Had it not been so cold Kha would be relishing the rainstorm. Instead he huddles under his leather hood on the deck, as it's better than doing nothing below deck. The orc turns as the captain calls out the approaching threat. A smile cracks his face with the prospect of the inevitable contest, however that smile fades to concern as the pirate ship appears intent on running down the Remorahz. He reaches for a rope to brace himself, but its a moment too late as he is thrown forward off his feet and begins sliding toward the edge of the deck.
Thinking quickly Trem throws his rope after Kha, while holding the other end (I don't think there's enough time to tie it?) DEX save: 23 (rolled in game log)
No time to tie it. Trem would have to be the anchor for Kha.
Kha is saved and is holding on the rope inches from the ocean waves.
The ship rights itself and settles down.
Once back up you notice the pirates are swarming over the Remorhaz. The Captain of the Remorhaz and her crew are engaging the pirates. You see a prominent figure in red cloak brandishing his sword and nonchalantly jumps from the pirate ship on the Remorhaz. If you had to guess he is the pirate captain.
In his slide to the edge, Kha scrambles to find something to grab onto, but to no avail and continues toward the icy waters below. Just as the orc slips over the edge of the deck he sees the rope thrown from Trem. He quickly loops it around his wrist to brace for the life-line to be pulled taught. The sudden stop of his descent causes the tendons in his arm to tear and he lets out a cry of pain.
"Your scrawny ass better hold on tight!" he calls from below. Kha takes a breath at the close call and begins to haul himself back up.
He immediately kisses the deck, but soon sees the pirates have boarded their ship. "Out of the pot and into the fire, huh?"The cleric brandishes his hammer and shield then march toward the one in red. "May the storm bring a quick end to you!"
(Dexterity rolls continue to treat me nicely... Initiative 1)
Eline stands ready, the Ice Knife spell extending it from thin air a bare few millimeters above her right forearm. She stands knees slightly bent, like a predator ready to pounce. (I know it's not my turn yet, but wanted to ready an action when it is.)
