Mage Hand should give us the safe range to open it." He then looks at Trem and says "There is probably a password or phrase that bypasses it. Considering that Hulil had a dragon tatoo on her face and the 5 head dragon mural on the wall. I'm guessing she was a follower of Tiamat. Only historical reference to a 5 head dragon of any sort I know of... she's the antithesis of Bahamut." The gnome pauses, looking a bit flustered. "Sorry, I tend to ramble... it's part of my job as a librarian and educator." "Anyone know any prayers to Tiamat?" (OOC : Roll Religion (+4) : 13) "That maybe a bypass for any spells placed on the chest, but it's definitely not a glyph of warding, those are Abjuration spells."

Roxaria moves back at Trem’s behest; however, she vies for a position so she can see what’s going on also. She listens to Reginald with curious interest.
”I’ll be honest, I know nothing about dragons, other than they can be nasty. Think it will be a big bang?”
"For all I know it could be 'Tiamat is the bestest' OR it could be a random phrase... I'm just going by the wall mural and dragon tatoos on Hulil's face. It might even be just be a physical trap with magic device attached to it. All I've ruled out is that it is not an explosive runes spell." Reginald says with a grimace.
As Trem and Reginald continue to debate the potentially trapped chest, Roxaria curiously approaches the mural of the 5-headed dragon. She looks over the mural closely.
(ooc- is there any writing or anything interesting about the mural that may have been passed over on a first, passing look?)
Kha shakes his head as Reginald explains some of the symbols. "I don't drink a whole lotta tea, so I don't know anything about tea mats, Aunt Teethus or baja mutt. I only pray to Kord."
"I know you folks are scared of catching this disease, but maybe lets take a closer look at things instead of just guessing. Anyone here good at these types of things... traps and what-not?" The orc looks around to the group, edging closer to the chest. "I mean, I can take a look but my eyes aren't used to looking for this stuff. I'll even ask the Storm Lord for his blessing to help...?"
(If no one offers, Kha will take a look at the chest, otherwise he will cast guidance on who steps up.)
Vauthok spent the majority of the party’s interaction with Hulil giving the massive frog his best stare down. In all honesty, he didn’t feel much sympathy for the dwarf and her plight. Still a thief. No honor in what she did. So when Hulil brushed passed the giant and left her ice frog Vauthok snorted dismissively, turning around and making his way closer to his group.
The barbarian let out a low appreciative whistle while examining the chest and listening to the others converse over their next step. “I’ll let you guys figure this one out..” Vauthok explained while waving his hands in front of himself and backed to where Roxaria stood. “Last time I tried to open a magical chest my way didn’t go so well..” Pointblank explosions weren’t ideal in any situation no matter it’s nature. First and last time Vauthok would try to put a axe through a magical barrier.

Roxaria looks at Vauthok and then to Kha, Reginald, Trem, and Eline. “I don’t know how mage hand works, but how will a magic hand work if it cannot see what it is touching? Kha, you think Kord will protect me?”
She steps forward and unhooks the latch that keeps her shield slung to her back. Roxaria approaches the chest and braces the shield against her shin and foot as she kneels in front of the chest. She can feel the adrenaline rushing through her veins and her heart beating faster to deliver that biological chemical throughout her body. She carefully looks over the chest. She looks for any springs, thin wire, a false latch or trigger.
"I wasn't talking about opening it just yet. Since we don't have much room in here I think the best thing to do would be disarm the thing if the chest goes 'boom', like Regi said could happen. That way when we do open it whatever is inside it doesn't go fly around," Kha replies to Trem.
The orc gives a Roxaria an approving nod. "Certainly... He favors the brave."

Eline casts her Mage Hand, and stepping forward, she carefully makes her way next to Roxaria. "I'm really unsure about this. Something has just seeming so off about all of this." She makes a wide, generalized gesture. "I have to wonder..."
Eline takes a longer look from her vantage point at the chest, thinking, and striving to determine what could set off the evocation slapped onto it. Carefully, gently, and meticulously--without actually touching the box, and kneeling in front of the chest, Eline inspects the dragon shape with the holes and powder. She notes the Tiamat likeness, and thinks back on her studies. Carefully reaching into her satchel, she draws out her sketch book, and quickly inks in a drawing of the dragon shape with the small holes in it. Then, returning her sketch book to her satchel and thinking back on her own studies of draconic lore, tries to determine if there is some sort of prayer to Tiamat that could be uttered to disarm the trap.
Breathing deeply and kneeling carefully in front of the chest, she shuts her eyes, and strives to recall all that she had learned about dragons and even Tiamat. Eline inwardly curses her lack of knowledge of the draconic tongue, but nevertheless opts to utter a basic supplicant prayer to Tiamat in the Primordial tongue, with which she is familiar.
(11 Religion check to utter a basic supplicant prayer to Tiamat in Primordial, to hopefully disarm the trap that way, or find out if praying to the evil dragon goddess will even do anything...)
Trem pushes everyone as far as possible from the chest.

Tiamat's taets! Does it need to be sincere or can I just curse it's name?

(Reginald does not know of a prayer for Taimat)

(There is nothing of note upon closer inspection. Its just a mural. Everyone can roll religion checks to see if they know a prayer for Tiamat)
There's another blue vial. Lets dunk this one with chest and all in the water... It's saver for everyone and we need to find the other vial anyway.

Roxaria backs off from the mural as Trem and Reginald start exploring their options with the potentially trapped chest.

I doubt Trem knows any prayers at all, but here we go: 12 (roll in game log)

If we're going to open it, might I suggest Mage Hand?

The orc gives a Roxaria an approving nod. "Certainly... He favors the brave."
The stone chest’s outer lid is carved with the face of a dragon. Roxaria finds pin-sized openings in the dragon’s mouth that contain a blue powder
“Oof. Trem. Do you know anything about how traps work? There’s a pin-sized hole with blue powder in it.”
She continues to observe the hole, “You think there is some striking device that will ignite the powder if we opened it?”
Roxaria backs away from the chest to confer with everyone what their plan should be.
Eline casts her Mage Hand, and stepping forward, she carefully makes her way next to Roxaria. "I'm really unsure about this. Something has just seeming so off about all of this." She makes a wide, generalized gesture. "I have to wonder..."

Eline does not know any prayer for Tiamat.
Trem does know a part of a prayer for Tiamat.
