"Oh, ok, thank you from the warning" replies Khessa, running promptly near the lighted rope to avoid to find herself all of a sudden in utter darkness. "Let's wait to hear how Dazlyn and Norbus think better to proceed. Rel will be back pretty soon, I think. We have been slowed down by secret passages and investigations, but we did not cover a great distance".
After about fifteen minutes or so, Rel returns with Norbus and Dazlyn in tow. The two dwarves are still bickering amicably, but they appear excited for the first time. When they spot the greenish glow emanating from the rubble, Dazlyn jabs Norbus in the side. "I told you there was treasure here!" he crows, while Norbus just grunts.
Dazlyn and Norbus have brought pickaxes and shovels. They have enough for everyone to grab a tool and use it to clear the rubble. With Dazlyn and Norbus's help, it will take 6 hours to clear all the rubble away. By the time you finish clearing the rubble it will be evening.
OK, well... If I'm not mistaken, there are six of us, but the corridor shouldn't be wide enough for everyone to work at the same time. So Khessa advises splitting up in pairs and taking turns: while a first pair works, a second pairs stands watch, ready in case of problems, and a third pair rests. At each turn change (we can do turns of 1 hour, maybe?), the pair rotate the roles. So, over the course of the 6 hours, we should be able to clear the passage and also take all a short rest, right? If I am right, this is what Khessa advises.
Then, when the passage is clear, out of caution, Norbus and Dazlyn may wait while we adventurers enter and verify that there are no dangers.
After six hours of taking turns resting and digging, you finally manage to clear the passage enough to file through into the room beyond. The room isn't that large, and it looks to be a sort of prayer or offering room of sorts. An alcove in the south wall holds the rubble of a shattered statue. An alcove to the north holds a statue of a dwarf with horns, which stares greedily at a glowing green gem in its hands.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Khessa is wary of the seemingly unattended gems: "Those gems are perhaps better taken without touching them, from a good distance away, for example with some of the hands created by magic that Echo and Rel Serafin know how to evoke... I'm afraid the statue may hide some danger. The gems so exposed... are too tempting, they could very well be a trap. But first of all, let's check the rubble of this shattered statue. If one of the two statues had gems... why the other should have been without nothing?"
And so, also trying to pay attention to any monsters (gelatinous or not) lurking, the blonde arcane warrior approaches the shattered statue and checks the rubble.
To Khessa: “I agree, we shouldn’t rush with that glowing gem. I will see if I can feel the magic coming from that gem while you look through that rubble.”

Rel looks from the south alcove to the north alcove and back. At the green flecks in the rubble of the shattered statue to the south.
"It looks a little like the statue to the south might have once been like the statue to the north, holding a green gem. But it has... been destroyed? I too am wary of this and feel no real need to take the green gem."
She backs away a bit and looks for anything that may have destroyed the southern statue (and she assumes, the green gem that it once held).
”We should stay away from that statue. I think it’s dangerous. And that glowing gem might just be an enticement to bring us to it. We need to leave this room.”

As Dazlyn and Norbus enter into the room, Norbus' eyes go wide. "Look at the size of that gem!" he exclaims, seemingly not hearing Jasper. "You were right, Dazlyn. We found the treasure!"
Before Dazlyn can respond, Norbus starts reaching for the statue and the gem it holds...
...Khessa sprints at Norbus, yelling at him, "No! Wait!" and throws herself at him to force him away (she pushes him, if necessary) "Haven't you seen the rubble?" she points behind herself with her thumb "Fragments of rocks and of green gem! It was most likely a statue and a gem like that! Do you want to reduce this statue and this gem to rubble also?! Let us finish looking for traps, before. Do you really think that a god of greed would leave his gems within the reach of the first intruder?"
"Speaking of that, Jasper" the blonde arcane warrior asks (but without averting her blue eyes from the dwarf - she would not want him to do careless moves) "did you discover anything with your spell? You said you think it is dangerous... it is because you detected harmful magic? There is a magical trap?"
These dwarves and their greed may get us killed. Have they even given us the sending stones they said they would?
Rel backs away further and uses her father's angelic magic to cast Minor Illusion to make the statue appear as if it is a foot to the left of where it actually is. Attempting to make Norbus grasp for air instead of the the gem. ((Physical interaction with the illusion reveals it to be a fake, but Rel is trying to buy time. Also taking an action to make a DC14 Investigation/Intelligence check reveals the illusion. Lasts one minute. No concentration required.))
"Stop, Norbus! Look around you. Something destroyed the other statue in the southern alcove with its green gem. It is not safe. Unless perhaps you wish to be turned into an ooze by Abbathor as these other greedy worshippers were."
In the meantime, Khessa finds the time to think, with a half-smile: 'I really wonder what's the reason why Abbator, god of greed, punished his priests... Did they try to steal their god's gems, thus angering him? Or they did NOT try to steal the gems, thus showing TOO FEW greed? I'll never understand the perverted mind of an evil god...'
“I can sense an enchantment on that gem. It must be there to bring people close or even take it. Then I also feel something coming from the statue. Something unstable. Maybe that other statue shattered or exploded. It will hurt everyone close. We need to leave this place. Now!” Jasper urges everyone to leave the room walking to the passage.

"I think you're right Jasper!" looks worried Khessa "This combination of magic really stinks of trap. Norbus, guys... Let's get out of the room. We might try to get the gem with magic, from distance. More safe".
And she tries to accompany all outside the room.
