"You stumbled upon a portal--" he trails off muttering to himself with a look of confusion on his face "where did you say you were from again?" He keeps more of a watchful eye over the two miniature elephants than he does the lot of you as you stand in front of his door, until his gaze fixes on the brooches each of you are wearing.
(OOC: I don't think Hin would know what these creatures are. They're not exactly in any books, but for fun give me a nature check. Everyone give me a history check with your next post!)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Others... place." Hin repeats. "Where..." He points up to the sky, then to the planets, and finally at the asteroid looming over them. "Not... hand..." He looks down at his feet and gestures to them. "Up there." He points at the general sky and at the foot asteroid again. "Understood?" His broken speech is slow but strained, and it sounds like he's a little frustrated.
Oh how I love acting!! I do hope it's not apparent how much I'm enjoying this. Wouldn't want to break character.
He continues, forcibly straining his voice a little more. "What... those? Not... Loxodon..." Strangely enough, that last word sounds almost like... Towermaster Silentstep? He steps aside and gestures to the two small gilded elephants playing in the field behind him.

Jack, a Changeling Artificer/Bard/Cleric/Fighter/Rogue---RynnElocin'sFrom Dusk to Dawn Amon, a Fairy Arcane Trickster---ShieldHero_'s Fractum
Vera seems annoyed by the fact that the lower part of her body is wet. The damp length of the skirt is drooping like discarded pieces of rags and it doesn't look appealing. I wish I could do something to remove the dampness.
When the unnamed man mumbles to himself, she will move forward to introduce herself and immediately ask him about the way to leave the plane. "We thought that we'd find a portal here that might lead us back. But, we don't see anything and it's proving to be a matter of distress."
Hin, no, unfortunately, you've never heard of these little miniature elephants. It seems unnatural for an elephant to be that small. "Why don't we dry off" he says as he waves one of his hands towards all of you, as he does so your clothes instantly dry out "and we can step inside to talk further" and he gestures all of you to enter into the house. As Barburry enters into the house, you all see him as if he's inside the house. However, as you step through the threshold and into the house, you're not in the house, instead you're standing in the courtyard of the academy and it is very late, and very dark out. Then it hits you as you look up. The figure looked familiar, but none of you could quite put your finger on it. The figure you met looks almost identical to the statue in the middle of the courtyard holding a book and quill. Professor Maz is standing there with you. He has a mixed look of wonder and confusion on his face as he begins to process what just happened. "Right, I suppose class is over for the night.. Please be safe returning to your tower.. and-" he trails off for a moment seemingly lost in thought "meet me in the same room tomorrow."
He's Thul??? One of the Deities that built... the one that writes all... He's Thul?!??
"You're Thul?" Hin's so shocked, he's forgotten to disguise his voice. "And... he's gone. But oh my goodness, we just met Thul. I hope he didn't take offense for my being untrusting earlier, or for intruding. We just met Thul!" He is flabbergasted. Having abandoned all pleasantries, he continues in an excited babble. "I've read all about him. The Loreweaver! The ultimate historian, writer of all history! I can't believe we were just there. Face to face, with him. Someone pinch me. He probably knows everything about everyone, right? Because isn't everything technically history once the moment's passed?" At this moment, he's not entirely sure if he's saying anything or thinking it, but either way his train of thought is going full speed ahead. He hadn't realized Professor Maz had spoken until the middle of his sentence. He stops his little speech abruptly and gives an enthusiastic "Yes, Sir!" in the Professor's direction.
"Thul...? Mister Hin, are you certain? We met a deity?" Laurence looks around bewilderedly, unsure of what just happened. They eventually do see the statues and connect the visage of the sculpture to the man they just met. "We... met god?" They parrot what they had just said, mouth slightly agape and staring at Thul's statue, until they had to blink because their eyes began to sting.
They register Professor Maz's words after a few moments. "Ah-" they clear their throat, "right, yes, thank you, Professor." They smooth down their clothes, in an act to recover from... whatever that was. To everyone else, "shall we return to the tower now? Today was a lot, we could use a good night's sleep."
Barburry walks silently with the group. He hasn't felt himself with the pretending, lying, and meeting a God. He let's out a heavy sigh as they walk towards their tower. Today...was a lot. Just catch your breath. We'll go back, I'll resummon Scritches, and eat some food before sleep.
He looks to the others and can't help but wonder if any are upset with the whole pool portal thing. The confidence he had had to start the day has disappeared with his energy. He just tries to fake some confidence and find some at the bottom of a full stomach or a good night's rest.
Vera seems disheartened when she lets her shoulders droop, crossing her arms in such a manner that it looks like she's trying to hug herself. In fact, she thinks that it has been a unique opportunity to meet the loreweaver but she's somehow failed to take advantage of it. Perhaps, she should have stayed behind and persuaded him to teach her about the history of the planes... especially about the past and present of her land of domicile. She could have learned about the true events of Tepest. Absolute truth, but not that kind of history that's deliberately distorted.
"I think I'll spend some time to conduct a quick research about Thul. To me, he's only a historical figure with legendary fame... not a god or a deity but a person with memory and emotion. Now, I wonder what might have happened to him. He's apparently living in seclusion."
You all sluggishly make your way to your tower after this exhausting roller coaster of a day. You make it safely back and enter your tower. As you do, you all go through any nightly rituals you have, but ultimately find yourself to sleep.
Barburry
Your specialty is conjuration magics. Being at this academy has made you very homesick even with you only being here 2 days. And walking through that portal in the pool of water has only made it worse. For a split moment you felt as if you were home. You were in an open field with a simple cottage, a small garden, and an orchard. You got to meet a man who lived the way you use to. Before that giant came and took everything from you. But you know the giant had to destroy your homestead for you to be where you are now. The academy has given you access to their gardens to help ease some of your homesickness, and it is working. You're certain if you continue training and practicing your conjuration magics, you'll be able to conjure your own wildlife and you can rebuild your homestead when the time comes. Even bigger and better this time. Be capable of providing for a whole town if you wish.
But that's neither here nor there. Today has taken a heavy toll on your normal cheery self. Your best friend, Scritches, got obliterated by some crazy magical rod, which either Hin or Vera current possess. You can't remember which one pocketed it. You know the fey spirit is going to come back, temporarily annoyed, but ultimately happy to be back at your side, but you hate that temporarily annoyed moment.
You do know one thing though, you're a conjurer. Conjuration magic is powerful. It's capable of bringing things to you, or taking you to things. Conjuration is responsible for any type of teleportation. You also realize in the past two days, you've seen two free standing portals. Free standing portals which are extremely rare and honestly, believed to be a lost art. A new free standing portal hasn't been created in since long before you were born. One of them took you direction to someone the group is starting to believe is a deity. An actual god of the lands. Then the question comes to you "Could he help me be the next conjurer of portals?"
After dinner, if you choose to eat with the group, you find yourself in your room, laying in your bed. You think about this question and about the giant that destroyed your homestead. If you could create your own pocket dimension like so many powerful wizards can; you could build a new homestead safe from threats and if you can create a permanent standing portal, villagers could visit and purchase produce from you with ease!
Donavera
Your specialty is divination magics. Being a diviner is the closest you can ever be to expecting everything and being prepared for it, with the exception of being an all knowing deity. With that being said, you're starting to believe you just met the all knowing deity. The sole deity who literally knows everything in its most purest form of unbiased knowledge. You had a chance to speak with him, but he tricked you. He invited you into his house and as you entered, you appeared back at the academy. Why would he do this? What is he hiding? How did he do this? You didn't hear him cast a spell, nor did you see him cast a spell. You know since the beginning of the 4th era, deities reside in their own planes, far from the Prime Material Plane. Similar to you, being from the domain of dread, Tepest. Was that truly the deity Thul, or just someone masquerading as him. How could the holder of all there is to know not know how you arrived at his house? As you think over all of this information and the events of today a thought pops into your head "Could I become powerful enough to divine the location of a deity?"
After dinner, if you choose to eat with the group, you find yourself in your room in the tower, laying in your bed. You think about this question and about your imaginary twin sister. At some point in the night you finally find peace as you fall asleep.
Hin
Your specialty is as a scribe. It's amazing that just like all the schools of magic, this academy has a hall dedicated solely to the art of transcribing. You may not be a master of a single school like the rest of your tower mates, but you definitely know how to outshine them when transcribing spells and even creating spell scrolls. As you start to get a little down at the thought that you'll never be as good at illusions as that stuck up high elf Mythe, or as good at conjuring things as the overtly friendly firbolg Barburry; you remember that rod you found. The Rod of the Loreweaver, then you get to thinking about the Loreweaver himself; a deity you're pretty sure you literally just met before he tricked you into returning back to the academy. He's a scribe himself. You're following in the footsteps of a deity! An extremely smart, extremely powerful deity. Now that feels good. Then a thought enters your mind "Perhaps one day, I could be a better scribe than the Loreweaver himself"
After dinner, if you choose to eat with the group, you find yourself in your room in the tower, laying in your bed. You think about this thought and about being in the library with your parents. Eventually you pass out, finally finding peace in sleep.
Laurence
Your specialty is enchantment magics. Even though it began with a false understanding of what enchantment magics were; you've stuck to it, and you've begun getting pretty dang good. You know you're going to have to up your enchantment game, if you plan on escaping when the noble family that owns you finally finds you and drags you back in chains. They may never find you; they may not even be looking for you, but you can't take the chance. One of their spies could be in the academy. Maybe they already know you're here. Maybe they're just lying in wait.
You snap away from this train of thought and think over the events of the day. Were you charmed today? Did the man you met, that you are suspecting of being the Loreweaver, use your own magics against you? You walked into a strangers home, solely because he asked you to. You didn't even question it, or give it a second thought. If he did charm and enchant you, how? You didn't hear him utter any arcane words. He didn't move his hands or arms in any way that you're use to seeing when someone is casting a spell. You find yourself with a single question "Is this something I could one day do?"
After dinner, if you choose to eat with the group, you find yourself in your room in the tower, laying in your bed. You think about this question and what you're going to do not if, but when the people you're running from find you. Eventually you black out, finally finding peace in sleep.
Mytheaian
Your specialty is illusory magics; and just like the rest of your family, you're pretty good at what you do. Surely what happened today was a grand illusion unlike any other, right? I mean, there's no way you just met a prime deity. There's no way you met the Loreweaver, knower of all there is to know, and he didn't know how you arrived to his house. He was a man, living in a simple house in a simple field, but the sky was weird. It doesn't look like the sky above you, not a single star or planet matched the sky above you, and what was with that rocky foot you saw floating in the sky? Surely it was some sort of very powerful illusion. All of this brings one question to you"will I be capable of creating an illusion like that one day?"
After eating, or totally bypassing dinner if you wish, you find yourself in your uncomfortable (to your standards) bed, and think about your question and the pressure you're under from your family until you finally doze off.
You each spend the next three weeks going to classes. All of your general classes together, but ultimately splitting up and meeting your respective professors for your specialized classes. Barburry, you meet Professor Malvius, an older tiefling gentleman; He's the professor of conjuration and you attend his classes with a handful of other conjuration students. Hin, you meet with Professor Maz; who you happen to already know. He is the professor of transcribing. You and two other students work closely with him. It seems a rare route, which makes sense now why he was excited to learn about you on your first day. Laurence, you meet Professors Daemera and Daemora, a succubus and incubus, respectively. They both teach the same material, and you're allowed to switch between both professors as you wish. Mythe, you meet Professor Elsa Wisp. A young human lady, no older than her early 30s; or at least she appears this way. She is a professor of illusions. And finally, Vera, you meet Galyra an older, blind female half-elf. This however, does not interfere with her teachings. She is an excellent diviner, and she moves around the classroom as if she can see. Matter of fact, she yelled at several students at the beginning when they weren't paying attention, and passing notes. Each night you return to your tower, catching up with each other, working together to finish up your assigned studies. Your classes are intensive, but you are allowed just enough free time at the end of the day to get some personal things done.
(OOC: You are all now 3rd level! You may hit that long rest button and level your character up! If you take a level in wizard, you are allowed to add 2 new spells, of your choice, to your spellbook. As a 3rd level wizard, you should have 10 spells in your spellbook. This is 3 weeks of limited downtime. Most of it is spent going to classes and studying (leveling up) you can however do a personal thing if you would like. Please reach out privately to me if you'd like to do something with your limited free time!)
"Mother Lorinda, show me the truth."Vera whispers to herself while remaining motionless in her bed. She's stroking the feathers of her familiar which disappears suddenly among the cluster of sheets, then reappears as a kitten (Find Familiar). Meanwhile, Vera has already started to disguise herself as the darklord, her flawless skin showing wrinkles. Her olive skin tone has intensified and adopted a matte green undertone, when her living crown starts crawling like tentacles. (Disguise Self)
"I met the Loreweaver but he tricked me. I didn't expect him to treat me like that."She moves in front of her steel mirror and talks to her own reflection as if she were talking to the Mother. "I'll find him and show him that I'm not a silly little girl anymore who can be tricked easily. Will you help me, Mother?"(She's trying to learn how to cast Augury properly.)
You get nothing in return. You have a feeling it's because the results from the course of action has to occur within the next 30 minutes, and even if you left right this instant, you couldn't get back to that pool of water and to the house where you found the Loreweaver in 30 minutes.
You also get the feeling that your question wasn't specific enough for Mother Lorinda to give you a useful answer. Were you asking for help finding him? Proving you're can't be tricked? Are you wanting revenge?
It is however, a good start to Vera understanding her new spell!
Barburry spends his days devotedly trying to cultivate relationships with those that work the greenhouses and gardens. He also diligently practices his conjuration, hoping to be able to summon pleasant fauna. During his time, both in conjuration classes as well as gardens, he inquires about the technical needs to add a greenhouse or small plot of land to the tower, to grow things close to home. He openly prepares breakfast and dinners for his housemates, when learning their dietary preferences. He goes as far as following Hin to the library to find or request different recipe books from around the world.
More secretly, he also looks into the conjuration of the portals they traveled through. It is an interest that he is worried may be over his head, so to save his pride he tries to keep it secret till he makes some progress.
As part of being students at The Thearrothen Academy, and during your three weeks of strenuous studying and testing, each of you were given a bond worth 100 gold and another bond worth 500 gold was given to all of you as tower funds. You're told it is for student living costs, and you're free to do with it as you wish. You are told, if you need to exchange it for physical gold, you're capable of doing so at the Grand Hall, but they are 100% honored on campus and can be spent in their paper bond form. The majority of you have probably never seen this much gold, especially if you choose to exchange it for physical coin.
Barburry
At some point during your three weeks, you heard the following rumor floating around the school: Mythe is addicted to klembium powder. You know klembium powder is very addictive until mixed properly into a salve or mixed into special potions.
(OOC: Klembium powder is the ground up petals of the Klembium flower. It's a powerful pain killer, and extremely small portions are typically powdered into powerful healing potions, to provide an extra boost in physical recovery.)
Barburry spent his free time messing with the already existing garden plots, and petitioning for new gardens to be installed, which several were. Each of the new garden plots had a young fruit bearing tree planted in the middle by Barburry himself. Towards the end of the three weeks, Edna paid a visit to your tower and magically installed a wooden door between the kitchen and the library nook of the tower. Walking through the door brings you into a secondary pocket dimension inside the tower's pocket dimension, that replicates a small portion of the tower grounds, except it's empty. Barburry has set up several garden plots here and has began growing various plants. He also cooked some lovely meals over the three weeks, making sure to feed each and every one of you and learning your favorite types of food.
(OOC: This action unlocked an optional rule for the towers: Exotic Ingredients. The tower is capable of supplying partial materials required to create potions. A character can create a single Potion of Healing per day and safely remove it from the tower. The process takes 4 hours, costs 25 gp, and requires proficiency with the herbalism kit. (This does not reduce the cost of creating a potion, but the exquisite condition of the ingredients increase the processing speed from a full day to only 4 hours.))
Hin
At some point during your three weeks, you heard the following rumor floating around the school: Mythe's last romantic partner was murdered, and she is at fault for it.
During your research looking over the question you were asked by your now dead half-elven colleague. During the first week, you don't learn anything. During the second week, you learn that your parents were indeed working with the academy like your colleague had thought, but you also learn that they were in fact members of the academy. They weren't professors, but they were researchers. On the third week, you find out that whatever they were working on, indeed lead to the disease that killed them. Some pages have been torn from the tomes you found this information in.
Hin spends the majority of their time in the Grand Hall's library doing research on a personal subject. They also spend their evenings reading in the young book club that takes place in the Grand Hall's library.
(OOC: Idk if you stay in kenku form for the entirety of the 3 weeks or not. I know you shift while reading at the book club though.)
Laurence
At some point during your three weeks, you heard the following rumor floating around the school: Mythe is a member of the Twinshade. You've found out the Twinshade is a very well hidden guild of thieves and assassins, and now that you think about it, you have seen some shady figures around the campus lately, who seem to disappear when you take a second look.
Laurence spent a lot of their time in the Hall of Enchantment's library, going over minor enchantment rules. Retraining themselves in a more professional matter, since all their original enchantment was self-taught from haphazard spellbooks and tomes. They also spent a chunk of time speaking with an inventor's guild from the north, that they're contemplating studying at, and honing their sword fighting ability / releasing stress with students who are visiting from the elven school of bladesinging.
Mythe
Over the weeks after taking over this posse of girls, you begin hearing those rumors we talked about spreading across campus. You spend several days in administrational trouble while being zone of truthed over the Twinshade shenanigans. You had a pretty rough couple weeks, but your new noble friends, more importantly Naivara, manages to get you some sweet silk sheets (or sheets of any material Mythe would prefer) for your bed.
Mythe spent most of her free time, carousing around campus. Occasionally, each of you saw her around campus moving in a small posse of girls, all nobly and ornately dressed, similar to her.
Vera
At some point during your three weeks, you heard the following rumor floating around the school: Mythe is in a love triangle with her illusions professor and the professor of abjuration. You have seen her spending time with her professor, which makes sense, but you've also seen all three of them together occasionally, which is kind of weird.
(OOC: The professor of abjuration is Grusk. He's an illithid.)
Vera spent all of her free time studying with the gardening club, occasionally hanging out with Barburry since he was often with them as well. Over the three weeks, Vera, you got pretty good at identifying plants, and making different salves. She missed several dinners at the tower, as she went hard into her studying, losing track of time occasionally.
(OOC: You gained half proficiency with the herbalism kit as we talked about. You were also given a herbalism kit by the gardening club; so you may add it to your inventory.)
The three weeks have passed, and you find yourselves in Thal'rin's office. Edna is in the office with you. As the familiar silver dragonborn, Professor Maz finally enters the room "Ah, I'm glad you could all make it." Thal'rin speaks up "I do believe Maz has asked your assistance." The professor readies himself, he looks as if he's out of breath as if he's been running, and Hin, you're used to this. Professor Maz has been late to almost every. single. one. of his classes. "We've had an advancement in the archeological dig that I took you all to on your first day at the academy." he says while trying to catch his breath "two things actually. We tried stepping through that portal in the water, like we did. It's just a pool of water now. The magical power it once held is gone. It's dormant. However, we discovered another secret door in the wall on accident. We've translated some of the text surrounding the wall and strangely enough it directed us to you." He looks at each of you. "I've been working closely with Hin these last couple weeks, but the rest of you I haven't seen in a while, and we didn't really get to know each other, but if I remember correctly, one of you has the last name Khi'mur and another Kaethius, correct?" The dragonborn takes some extra time to compose himself while awaiting a reply.
(OOC: Welcome back wizards! Time for some real danger!)
Laurence's mind often wandered back to the encounter with Thul in the first few days at the academy, but ultimately they pack it up and slots it away in a mental drawer to be revisited later. The bond given to each student and tower was quite a shock to them, given that much so many things were already free of charge. They attend their studies rigorously and spends ample time getting accustomed to life here. They warm up to the others over the 3 weeks, and it becomes clear their meekness at first meeting is just a front. Though they still retain the reserved persona elsewhere, they are more straightforward when alone with their towermates.
In their shared tower, Laurence has somewhat taken it upon themself to clean up whenever they have the time. Their towermates soon find out that a tidy and comfortable living space makes them happy. Their familiar Roquefort often lazed around in the tower or followed people around if they gave it food, even though familiars do not need to eat. Later at night, when the day is winding down, you can hear faint sounds of tinkering from Laurence's room, and occasionally, muffled sounds of metal colliding and subdued cussing.
Laurence waits patiently in the Hallmaster's office, subtly fidgeting with the cuff of their blouse, surely a few harmless enchantment experiments would not warrant punishment, there are so many enchantment students here! They give Professor Maz a respectful bow of their head, having not studied under him since the first few days. Their brows furrow a little up hearing that the portal has disappeared and now they have no way to reach Thul. But that problem is soon forgotten when their name is mentioned, especially in combination with the other two. Blinking in surprise, they respond, "ah, yes, my family name is Khi'mur. Is there a... problem?"
Hin, now changed back to her usual on-campus persona, spends as much time in the library as she can over these three weeks. Her red hair is almost always swept back in a loose bun, to keep her from fidgeting with her hair as she reads. She'll take a break from classes and vigorous research once a week to meet with the Children's literature club. She's started reading The Storybook of Quinn and Zara and if she gets a chance to talk to Lena again (ooc: which I assume she definitely will), she'll make it an opportunity to talk to her about that and the many other books she's been reading.I truly hope to make a connection with these children, she thinks to herself fondly.Reminds me of home.
Occasionally, she'll try and see if Barburry needs any help with gardening and cooking, or if anyone else needs help with their studies, just eager to lend a hand whenever possible and spend time with her classmates. Other times, she'll take walks around the halls of the school alone, contemplating the latest information that her research has turned up---especially at night, if she's allowed. She hasn't gotten much sleep lately.
She smiles in amusement at her Professor's usual breathless manner, and waits patiently while he talks. Having gotten into the habit of writing everything down the past few weeks, she whips out her notebook---her old and repurposed spellbook---and starts jotting down notes as he's talking. The more her Professor says, the more excited she gets. "Oh goodness!" Unsure whether to be excited about the advancements and the recognition they have received, or worried about the safety of herself and her classmates, she frowns but squeals with elation. "This is quite the advancement. What was the text about, and why would it have said our names?" She pauses, deep in thought. "Were you able to translate anything that might..." She takes another beat, trying to find the right words but not exactly finding them, "...be a cause for concern, for our safety or otherwise?" She quickly jots down more notes, a messy and simplified version of her current ruminations.
Wasn't the cave some sort of memorial to preserve the last remaining remnants of 3rd Era culture and history? Why would our names be in something like that? Maybe we have a part to play in all this, maybe it's Thul telling us something? A warning, a prophecy? It could be a multitude of things. I just hope this doesn't put us in any sort of grave danger, but history normally is not kind to those that chase the edges of existence... my parents are living proof of that. Well, not really. She chuckles harshly to herself at her ironic joke.
Mythe spends most of her time in classes or locked in her room studying, but she is often spotted around the academy, surround by a group of well-dressed ladies. These girls always seemed to be swarming around Mythe, tripping over themselves to earn her approval, and this made it glaringly obvious that they see her as some kind of leader. However, those who look closely will see that she treats most of them with nothing more than superficial attention, and only really seems to be fond of one - a pretty human girl with distinctive auburn hair. In just three weeks Mythe has made quite a name for herself throughout the academy, but not all this attention is favourable. Malicious rumours have started to circulate about the elf, many of which her tower-mates have likely heard. Whether or not they were true had yet to be confirmed, and many students had taken to gossiping about them in the halls.
— — —
If the rumours had any affect Mythe, she certainly does not show it. Her appearance remains flawless as ever as she listens to Professor Maz’s words, no emotion escaping her perfectly neutral expression. When the Dragonborn mentions her surname she speaks up, voice cool with no hint of surprise. “I am the heir to the Kaethius family. What, exactly, did this text say?” She does not think it unusual for her name to be mentioned. Her family had been working closely with arcane forces for eons - that was their specialty, after all. Where there was powerful magic at play, there was likely to be a Kaethius.
Some heavy anxiety sets in to Barburry, Laurence and Mythe's names were in a older than old magical scrawling... in an hidden ruin with a portal to a god!? Oh my britches.
"Well, as many of you may know, if you're bilingual or multilingual, house names very rarely translate through languages due to their uniqueness. So, they are typically early and easy sources of information in projects like this. We're positive the writing on this cave is well over 4,000 years old, so I'm certain it's not pertaining to you directly, but perhaps a very distant relative. I'd like to bring you along. As we translate more of the details, you may be able to provide information since it seems to be based on an ancestor." The dragonborn looks towards both Laurence and Mythe"did either of you know each other prior to meeting here at the academy?"
Oh, of course. How foolish of me to think it was referring to us specifically... Mustn't get a big head, just because you met the Loreweaver.
"Well, I don't know very much about my ancestors, other than my parents... Not even my grandparents were mentioned, much less family from 4,000 years ago. My parents didn't like talking about them much." She takes a quick breath and mutters to herself, "Other than Redeemed, and the other original Changelings, of course." She continues writing down what her professor is saying, and raises her hand slightly as a precursor to a question. "I'd have to agree with Mythe here; what exactly did the text say? What else were you able to translate? It might help those of us that know their family history figure out what ancestors they're referring to."
(ooc: I just have to say how much I love Barburry's sayings. Sweet cherry blossoms? Oh my britches?? Absolutely iconic.)

He continues, forcibly straining his voice a little more. "What... those? Not... Loxodon..." Strangely enough, that last word sounds almost like... Towermaster Silentstep? He steps aside and gestures to the two small gilded elephants playing in the field behind him.

All of this brings one question to you "will I be capable of creating an illusion like that one day?"

"Mother Lorinda, show me the truth." Vera whispers to herself while remaining motionless in her bed.
I didn't expect him to treat me like that." She moves in front of her steel mirror and talks to her own reflection as if she were talking to the Mother. "I'll find him and show him that I'm not a silly little girl anymore who can be tricked easily. Will you help me, Mother?" (She's trying to learn how to cast Augury properly.)

Vera
She's started reading The Storybook of Quinn and Zara and if she gets a chance to talk to Lena again (ooc: which I assume she definitely will), she'll make it an opportunity to talk to her about that and the many other books she's been reading. I truly hope to make a connection with these children, she thinks to herself fondly. Reminds me of home.

As we translate more of the details, you may be able to provide information since it seems to be based on an ancestor." The dragonborn looks towards both Laurence and Mythe "did either of you know each other prior to meeting here at the academy?"
