"What happened? Where did they go?" Vera starts to freak out when she realizes the fact that there's no sign of two of the teammates as if they didn't even exist. It's similar to a phase of dream when some of the personalities disappear and new personnel will replace them.
She will immediately use her brooch to cast Sending so that she can communicate with any one of them, preferably Barburry. "Barburry. If you receive this message, you must respond to it. You send details about your location, condition so that we can help you."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Vera you attempt to reach out to Barburry, potentially modifying the limitations of a spell. And you think you managed to do so.
Hin and Barburry
Hin you find yourself landing on your feet in a field of grass, however, as quickly as you land on your feet, you feel yourself knocked down as a large familiar firbolg comes crashing in landing on top of you. As both of you look around, you find yourselves in a fairly large grassy plain. No pool of water. The area is well lit, as if the sun was shining down, but the sky is dark, illuminated with all sorts of celestial bodies. You see stars, moons, planets, and.. is that a massive asteroid shaped like a hand?
Looking above the tree line, far in the distance, you can see what looks like a castle, or keep, with something flying around it. Closer to you however, you hear a babbling brook running by a small house. Smoke is coming out of the stone chimney, candlelight dances in the window, and you can see the shadow of a shape moving within.

If that roll is above a 5, Barburry, you hear Vera in the back of your mind "Barburry. If you receive this message, you must respond to it. You send details about your location, condition so that we can help you." You have 25 words or fewer to respond how you'd like.
If the roll is 5 of below, I'll make an additional post noting the spell failed.
Getting off his friend embarrassed at both knocking Hin down as well his current state of undress, Barburry gathers his wits and responds to Vera, "We're fine. Pocket dimension? In meadow with night sky but well lit. A castle with someone inside. No portal pool. I haven't clothes either. Sorry."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Hin, startled by the large figure seemingly falling from the sky on top of her, lets out a yelp. She squeezes out from under Barburry, and sticks out her hand to help him up. Speechless and mouth agape, she takes in her surroundings slowly. She then looks down at herself, to make sure everything that she was wearing is still on her. She sighs in relief upon finding that her clothes and personal belongings---although wet---are safe. She looks around once more, while taking out all of her books, quills, and other belongings out of her bags and laying them out to dry. She tries to make a mental note of everything she sees, despite her slight disbelief. She hears Barburry's response and remarks, "Are you talking to someone? Or yourself?" She is no longer speechless, and she raises her eyebrows sharply. "Are you able to contact Laurence? Or Mythe? Or Vera or Professor Maz? Oh goodness, where are we?" she whines. As she finally realizes what actually happened, she starts getting jittery. Maybe from being cold and wet, or from the anxiety. She runs her hands through her wet hair; it looks like her normally firey hair has been put out.
Conjuration magic... Laurence's brows furrow, it's not their field of expertise at all. They take out a rope and turns to everyone: "does anyone have more rope? I could tie it to Roquefort and send him down to check, see if we can pull them back up." As Laurence hears Vera speaking, they ask hurriedly: "were you able to reach them?"
Laurence, you tie your rope around the opossum and send it into the pool. As it swims into the pool everyone remaining in the room watches it disappear and the rope float along the surface of the water. Hin and Barburry, you all hear and see a small, somewhat familiar opossum land near you.
"Oh thank the heavens, it's Roquefort. Barburry, it's my understanding you can talk to animals?" She watches the opossum with awe, as if he was a gift from the gods. "Oh, and once my things dry off a little more, I could give you a spare set of clothes I have. I normally keep two sets, in case I need to shapechange into someone that's bigger than I am at that moment. I'm not sure if it's your style, but it's probably better than just being in your... shorts."

"If no one else comes through, clothes would be much appreciated. Roquefort is very polite, I can tell. That being said, I learned quickly as a child I can communicate well with nature's residents, but the understanding isn't reciprocal. We may be able to figure it out, but I don't easily know what Roquefort is saying. I am more hoping Laurence might be seeing and hearing through Roqueforts senses like I do with Scritches." For a moment he panics and pats his waist where his component pouch would have been if he was clothed.
"Scritches! I don't have the components to summon him! Ugh I'm such a doof! Who tries to take a bath in an ancient hidden underground ruin!?"
"Don't wear yourself out too much. You weren't the only one that decided to explore." She walks over to Roquefort and sits down beside him. I'd like to pick him up... He's so cute! But I don't want to make him or Laurence uncomfortable. She lays down with her stomach to the ground, facing Roquefort, while keeping her distance. "Laurence? Can you see through Roquefort right now? Is everyone okay on that side of the... portal?" She stares into his beady little eyes, looking for some kind of response. She whips her head around and looks at Barburry. "You know, it would be really funny if Laurence wasn't looking through here. I would just be talking to Roquefort, and I'm not sure if he can understand me like he can understand you."

Holding the limp rope in their hands, Laurence's eye twitches. They look up to the ceiling and start breathing deeply, a well-practised exercise. They walk to the nearest wall and brace a hand against it, trying to channel Roquefort's senses and see through its eyes. Feeling that it is not working a few moments later, they grit their teeth and snaps their fingers, attempting to summon Roquefort back to their side.
Barburry, you attempt speaking with Roquefort, and you're sure the opossum understands you; I mean, Scritches understands you when you speak to him, but you also know Scritches is a fey that takes the form of a beast when you summon him, and when you speak with him, he responds telepathically. Hin, after you turn your head back to look towards Roquefort, the opossum is gone. No longer in front of your face. Laurence, you summon Roquefort back into the cave you're in.
Laurence exhales a sigh of relief for at least their familiar was able to get back, they places Roquefort back on the ground and Roquefort attempts to shake itself dry like a miserable wet dog. They stoop down to it’s eye level and will telepathically prompt it to share what it saw (and convey the information to Mythe and Vera.)
(ooc: so no need for spoilers I think, also how did it feel like when Roquefort went to the other place, is Laurence able to figure out if it’s like a similar sensation as the portal to the academy?)
Roquefort telepathically tells you that they didn't see much. They landed in an open field, soaking wet, they could smell smoke, then all of a sudden Hin had her face in theirs, and was talking to them. They saw a mostly naked firbolg standing nearby in the field. Roquefort did however hear Hin and Barburry talking about trading clothes, before you summoned them back to you.
Laurence falls back into a sitting position on the ground, "at least they appear to be safe. For now. Miss Hin appears to have all her belongings, Roquefort might be able to bring Mister Barburry's things to him." Roquefort begins to whine at that thought, and Laurence says exasperatedly, "I'll give you a day off if you do this for me, and the nice firbolg gentleman." Smoothing out their clothes, they regain their composure and turn to Mythe and Vera, "Any ideas?"
Hin turns back to look at Roquefort, and half-yelps-half-groans in exasperation. She rolls her eyes and slams her forehead down on the ground. "Where did Roquefort go?" she muffles into the grass. "He was just right here!" She slowly stands up, thinking hard. Rolling up her sleeves habitually, she's stuck in a trance of thought. If they brought Roquefort down, then that means they're ok... they had time to get him ready and bring him down here. But what happened to Roquefort? Did he go too far, go poof like Scritches did? Or did he run off? I hope Laurence is able to keep him safe. And where is that smoke coming from?
"Where is that smoke coming from?" she thinks out loud.
"I am sure Laurence simply summed Roquefort back. At least they will know we're ok... for now. Maybe we should wait a minute to see if anyone else follows, then perhaps we could politely seek aid from the house? I wouldn't usually be too worried, but I seriously doubt anyone has used that portal we just did in some time. We may be quite the scare to them."
"I think that would be a good idea, but let's at least wait for my things to dry before we set off. That'll give us time to wait and see if anyone else drops in, or if they drop your things here as well." She doesn't realize she's essentially reiterating what Barburry's already said. She's still lost deep in thought. Portals? To another plane, another dimension? I've only read about these things in fiction books, maybe in the research archives a time or two. This is stressful. She shakes her head. No, remember what this is all for, who you're doing this for. Why you're doing this. You can figure this out. What even is there to figure out? Oh goodness, I wish the rest of my classmates were here with us. At least we wouldn't be split up, and we'd know if the others are safe or not.
Vera replies to Laurence first when she will carefully clutch the brooch, expecting it to show some sign to ensure the fact that the message has been sent successfully. Perhaps, she's waiting for a response from the receiver too. "I'm not sure about the effectiveness of my hare-brained action. But, we'll see the result within a few moments."
Without giving it a second thought, Vera has collected the personal belongings of her firbolg friend and thrown the items in the pool of water.
Vera you toss Barburry's belongings into the pool of water. Thankfully, his heavier items managed to land on top of his lightweight clothing, and his lightweight clothing begins to float in the middle of the pool, much like the rope that was tied to Roquefort.
