have a "Launch Maps" button? Have you tried going to "Maps" directly?
"That's a mighty fine staff," the old orc says. "I think I might know someone who can help you, but he doesn't speak the human tongue. I would have to translate for you."
OOC: If you mean Collections > My Campaigns > View Campaign (ours), the only options we have are "Create a campaign", "My Campaigns", and "Content management".
There is also TOOLS > Maps (alpha), i think you need a subscription for that.
OOC: Have you tried Tools > Maps (alpha)? I have access to it, but I have a subscription, too.
While Maverick and Eskee discuss things with Wanda, the old orc leads Stun back through the market to a small forge where a little, muscular orc hammers away at a piece of metal. The old orc interrupts the smith and, in orcish, introduces Stun and his staff. As translated by the old orc, the orc smith asks Stun about the staff, where he got it, what it's made of, and what Stun wants him to do with it.
OOC: Yeah i checked out the Maps under tools but it says you need a subscription in order to access it
Stun will tell the old man to tell the orc the how it was made and who it was made from (tbh i think it was made in the halfling village if i remember correctly and it was made of iron(?) to make it heavy). He also tell of how it was used in his recent battles and shows a demonstration of his martial abilities to give some ideas or inspiration to the orc. Stun asks (or at least tries lol) the orc of equipment he wants made...
OOC: So the idea i was thinking of is creating gauntlets, boots with shin guards, knees and elbow pads with either spikes or metal padding. (the idea is to increase damage to the unarmed strikes while using the gauntlets and the shin pads as a sheild to give +1 to AC if you would allow Bruce.)
"He says he can make the metal parts," the old orc translates, "but we'll have to go to a tanner or tailor for the leather or cloth to attach them to."
OOC: So, basically, you're wanting a suit of studded leather armor?
OOC: yeah lol, but without the the chest plate. If I'm wearing armor I get disadvantage on alot of stuff.
Stun nods to the orc smith, then says to the old orc, calmly, "Very well, we will see to it. Can you ask him if there is anything we should be aware of about the Tanner? do they have a healthy relationship that they are able to work together?"
The old orc says something to the smith and they both laugh. "Yeah, sure," the old orc says to Stun. "Getting help from the tanner shouldn't be a problem." The old orc takes you past a few shops to a store front. As you open the door, your senses are jarred by the smell of fresh leather. Clothing and accessories made of leather fill the shelves and hang from pegs on the wall. Another elderly orc with long gray hair stands behind a counter with his back to you as he goes through some articles on the back wall. The old orc with Stun clears his throat to get the other one's attention. When the tanner turns around, you immediately notice two large tusks protruding up from his lower lip and nearly touching his eyes.
The two orcs exchange greetings and clasp arms. The old orc then points to Stun and says something to the tanner. After the tanner replies with a laugh, the old orc says, "C'mon, follow me."
The two orcs take you into a back room. The tanner directs you to stand on a stool in the middle of the room. He pulls a tape measure out of the pocket on his coveralls and begins taking measurements. After a short while, he stands up, puts a hand to his chin, snaps his fingers, and with a toothy grin, says something to the old orc. The tanner then turns around and begins going through stacks of leather piled on a table. He says something again over his shoulder to the old orc.
"He says it may take a while for him to get all the pieces cut, but they should be ready by the morning," the old orc tells Stun. "Let's go see what your friends are up to."
Wanda pulls out five small vials. She hands Maverick two containing a greenish liquid. "For poisons, 20 gold each. Be careful not to confuse them with your healing potions," she laughs. She then holds out two vials containing a thick yellow liquid. "This serpent venom is 50 gold per vial. I had a terrible time getting it.
"And this," she says showing Maverick a small vial containing a clear liquid, "is the best acid used by thieves, assassins and rogues throughout Salzaria. It can severely damage an enemy. This is very potent and concentrated. One drop can melt through a metal lock as if it was nothing. I can give you this for 40 gold. So, that's 180 gold for the lot. Make it an even 200 gold, and I'll throw in a bag of my pixie dust."
Stun nods to the Tanner as he finishes his measurements, "Elder one, please tell the tanner thank you for his time and expertise. I can't wait to see the final product!"
As the two are leaving the shop to meet up with the rest of the party, Stun talks to the old orc, "I couldn't help but noticed when you were conversating on my behave that you seem to have a good relationship with the merchants. I can't help but admire and respect a community who can work together through hard times and share a laugh. It makes miss the Temple."
Stun can't help but get lost in thought for a moment, "A have a question for you if you don't mind me asking. I would like to know more about you're culture and how to fit in, what do you think is the best way to go about that?"
The old orc laughs. "I'm afraid, my little friend, that someone like you would never fit in here. This is a village of pigeni orcs, the enemy of all 'civilized' races, created by the Dark Lord to fight the elves, dwarves, and humans. You'd have a better chance fitting in with gnolls than with orcs."
Maverick hands over 200gp winks and says " Thanks this is grately appreciated. If you dont mind me asking" Maverick leans in and says softly " between us, What makes your pixi dust so special?"
Stun says to the old orc, "Perhaps you are right elder. "Fitting in" seems not to be the right course of action." He scratches his check while he thinks for a moment.
"I got it..." Stun comes to a idea, "...I have heard stories of orc working with other races like goblins to fight in armies. Tell me, what values do orcs respect in other warriors?"
"Strength, for one thing," the old orc replies. "A lone goblin is very weak, but they have strength in numbers. They can also be very clever when the need strikes. Goblins are mostly used for cannon fodder, though, when they fight alongside orcs." The orc thinks for a moment. "Loyalty and honesty are also high on the list," he says eventually.
"I see, I see...." Stun says out loud to the old orc as they continue to meet up with the rest of the party, "So, how would one best demonstrate these values to the orcs here? does one challenge another orc with social statues to a contest?"
"You could do that, though it would prove very little," the old orc explains to Stun. "It depends on who or what you are loyal to, and if you can stay loyal to them in a fight. Orcs hate nothing more than a coward who betrays his loyalty to save his own neck. Honesty is easy. Don't lie, or if you do, don't get caught in a lie."
OOC: Hmm ... You guys don't have a "Launch Maps" button? Have you tried going to "Maps" directly?

Eskee will wait while Maverick looks at the potions.

"How much for 2 poisons and 2 venom potions? Also do you happen to have any potions that that could eat through material like acid would?"

Maverick takes the vials and says "if these are as good as you say I will be cack for more."
Maverick looks at thr others and says " Unless you guys have anything to do or anywhere to go I am good. How do you guys think the talk is going?"
Stun says to the old orc, "Perhaps you are right elder. "Fitting in" seems not to be the right course of action." He scratches his check while he thinks for a moment.

“Sound advice,” Eskee says to the orc and Stun as he joins back up with them.
