Chadderlay will follow the path to meet up with Mister Fancy again and have a closer look at the structure with the constellations on it's surfaces.

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
<So, just bypassing the treasure, then? OK, there's more ahead>
You notice trails along the ceiling faintly etched into the ice, leading to the observarion if subtle movement among the icicles. 10 if them seem to be animated. Probably best to avoid those.
Exploring the building, it's apparent much of it has collapsed, but the front room is intact—and also free of ice and frost. The remnants of smashed furnishings suggest that the room once served as a wizard’s workshop. Atop a splintered table is a brimstone cube small enough to hold in one hand. The air around the cube ripples, as it seems to be putting out enough dry heat to warm the room.
(Not sure how we're meant to know where treasure is. Unless that giant spear is it? We can double back for it)
Akame can't believe a drow would allow them to just come up without noticing them. They weren't even trying to be quiet. Was this a trap? He spent some magic to detect thoughts of anyone around them.
(Subtle Spell detect thoughts to try to identify any hidden drow or other people in range)
The drow turns from his book to see the sneaking party. "Topsiders!" He exclaims in undercommon as he points to the group. Two more male drow rush I to the building from the entrance at the far side if the building.
"Meldirn, Tlaknar: seize them!"
Meldirn casts faerie fire on the party. (Dex DC12) as Tlankar takes aim with his hand crossbow.

<I know, I know, scouts and sneaking and not really doing anything, but yeah, stuff is happening now.>
The drow who was seated (Yilsebek) carries himself with the poise and arrogance of a mage. He wears a spider silk satchel that contains his spellbook (described below), a spider-shaped brooch made of obsidian and engraved with a drow symbol.

<To clarify, the map is suggesting the whole structure is one space, even though it is drawn originally as divided by natural formations. The blue circle is my attempt to represent that fact. This means you csn get to the other side through it instead of having to go around to the other entrance through the still unexplored area.
Just imagine the grid lines cover the whole circle >
Additional note: combat has not started. Initiative just means we know how it will start, if it does.
"I'll give you one chance to be on your way. When my soul does find its way to the Abyss, may Lolth's waiting arms embrace me. But long before that day, you will meet your fate if e'er I should see your face again." the drow mage concedes.
I don't know how else you'd get a wizards spellbook, as he's wearing it on his person.
Spoiler:
He is definitely going to try to kill you. He's basically a prospector who's just struck gold and now what looks very much to him like claim jumpers have shown up. Some more dialogue would reveal this, (maybe with a roll for insight).
Never say 'never,' but it would take a ridiculously persuasive argument to get this guy to let you go. Having hired muscle on hand and a Red Wizard in the group don't help matters much, the 'gold' in rhe analogy being the magic of ancient Netheril.
"What foul business are the drow about here in this frozen crypt?"
Chadderlay will pick up his cat and pet it on the back of the head, smoothing it's fur down it's back.

Akame follows, keeping back a bit and staying on the lookout for hostiles or anything noteworthy.

"Stand down. " Akame warns them in elvish. "We didn't come here to harm you but if you attack it'll be a one way ticket to the Abyss for you."

(Just want to give Chadderlay a chance to respond before I carry on)
Carry on with what? You're here, (as a player) to take their stuff. If not that, this area is done. Sans treasure, we could have moved on last week.
(Maybe Akame won't want to murder and rob them)
