Zerxius vaults the spikes and comes to the head of the tunnel with the two dwarves, looking out over a cavernous room with dog-sized spiders swarming the Armored Figure and the Giant Spider in the far NorthWestern edge of his vision.
Rantel finds a small piece of stone tilted in, touching it the spikes retract back into the floor, allowing for unimpeded progress across the trap. It's unclear if the trap will trigger if anyone steps on the slightly darker stone lining the tunnel floor.
Ok:
Hogshead, Drax and Zerxius are clear of the trap and in the mouth of the tunnel. At the end of the tunnel is the remnants of a walkway, about 10 feet square. The cavern floor is about 15 feet below - and that's where the spiders and the Armored Figure are locking in a swirl of combat. The nearest spider on the map is 30 feet from you, but 15 feet down. @Hogshead, @Drax and @Zerxius - you all have a full turn to do as you like.
Rantel, Jane and Bree are on the other side of the trap. The spikes have been retracted. Give me a Dex check if you try to make it across without touching the darker stones. You all have a full turn as well including movement - you are about 30 ft from being in visual range of the spiders on the map. From there you'll be about 30-35ft from the nearest one.
Rantel says "don't step on the dark stones, and if you can't see the dark stones, step where I step." He walks forward, doing his best to step on the lighter stones.

(If he fails to step on the lighter stones, he will add, "or where I say to step!"
Rantel's delicate dance across the trapped stone gives his comrades confidence in moving ahead as well (Advantage for Jane and Bree Dex check thanks to that nat 20)

Drax splatters the closet spider, the vile creature split in half under the barbarian's assault. Hogshead's hammer lands a glancing blow, sending the creature skittering back a bit.
The Armored Figure swings his gauntleted fists at the surging horde of spiders coming his way, focusing their Ire on him.

Jane watches Rantel as he makes his way through the dark stones and tries to follow his path through. Dex: 16
She is able to perfectly mimic his steps and moves as far as she can to the edge of the walkway. Looking down into the darkness where the dim light from the torch she holds shows moving forms she hurriedly picks the closest target and calls down holy flames on it.
Move 30 ft, Sacred flame cantrip. Dex save DC 13 or take 5 radiant damage.

Zerxius looks cool as he leaps and flings a dart, but misses his target, the dart clinking harmlessly off the stone of the cavern floor. Jane fares no better with her magical flames from above.
The Armored Figure continues to stand, having hit and hurt one of the spiders, two of the crawlers manage to slip past his defense, long fangs finding slim openings in his dense armor. Hogshead and Drax can smell the stink of decay and death boiling out of the mouths of these spiders - a different breed from the ones you all faced in the Wellmouth. These are reddish in color and an inky black substance drips from their mouths as they salver and swarm.
So far they seem entirely focused on the figure in the dark Armor.
The Giant Spider hisses and squeals from where it's retreated, unwilling or unable to move further.
Update: Armored Figure, Hogshed, Drax, Zerxius on the floor in melee with 6 Spiders. All 6 Spiders are up and attacking the Armored Figure. Rantel, Jane and Bree are still in the tunnel mouth - 15ft up and 30ft back from the melee. Giant Spider's action is at the bottom of the initiative count - but thought a bit of flavor in the interim was in order.

He pauses, and does something with his hands, and a light appears, seeming to feed from another prismatic swirl of different yellows, oranges, and reds along his shell, emanating from some clear barnacle-like node near the center of the carapace. He grasps at something luminous in his hands, now a fully bright orange chromatic orb, winds up, and throws it at the massive spider. "Kill it with fire!"

The attacks knock him off balance and his hammer comes down just short of it's target. As the Giant Spider rears over the beardless dwarf it's hit with a blast of fiery arcane energy, smashing into the monster and knocking it flat, ichor and a thick tarry black liquid rushing out of if.
The remaining Spiders hiss and squeal and attempt to finish off the Armored Figure underneath them.
